If they are jobless, we could have reference their act to joblessness, but they are gainfully employed with one of the best Banks. Should we now say the Bank doesn't really portray what we see on the outside. If the guys are well paid, then greed has come to play and they shuould face the outcome. No wonder you see the bankers sometimes living far above their income. Nigerian youth and fastlane riches! na wa o!

As much as I don't like robbery or any form of irresponsible act, GTB should, as a matter of importance, do something to improve the welfare of their staff. The issue of contract staff in banking is their making and they use these guys the same way they use their core counterpart except that they dont handle some sensitive areas. I know what I am talking about and at the same time I had first hand experience of bank robbery not in GTB though. I would never pray that my worst enemies experience it. The rate of staff involvement in fraud and robberies is more pronnounced in GTB than any other. Even if they will retain the services of their outsourcing firm which is owned by an insider, let there by some decency.

Also, this goes out to the poster that was complained about the bank using mainly contract staff for their operations. Am sure if you knew a thing in organization structures and efficiency you will sure agree its the way to go. Besides, it's a job so if the employees are not cool with it they can always leave. We all know there segregation between OND/HND and BSc holders. Kindly educate us on the largest employer of OND/HND if not GTBank. Lets give them some credit now

The only good thing you have written is that 'they are given jobs'.

But, even then they segregate, and you know it. If not, why are they not paid as much as the full staffs?

This issue is peculiar to most banks, but like you have rightly pointed out.... 'GT is the largest employer of OND/HND candidates'.

SO, where's the credit in that?

This is not their first time...just that "their cup don full".

I lost a colleague like this a few years ago. They followed him from Zenith and chased him all the way. He refused to stop and that infuriated them so much that when they finally intercepted him, they shot him till he died b4 carting away the millions in the boot. Cute boy ... an only son. Heart-wrenching for the parents.

Why would some idiots suggest that these guys should be killed without facing the law court,i believed your naivety about happenings in Nigeria makes you think so.Where did u put the likes of Ibori,Alameisigha, igbinedion, and so many "souls murderers" we hear about during the recent probes in the National Assembly,Oil,SEC,Pension,Sports, etc, can u tell me how many Nigerian has lost their lives because these set of people deprived them of their EXISTENCE?Here am not saying these guys are right neither do they have any moral standing to perpetrate the evil act but if it is true that they organized the botched robbery operation, many of them are usually moved by the number of stealing going in the country without any long arm of the law catching up on the thieves.if you go to GTbank,90% of the work force is casual staff, and these are employees who sees millions/billions everyday being passed around by the Directors and Govt Cronies and they are paid a meagre salary less than a HUNDRED THOUSAND NAIRA,while they watch billions stacked in one thieves account which they managed as an account officers.Although,i was a staff of GTbank but after almost 3 years i decided to quit because there is no future for you as a contract staff in Gtbank and i quitted honorably but today i thank God.Unless they change the employees orientation on their "QUALITY OF WORK LIFE", they will continue to steal and arrange mercenaries to rob banks where they work as this is not the first time things of these nature will happen in Gtbank. And there are several banks with this situation too,so its not peculiar to Gtbank. In conclusion, until and unless,Govt enacts a law which will make it enforceable that public embezzlement is capital punishment, contract staffing becomes criminal offence, your tax is progressively proportional to what you own,any assets not declared by public official is forfeited to the state, and any other suggestion you could think of.

They should be charged to court and not beaten and battered or how long will it take our police to to catch up with a civilised way of policing. High profile govt officials who steal in billions of Naira walk our steets in kingly fashion. Those among them dragged to court by our toothless EFCC are treated like kings in police custody and are quickly granted bails. They eventually get discharged and acquited like in the case of James Ibori after series of court adjournments.
While I give kudos to the police for the good job done in getting the accused arrested, I beleive they shouild not be maimed before being takeen to court.

It is unfortunate that they were beaten like that but in a country like Nigeria, Africa.........they need to make a glamorous spectacle of armed robbers so that onlookers who have intentions of doing the same thing would think twice about it........this example is not just for GTB......it is for all banks in Lagos.......reality of it is these armed robbers will kill any innocent person who gets in their way so this is nothing compared to what they would have done if the tables were turned.........
