Liverpool have today confirmed that the iconic Kenny Dalglish is back at the club he has played for and managed, and will be helping manager Rafa Benitez in a role at the club's academy, as well as acting as a club ambassador.

His ambassadorial duties will include helping the club's commercial and business operations around the world.

Reds managing director Christian Purslow was delighted to welcome the Scotsman back to Anfield, telling the club's official website, "In our very first meeting Rafa and I agreed that we wanted to try and bring Kenny back to the club to help Rafa really drive forward our academy which is at the heart of our plans for the future.

"We are delighted he has agreed to join us and I am sure he will be very successful in his new role back at the club."

Dalglish collected a host of trophies during a lengthy career at Anfield, and is rememebered for, amongst many other heroic feats, scoring the Reds' winner against Club Brugge in the 1978 European Cup Final At Wembley.
