ferdimako: they said my application is not as competitive as others. I guess i didn't package my application very well. But i dnt tink is my grade. If you want to apply, try τ̅☺ write a competitive letter of intent, good reference letter, n writing sample. If you can put those tins right, i tink u're good to go. I spoke with one admission officer cos i wanted to re apply, n he gave those recommendations. But i've changed my mind to MUN n UofR |

Please pple, if my father has no business I am coming back to, and I have no spouse, and I'm still jobless after NYSC, what can be the content of statement of purpose for such person? Because this home tie thing na problem. Make these VOs sef open brain down say no one wey step into Canny go come back... Infact, I never hear am b4. Pls help, what other ideas can be chipped in? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by Nobody: 6:48pm On Mar 06, 2013 |
dommakavelli: Dear all, Its nice knowing u guys are doing well. University of British Columbia is a high ranking school. Very very competitive. I said it b4 in my previous post in all u need to know abt the admission process. When applying to a high ranking school, also apply to a middle class school in case dt one fails. U need a good GP, letter of intent, recommendation, etc you maybe surprised dt dt year, d no of 1st class they received applicatn frm surpass dt available slots, so where will a 3.9 fall in ? At times they may even deny 4.4 depending on d class of applicatn they received. The good thing is dt after attending such schools, u will ever be proud of d school u attended. I think d school even ranks among best 50 or 100 in d world. |

Etinosajay: @All @earthgreeners @Fhemmy @justwise I sent all my document via NIPOST, it takes between 7-10 working days.... If you stay in Lagos, use the NIPOST Office at NAHCO aviance (Hajj Camp-NAHCO, Airport road), or the one at MMIA (Airport).... Register it so you can track it on www.canadapost.com |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by Etinosajay(m): 9:44pm On Mar 06, 2013 |
earthgreeners: I live in Benin. I'll find out if there is a similar service though. I sent out a parcel via Nipost ordinary post february 6th, it took a little more than 3 wks to be delivered. D next that I need to deliver, needs to arrive sooner, within 17 days actually, that's why I'm opting for registered mail, if it will seem to be quicker than ordinary postage. |

teexzle: Interestd in ds ? Pls,kindly assist, am in d same shoes now..thanks IMO, the best reason is to state and try to show that ur uncle has supported you in the past. And of course prove that he is capable (financially). Stating a few or no dependants is also critical. You might also want to add your dad or mom as a secondary sponsor. And show your own account too, no matter how negligible d closing balance may be. What's important is the account activity. Any payment which your supposed sponsor (uncle) might have made in the past, which reflects on your personal account statement, is a good way to show that he has catered financially for you in the past. That's my 2 cents like Delta007 used to say |

Bro, that assumption being true for everyone, that no one will return upon entering canada on study purposes. I agree, but if dem follow am 100% then TRV na history for everyone. They just want you to prove at least that you'll be smart or hardworking enough to care for yourself in Canada. In your own case, your SOP should firstly be d no-brainer. You should poor passion into what you write, which obviously should be related to ur UG (I.e for a PG applicant). For an UG applicant, try to show evidence of extracurricular activities which align with ur UG study area that you were involved in from high school. Another thing is to add birth records for your siblings. It might work. See yourself as a sales man, you sell yourself well, they buy. I'll stop there, you complete the rest. That's ma 2 cents!!! 1 Like |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by Etinosajay(m): 11:20pm On Mar 06, 2013 |
deebla: I want to assume you have been practising how to write an SOP before. List out your points, and then compose a awe and intriguingly convincing SOP. Because u wouldn't be there to explain to the VO, but ur sop might do some work about that. That's ma 2 cents broda |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by deebla: 11:24pm On Mar 06, 2013 |
Etinosajay: @All @earthgreeners @Fhemmy @justwise If its NIPOST, U might want to chill till that woman who is 5months pregnant in your hood delivers the baby in her womb... But if the NIPOST you mean is EMS speed post... It takes exactly one week to get ur documents delivered to a location in Canada |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by deebla: 11:31pm On Mar 06, 2013 |
Etinosajay: Alright 2cent, thanks... But I jst need a point U need to give him to explain you will come back. Its easier to write why one wants to study a course and why Canada.... But that reason why one 'll leave Canada in his/her right and correct senses and come back to Nigeria, if not family, spouse or family business/earlier employment, my brother, I wan know |
