Check your contract of employment if it does not forbid dating please enjoy the journey life is to be lived. To be i'll say is perfectly ok but you need to be more matured when at the office and avoid any situation that will seem more favourable to the partner in question

I dont see anything wrong with office dating. Everyone should rather be careful to find out if its agaisnt company policy or rules. But if it is allowed, then carry go.
Personally, since my college days back in Nigeria, i made it a personal rule never to date within the same circles ie, no classmates, no co-workers, and persons in same club. Thats personal though.

I am unsure how I would handle the situation mentioned, but I should think the best thing to do would be to bow out as gracefully as I could although I had already compromised myself. I work in an organisation that encourages "in-sourcing" and a number of my colleagues are happily (i guess) married to each other (neither can be the other's oga at work)---
However, personally? i don't think I'd do it. For a whole gamut of reasons. Besides the fact that marriage is constantly in danger of getting bo-o-oring, in short, money issues, performance issues, ego issues, ur colleagues professional and personal opinions---issues!!!

i am totally against it cos i just fell a victim recently.my girlfriend dumped me for someone in her working place just because of the closeness they were having with each other.the worst of this is that this madness is happening in a bank.i wont say she is doing it for the money cos i still earn far more than the both of them.its just lust to me cos i dont see why u can claim u are working and that your mind is on your job and u can still have time to enter a relationship especially when you have a boyfriend that is ready to take u down the aisle at anytime.i am totally against it.its crazy

two people in one office can date because i know that a guy can be in the same office with his wife and they will still concentrate in their work so with two young lovers, infact in my office i had one like that and they work perfectly well together until one resigned because of their wedding. so you see you can find your missing rib any where even in the same office.

if you go against office dating on the bases that it wont last then i tell you u should not date at all,

if you go against it on the bases that its immoral then you dont need to date at all, that makes dating in it sence immoral.

Hi All,

I, formerly was against dating someone in the same office, until I met a dashing, down to earth, kind man, who started out as my friend and then transcended into a bonding relationship. He is in the MIS department while am in Finance, both in Head Office and we have been dating for 6 months and wedding bells have started jingling.

Our relationship is ok because we both are busy and see for atmost 30 minutes during lunch hour, so wa aren't in each other's faces or spaces, and we don't lurk in dark corners to catch a quick kiss or otherwise, because its childish.

So, office romance is ok only if the people involved are matured about it, and are not in the same department.

Anybody read the book Mafia Manager? It sounded a very strong warning: do not date your office girl (ur colleague), she might turn out to be ur boss mistress or ur boss could even be eyeing her or had actually toasted her and she didnt want to tell you. That could place you on fire till u get the hell out of the godamn place. I had an ugly experience!!!!!
