I am not that invested to do the maths (checking starts and subs in games). Raheem had 8 goals in 31 games. Noni had 5 in 23 or so. I think Noni has 2 assists. Did not check Raheem's. What's your exact point?

I hope you are not one of those that thinks he is being frozen out for tactical reasons? You know it is because of the Felix deal your club was forced into, right?

Take your time and do the maths before making false claims up and down.

Madueke was more productive based on your own stated metric - G/A per minutes.

You can ask Fraudiola to buy your useless burden of an attacker, Sterling.

Android17:
So you did not know what I meant when you were responding?

Sterling's G/A per minutes played in the EPL is what I was referring to.

Strange, but he is still better than Sterling on that left flank.
anyone is currently better than sterling. Man lost his passion.

But why Felix and such long term contract too?

May be they are hoping for one good season and quickly cash out or something.

Eating like elephant and working like sloth, shouldn't be tolerated.

I want to know what they want to do to Mudryk. I don't mind if we sell him and get a prolific striker.

I can't imagine at the end of TW, Nottingham forest, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Spurs, boasting of a quality striker than Chelsea.

You win. They don't play the same wings though and Sterling was 4th give or take - like I said - not that invested.

You know Maresca used the player all through the preseason and communicating this to him a day to the season opener proves it was not tactical?

Hope you know Maresca is creating an impression that will discourage other players from wanting to play for him. He is effectively losing the dressing room?

It's not about any win, but correcting the faulty premise you are arguing on.

I posted it several times long before now that a serious coach would chase Sterling away from his team. Fraudiola wasn't a fool and Maresca must have seen the nonsense he played for us last season.

Baba, my argument with you and Timbros was: Attack and defence - Which is the major problem?

The transfer window's activities have given you and Timbros the deserved L, so I don't understand what you want me to listen to again from you?

I asked for more more funds to be spent on our attack and it is done. We may spend around 200m on it and I am not sure we have spent 50m on our defence.

Our last game showed that support cast means nothing when your striker is working at cross purposes. Once your wingers are shut down and you have a wastepipe like Jackson topping, it's DOA. So, i wasn't surprised that we fired blanks and many called for quick purchase of a better striker.

We have upgraded our attack with better dribblers as I suggested. However, without a prolific striker, teams will just deny us enough spaces, defend their flanks religiously and hope to score 1 or 2 and steal the maximum points.

Maresca will be stupid not to get a striker better than Jackson in front of goal. His recent actions show that he wants that important surgical operation in our attack and finally getting a prolific striker, is the cherry on the cake.

Just like Mikel, I want us to compete for the Epl title and not just aiming at top 4. We have spent over 1bn and shouldn't be thinking like Aston Villa.

Alhaji, you have confused me with someone else. I never joined your attack v defence debate, even though I did acknowledge that Timbros' stance trumps yours by a billion light years.

Me I no chop any L. My argument has always been simple. It is financially profligate to spend £80m/90m on the likes of Vlahovic and Dovbyk (and all these other yama yama pipu you keep recommending) who offer no significant upgrade over Jackson. For that manner of money, dude should be coming with 25 non-penalty goals per season minimum. If we listened to you, we would have Vlahovic on the books now, and you will be telling us we still need a top striker.

Second argument was that if you like, spend £120m on Osimhen, if your support cast is shite, then in the best case scenario, Osimhen will score 30 goals and finish we still finish 6th.

Similarly, and to buttress Timbros' point, if you like line up with Halaand and Osimhen and each score a goal every game, if you concede twice as much, your strikers count for naught.

So na you dey imagine L o. I no know wetin you dey talk.

What's funny about this is that you just posted two pictures showing two instances where Sterling could have isolated Jackson for a tap in on goal, taking him to 16 goals for the season. Meanwhile, if you dig deep enough, you will find at least 4 extra instances where this could have happened across the length of the season.

You have inadvertently made an argument that a better 'support cast' than Sterling could have had Jackson scoring 19/20 non-penalty goals last season. grin grin grin grin

Full circle.

Egbon, Dovbyk was never 90m or 80m. I don't know where you manufactured these fees from. Can we say it's a function of your love for the wasteful Jackson to continue to miss our scoring chances until we throw him away like Morata that you also backed wrongly?

