spiceeamiee:Do you do this every day? I want to believe you do this once in a while spiceeamiee. I'm aware this method is used when a baby has thrush. |

Dunno how old your baby is but my mum started backing my baby when she was three week old. For clear skin, I use original Shea butter mixed with virgin coconut oil. It started to darken my baby though so I started using it intermittently with Chicco cream but my baby's skin is the smoothest. No rash, no anything. The grunting thing is what I called colic ( I think?). You can try gripe water and Infacol although they did not work for us. Consistently massage your baby's tummy with slightly hot water (above warm temperature). Do this three times a day unfailingly and continue till about 3months even when he no longer grunts. goodfortun: |

Giddyperson: I still want to try water melon (I believe it is milder) if drinking flavoured water is the surest way to get him taking water very well. Oranges (citrus fruits in general) are acidic in nature and I don't want his stomach to go and be turning. |
Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by hunniesuzie: 12:42pm On Oct 09, 2017 |
Citrus fruits aren't really advised for babies cos of how acidic they are so once in a while to motivate poo is fine. JGracious thanks for the tip, will try watermelon too Giddyperson: |

Hello super mamas, Please for mamas that have playmats- does it have foam that is sufficient enough to cushion the effect of falling? I ask because all my ds wants to practice now is standing. Even when I put him on the normal mat to avoid falling from the bed. He attempts standing without support and sometimes end up falling down on his bum or hitting his head. My hands are aching from carrying him upandan... |

Benignasweety: I don't know about using ribena as a sweetener. Personally I will prefer natural foods /fruits as sweetners. You can get a potato masher if you don't have a blender. It works fine for my apple puree, rice pudding...you only need to get what you're mashing soft. check the stores for a potato masher. you fit get one in your kitchen already sef. 1 Like

Lol, she's eating boiled plantain? That's baby food nah. Mash/blend it with boiled deboned titus/chicken/liver/beef nd give her. Try potato too, sweet or irish Yesitsme: My boy don turn big boy now now! God bless him. No, it's too sweet. I have one small hand masher that I use sometimes. Just boil the fruits soft and mash. No need to boil banana sef. Also your baby may be like mine that doesn't even eat sweetened pap sef Benignasweety: Mine has foam and works well for falling but I may need to replace it soon, LO found a way to peel the mat and he tries to eat the peeled portion. I saw an unpeelable one but it's 16k (say who die nah) For now I just cut off the peeled portion so he doesn't swallow it Note that once you put the mat, your baby may find his way to the "unmatted" part of the floor to practice his standing, these babies ehn...Me I try not to stress myself again JGracious: |

hunniesuzie: Thank you Hunniesuzie. I'll find better use for that 16k instead. His grandma has suggested that I should go to all this foam sellers to buy the thickness I feel it's okay, give it to a tailor to sew cover on it for me. 1 Like |

Giddyperson: add oats to her meals. once a day or every other day. It has fibre and adds pooping. Also this combo :millet + soybeans + guinea corn..it's also very awesome and conquers constipation. If you can also find Gerber rice with DHA + probiotics, it's amazing 3 Likes

Benignasweety: You don't need sweeteners. The cereal + milk is already sweet. Fruits is to add extra flavor and more nutrients. 1 Like |

Yesitsme:This is so my baby. She's rejected all the baby food I've bought so far including formula. I've noticed she just doesn't want sweet food, she prefers food that tastes like adult food. Did u try putting crayfish in the millet/soybean combo. My baby loves August secrets foods especially when I put crayfish, but she won't eat it if I add formula. I think you should just cook whatever it is she likes to eat. |

Benignasweety: No ribena can't serve as a sweetener! In fact it's discouraged except in cases like Giddy's where baby isn't drinking water readily if you get me. From my experience with my boys sweeteners aren't always necessary infact I've never given to my children till they were much older. Cereal with or without milk is all they were fed as babies. One mum here was gracious enough to share how to make date syrup it's worth giving it a shot! Just read back a few pages and you'd find it The purées too aren't so bad nor are they that cumbersome to prepare but of course only if convenient! Good luck and hope this helps! |

Benignasweety: u dont need a blender for banana - u can use a fork or spoon apple is softer once cooked, just cut into much smaller bit before cooking, so u can easily mash with a fork afterwards |
