that mark u gave is a pass mark though a bad one.
Sha, I know this is far better than portfolio sites of even some 'big' webdesign company.
On ur last statement, we webdesigners always see d simplicity of our work, hence, we commonise n dont find it attractiv even wen it is.

Yes, even if I give it a "1", it is still a pass mark in my eyes because I am not a designer. Creativity is relative. Having said that, I don't eat amala either yet I can appreciate one that is well made from one that isn't.

If I were you, I wouldn't focus much on the "big" companies. Again, everything is relative. Big is just a numbers game and doesn't necessarily reflect expertise. Figure out what they lack, beat them at their game and become the new "big" company. That's what I am doing.