All I wanted is a striker better than your Jackson, in front of goal. If Dovbyk, Osimhen, Guirassy, Gyokeres are yamayama, then what should we call your Jackson, whose legs were said not to be straight? grin

Even that Santiago whatever that Nottingham want to buy for 30m is significantly better than Jackson, not to talk of the likes of Osimhen, Gyokeres, Dovbyk that have hit 25+ goals in a season. Even a juvenile like Guiu seems to look more decent than Jackson.

nateevs:

Last season we created the same number of big chances as Arsenal but we missed them significantly. Your Jackson had the highest xG among the strikers in the league but was shambolic. So, it's not a matter of any support cast, unless you want the support cast to always dribble the keeper and give Jackson the final pass before he can score.

Against City, Palmer and Mudryk/Neto were not that effective as they were not given enough space, but the only striker that could deliver the goal, as usual fired blanks and also rushed into offside position senselessly to score illegally.

No sane coach of a top club will go into the season with Jackson and Sterling as starters. Sterling has been axed, next is to get a replacement for Jackson. We want to compete for Epl trophy and not just to make top 4. We are not West Ham or Brighton.

What faulty premise? Sterling, worst case finished 4th in class. Okay? I'm not defending the player. I agree that he should be producing what Palmer did to keep his salary at CFC but the treatment of the player is unjustified. It is brash, uncouth and unprofessional. It is setting a bad precedent. Can't you see it?

Well, maybe because he understands that Jackson is wasteful and his legs are not straight, that's why he didn't trust him.

If Jackson couldn't score the empty net below, then there's little support cast can do for him.

What I see is a wake-up call for other players not giving their all. Nobody is beyond banishment, as you can only stay if you are delivering up to expectation.

Fraudiola should come and take him away.

Maresca is simply following orders. Nkuku was mostly ineffective on the left on Sunday and Raheem has played very well in all his games against City since leaving. You can only confuse slow people that freezing him out is anything tactical. And if treating current players is the way to get them off your books, I'm sorry but although Enzo is a Pep protégé I suspect he is going to be a monumental failure at Chelsea. Time will tell.

The best comment I've read from you. Ever.

People just don't get it until another mid table finish. None of Tosin , Fofana , Colwil , Viagra will start at ; City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, United, Newcastle , Crystal palace(if they keep Guehi). In fact, the best player at Chelsea (Palmer) will not walk straight to arsenal; a team who finished second last season. Jackson(first choice 9) will not start at Palace, Fulham, Brighton, Westeham, I don't know if Jackson will start for the top eleven or top 15 teams.

The strongest position and one of the best in the EPL is the midfield and the gaffer must take advantage if not, another mid table finish will be on the cards. That's the reality but people must live in denials.

Airmark talking about a player wrongly backed by someone. Funny.

Airmark spent one full season telling us how Vlahovic should have been signed by Poch. Now he's removed this one from his long list of strikers that should be signed.

Before then, it was Bellotti this, Bellotti that..... Now he wants this to disappear the affiliation like we didn't all see it. And he's talking about someone backing the wrong player. grin grin grin

As always, I leave this part to Dayo and Lordfalcao grin grin grin They have a list.

So with one picture, you argue that you support Sterling being banished for not making the right decisions in front of goal - for instance, passing the ball to Jackson for a tap in. But at the same time, you use the same picture to praise him for having the gumption of not passing to Jackson, because he knew Jackson will not score. grin grin grin grin

Apart from Palmer and Jackson who else was more productive than Raheem?
What do you mean by being "productive"?
If I define 'productive', It means efficiency and effectiveness.
Productivity is about making the most of your chances.
For instance, if one player scores 10 goals from 100 clear-cut chances, and another player scores 5 goals from just 7 chances, the latter is actually more productive, despite scoring fewer goals.
Sterling's stats might look good on paper, but trust me, he's not as productive as he seems,
don't be fooled by his stats, he's not as effective as they suggest, that's why I call him a 'extra tyre' he's not making the most of his opportunities. He won't be missed.
(but we might miss his missed chances.) 😆😁😂
