Nigerias economic outlook is what we have in brazil today, vibrant oil and gas industry, mechanised agriculture, stable power, enormous human resources, all these factors are highly essential and we have even more of that. Kudos to Mr President. |

The visit which is on the invitation of President Jonathan is to seek Brazilian expertise in the areas of mechanized agriculture, power generation and other sectors that Brazil has comparative advantage over Nigeria. Cool move GEJ! Aside from her obvious interest and commitments in our power sector, Brazil is a leader in many fields Nigeria might be interested in, especially ethanol production. ALL Brazilian cars run on a mixture of ethanol and petrol; the is NO car in todays Brazil that runs on 100% petrol. They have corn for ethanol production, we have cassava which produces high grade ethanol. So why not? Brazil is also a World leader in the production of beef, they could show us a thing or two about how not to walk cows from Sokoto to Warri and make millions. They have one of the most advanced agri-industrial technological bases in the World and would make much better partners than most other countries. It could be a match made in heaven. Go GEJ! Fresh Air! |

Delafruita: i still maintain that jonathan shouldnt have gone to brazil for any reason.however,if he is indeed able to get the brazilians to come and invest, then thats a plus to him.leadership isnt always about doing the seemingly right thing, its about taking steps to make people's lives better even if they dont approve of the process.for those citing boko haram as a hinderance to investment,i hope they realise the bboko haram menace is limited to some states in the north.we have 36 states in this country and each state has investment potentials.mexico has its drugs problems but that hasnt stopped foreign investors.same as colombia, cuba and even zimbabwe.businessmen want to make money and will go anywhere money can be made I love this post. |

kingoflag: You always recite the same old daft lies, yet you confess to having never spent more than two weeks of your entire life in Nigeria. The best thing you can do for yourself, is buy a ticket and learn where exactly your village is. I'm not even sure you know what its called. |

ogugua88: Nigerians suffer from severe lack of prioritizing. I can't even advise my friends to go home, let alone bring a whole Brazilian leader and his delegation of businessmen. We have no shame.my pretty nwanne, you got my heart dripping blood with this comment of yours. Well, knowing too well you are not resident here, the situation in the north is one of delibrate effort to destroy the new foundation of hope of our dear country by a few brasen hussy's, they don't care how but wish they make governance frustrating for GEJ, they have exelled in cajoling many to their silly state of pity but not my type. WITHOUT any apology, the north can tear themselves apart for all I care, in as much as the innocents are safe. Acn is an opposition, why are the yoruba's not harming a moth. Silly islamic punks... |

Have a heart! Many of the affected, no matter how much you try to deny it are northerners but first and foremost, human beings with flesh and blood like you. They did not ask to be blown to be pieces. They did not sign on to having their lives snuffed out as if meaningless. They simply wake up each day seeking to live yet another day, only to have some hoodlums, decide it should be their last. Your Northerners who you pretend are all behind this, are themselves trying hard to make sense of what is going on and why instead of getting better, it is becoming NORMAL for the whole nation, and the world, to watch the dead carcasses of their loved ones strewed all over the streets. And what did they do to deserve that? Many of them have never harmed you or your own, yet you accuse them of the problems of the nation. You accuse them of ruining your precious nation. 1 Like |

Bemigho, what has me not knowing the names of all the villages in Nigeria got to do with the Price of Cassava Bread in Aso Rock? Arent you even ashamed that as rich as Nigeria is its predominantly made up of 11th Century type villages? A visiting investor is what some are celebrating when we are having many investor moving their investments to other African country. Without guaranteed security and availability of an enviroment that encourages investment all those invited investors would never invest a penny in Nigeria. Our Prez should make the country friendly enough for those in it b4 roaming the world with an entourage of 167 begging people to come invest in Nigeria. 1 Like |

GEJ well done. I know the northerners will try everything in their power to stop the Brazilian president + delegates visit to Nigeria cause they will launch their bombing campaign so that they will have to cancel their coming for security reasons. |

DaRapture:Brazil is today among the BRICS countries(emerging economies) from her lowly position as a 3rd world Country only a few years ago. If Nigeria is to follow in this path, then closer ties must be built with Nations that have gone that way before us. I think this is in line with the transformation agenda of economic diplomacy and a further demonstration of this administration's resolve to soldier on with transformation instead of dignifying the antics of sore losers, haters and merchants of terror who have no consideration for the future of this country |

Akshow: tell them o. Tell the idiotic praise singersWhat the even more idiotic, senseless and myopic critics fail to realise is that business men will go anywhere there is investment opportunity; from Iraq to Afghanistan to Libya and other crises ridden areas and that despite the orgy of violence in isolated parts of the North, the majority of the Country is still safe, secure and ready for business and investors. |

Re: Brazilian President To Lead Delegation Of Businessmen To Nigeria by Nobody: 8:19am On Jun 22, 2012 |
IF and only IF they come, they would see the situation on ground themselves with their koro koro eyes then forward march to Ghana. Just like others have done in the past. With respect to the guy that sat on the plane with whites, I have seen this occurrence several times and most of them are rough necks/oil executives and their final destination is port Harcourt. Others not going to port Harcourt are working for development agencies trying to alleviate poverty in Nigeria. |
