JeSoul: Odunnu, I see. Like Christianity and Muslim, you have already started threatning to ban people who as much as post on a thread marked Christians only. Ofcourse the threads will have the advantage of being sticked at the top for the World to stumble on it first. This is how rational you religionists have become. I am proposing a section for atheists or atleast another moderator from atheists. Nothing bad in having two mods in one scetion. |
Re: Christianity For Christians. by UyiIredia(m): 5:06pm On Jun 11, 2012 |
With the various sects of Christian I've seen (Jehovah Witnesses, Catholics et al)I think such a section will be as good as the Religion section which we already have. I think Odunnu is looking at the Pentecostal brand of Chrstianity. |

kandiikane: it isnt about you talking on the religion board. You made a comment on a thread I started on romance section. I ddnt thnk u were a Muslim then. The proverb is about someone throwing a stone in the market. That stone could hit his family member.you know, I cld av insulted u thnkn u were a non Muslim..dats d interpretation |

Per John Gray http://www.abc.net.au/religion/articles/2012/01/09/3213725.htm Also http://www.investigatingatheism.info/johngray.html Zealous atheism renews some of the worst features of Christianity and Islam. Just as much as these religions, it is a project of universal conversion. Evangelical atheists never doubt that human life can be transformed if everyone accepts their view of things, and they are certain that one way of living - their own, suitably embellished - is right for everybody. |

lastpage: Hmmmmmm....Nigerians and their penchant for "Religion" ....without any modicum of spirituality! That video is HORRID!I wonder many a time at the type of hate on NL. seriously, it is strage that the power sector have issues with supplying electricity to Nigerians. The energy generated from the hate on Nairaland would be able to light up Nigeria for the next 50years! We do not need more haters. Even Christians are divided amongst themselves. Many people go to their different places of worship on their worship days, wear the "clothes of devout practitioners of their faith"; and as soon as they leave the arena of their worship, they leave their "worship clothes" at the door steps of their places of worship and wear the wolves skin straight into the world. If we practice what we preach in all sincerity, we will be much more tolerant of each other regardless of region, culture etc and Nigeria will be a nicer place to be. I believe NL should be neutral on religious matters. No special section for ANY religious group. |

We want a Christian section |
Re: Christianity For Christians. by mandy4s: 4:22am On Jun 12, 2012 |
Odunnu: I have quietly observed the happenings in this section and to say i'm saddened each time I come here is an understatement. I really dont know how to express it without mentioning names stepping on toes and starting a fight. The bottomline is that I want an exclusively Christian section where I can express my faith online, with an equally christian Moderator. CAPITAL NO! YOU WANT TO START FACTIONS AND CREATE DIVIDE ON NAIRALAND WITH YOUR RELIGION PROBLEMS ABI? I WONDER WHY CHRISTIANS ARE ALWAYS THE FIRST TO SAY THESE THINGS THAT END UP IN BIGOTRY. THIS IS NAIRALAND! IT WAS INTENDED FOR NIGERIANS AND NOT A SELECTED AS THAT WILL BE SELLFISH. SO IF YOU CANT COPE, FIND AN XTIAN SITE ONLINE AND JOIN AND STOP TRYING TO CAUSE FRICTION HERE!!!!! 2 Likes |

true, these atheists lack manners and are out of control, but they only show themselves up by their posts here. no be energy dem get to be disturbing everybody? when they're tired they should retire and let us know who are the new batch coming in. its a very wrong move to base your faith and/or beliefs on nl. |

So Oga Seun, are we getting a section? Havent seen your post here yet. [s]abi you want me to come and cook another afang soup for you first since I cant threaten you[/s] |
Re: Christianity For Christians. by ckkris: 9:33am On Jun 12, 2012 |
Odunnu shouldn't be making afang soup, that's what Ekaette does superlatively. Just make bitter leaf soup, or, uziza that works wonders in the romantic rainy season. But don't create any christian section, ain't necessary, ain't wise. 1 Like |

Oga Seun after 6 pages i think it only fair you let these Christians know whether or not you are going to give them a separate board.I don't know why Nigerians only respond to threats & coercion.A fatwa was almost declared on your head & you quickly succumbed to save your neck from rampaging Muslims. Now you're being asked nicely & politely & for all they know they might be talking to a stone.Haba! Not nice at all 2 Likes |

