My baby suffers from gas too..she is 2months. My mum usually presses her tuummy n back wit hot water n wash cloth. Also make sure she burps after every feeding. And put her to lay on her tummmy often...they pass out gas a lot in dat position. don't worry she will out grow it. #hugs

From 0-3 month, it will heal d umbilical cord very well but not when d cord has not fallen o. It won't do ur baby any harm. At least our mothers did same thing for or and we r doing fine. Talking from experience.

I also had same isth after my delivery. I ws prescribed Ducolax suppository 20mg. Wch I inserted in my anus once. It did helped.

I had same issues 2 it took me almost 2wk b4 I cld get rid of it..even though I took lots of veggies I gues it has 2 do wit bowel movt bt wat assisted me was I took moko liquid paraffin oil its drinkable wch makes d stool easy 4 passage.. all d best

How about juice? Lots of it! Though it may make your baby stool a bit.

It came at 10mg each. So I inserted 2 of it. Preferably during d day so it doesn't disturb ur sleep at night.
For price, I can't tell cos DH got it while i ws still in d hospital. But it isn't expensive. Nt more than 200naira at most.

@ comtem2011 Thanks a lot Ma'am.I seriously pray she outgrows it soon.her umblicus have healed but there's one hard stuff around d umblicus is it something to worry about.it pops up wen she's crying or straining

@Tatacherie it has nothing to do with the umblical chord. her digestive system is not yet developed fully, hence the body isnt processing gas well.

your baby is suffering from Colic . sadly, it has no cure. People say infancol and gripe water works, but it doesnt. Feel free to try it - God knows i did out of desperation when my first child almost drove me to the brink of insanity with her ceaseless cries.

Good news is it passes at three months / 12 weeks

What helped me manage it then was:

1. make sure your baby burps after all feedings - even if she isnt the type that burps easily, try try and try even if it takes as long as 30 mins

2. Does your baby have head control? can she turn her head when lying down? try putting her to sleep on her tummy - SUPERVISED (As in check on her from time to time to ensure her nose isnt blocked)

3. Watch your diet - eliminate beans and beans product, milk and dairy product, any other food that causes gas even in adult

While bathing her too, drop warm water in her anus, you will see her passing gas or even pooing. They feel relieved after that.
You may need to reduce eating foods dat cause gassiness eg. nuts, beans etc
You may need to get infacol, it's an OTC med for colic
Colic peaks as from 6wks of age and subsides before 4months of age.

I got d soap and cream but used only d soap, d cream is here, but might give it a try wen the sebamed am using gets finished cos it's to expensive to waste oh.

my dear u can do exclusive. its not easy I had a challenge too bt I stopped formulae around 3 weeks and continued ebf. baby s now 16 weeks and bouncing. his weight s something else and he s so healthy. just make sure u eat well. pap and bitter leaf soup give
me excess milk when I feel low otherwise other days are just enough for him.

@favouregal, what am saying is that as they are pressing and massaging the tummy it will heal from outside to inside. the navel use to pain them that's why they are crying cos the navel is attached with d intestine, so d place has to be massaged for quick relief. I also have a five months old baby and I know what am talking about. while I asked if d cord has fallen is to avoid infection cos it can be pressed while its still there. our parents did most of d things we are avoiding for us and we r doing fine.
