I am shy (just now breaking out of that tho ) and sometimes guys would tell me that they mistake my shyness for "holding back". Sometimes shy women are "too slow" for guys who are straight forward in nature. I guess it depends on the guy's personality and patience. Shy girls don't necessarily qualify as "wife material" as some are undercover nightmares but others end up being some of the best wives in the end. Really, you never know.