Typical behaviour with atheists. They tend to be very narcissistic. |
Re: Christianity For Christians. by ckkris: 11:20am On Jun 12, 2012 |
@cold, Thanks for summarising the difference between Christianity and Islam. The Christian belle uses afang or uziza to persuade, but you saw the video of Tunisian fatwa, which is occurs frequently in Nigeria. And the christian belle usually prevails, but perhaps not in this case. |

Miroslav klose: This is classic. As a muslim u're allowed to insult non Muslim but ignore Muslims? bravooooo you obviously didnt get my point. What I mean is, I ddnt expect a Muslim to give that kind of comment. I cld av related it to his being a nonMuslim and would av been wrong. I really dont like discussions with people who cant read between the lines. Look well, I dont go about insulting pple irrespective of their religion. |

Re: Christianity For Christians. by dekung(m): 5:24pm On Jun 12, 2012 |
@Jesoul, Thank you very much for your response. while I agree with you that Davidylan has not posted for a while on this forun, it doesnt still remove the fact that the guy is unrpentantly insolent. While it may be true that he has apologised to you (I have NEVER come accross his apologies), he, like logicboy asserts, goes arround in a loop of insulting and appologising. His case would be like the case of a husband who assaults his wife then apologises then assaults then appologises then assualts then apologises......... I could go on forever. I know you try to be fair to all and maintain a somewhat matured approach to moderating the fact still remains you are more favourably disposed to Christian apologetics. I know some atheists here could be a pain in the neck but I would dare say a lot of them would rather attack the issue and not the person. I am an agnost and am proud of it (even tho I have loads of christian friends and associates) and I try veeeery hard not to insult people but some Christians here have succeded countless time in unleashing the insultive animal in me. I know religious people are very passionate about what they believe and may act violently towards people do not share in the belief system (I was like that too 8 years ago when I met the first atheist in my life) but we need to learn to be tolerant of one another. We need to understand that we were first of all human beigns before we chose what to believe and wether we like it or not, these belief system are alien to us all, even to the europeans who brought it to us. Now to the topic of discussion..... I do not think we need a separate section. Like I said earlier, even the Islamic section should be merged. Anyone who is too thin skinned to take the heat should not bother to come to Nairaland again. The brain behind Nairaland is an atheist this ten goes to say that NL is an atheist creation whatever is then done to accomodate religion should be seen as a gift and not a right. The OP wants a separate section because she is not comfortable with the way Oyedepo, Adeboye et al are being constantly bashed. This is understandable, however, Christ Embassy has yukoos so she can visit that site to enjoy fellowshi with her God. Again, Nairaland was created by an atheist, theists should either stay away or cope with whatever is posted on NL 3 Likes |

So, the site admin didnt make a comment for or against and I took it to his 'doormot' like my people will say. His reply, ''is it going to increase traffic?'' Brethren, you have it. What next? |

Odunnu: So, the site admin didnt make a comment for or against and I took it to his 'doormot' like my people will say. was that the question they asked before creating the muslim section? this shows that there is a big bias against christianity on nairaland, what else do you expect when the owner is an atheist and the second-in-command is a muslim. 1 Like |

You know what this is? imagine a three year old child asking his middle class parents for an airplane with no idea on what it takes to get one. Parents buy a toy one and problemo solved. Y do U think a "christian" section will solve your atheist invasion problem? Has anyone bothered to have a look at d Islamic section? Atheist still troll just for d fun of it lol. Re: Christianity For Christians. by Nobody: 5:36am On Jul 17, 2012 |
I have no idea how i missed this thread. My2cents - creating a special section for christians will not solve any problem. I am opposed to it even more because at no time did Christ or the early christians try to pigeonhole themselves into an exclusive "sinners not allowed" Zone. Once this is granted, what differentiates us from the muslims we constantly decry as sensitive and intolerant? |

Re: Christianity For Christians. by Nobody: 5:43am On Jul 17, 2012 |
Richvkunt: The Muslims managed to coerce the administrator to give them an exclusive section moderated by Muslims, now the Christians are demanding their own exclusive section moderated by Christians too. While i think it is fair that what is good for the goose is also good for the gander,I wonder if the administrator has not created a Frankenstein monster here, and where will it stop? That WILL NOT happen. without christians to bash, atheists will cease to exist on the religion section. Lets be honest... these atheists cannot survive without their steady diet of bible bashing. They've got nothing else to say to each other. 1 Like |
