lol. We even do such things in 5 a side till today even on weekly basis. You hold off diving in, block the passing lane and try force the player on his weaker foot, then dive in on him just when he's about to pull the trigger. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, it's just about reducing the risk. I expect any professional defender to do similar thing except mumu defender like Luiz who will dive in and ensure 100% chance of a goal, when you can reduce it to 50% like VVD did.

If Aymeric Laporte or Jerome Boateng had done that, rest assured it would have been hailed as a masterclass. But no, it's Virgil Van Dijk, he can't do anything right.

Giroud is not a worse shooter than Griezmann. Giroud through on goal on his left foot is as dangerous as anything you wish to face. Giroud finishing is unquestionable, it's only lack of pace that does not allow him get in dangerous situations as often as Griezmann.

Son was not wide anything. One pass would have put Son one-on-one with Alison.
