Webmasters / Problems With Wordpress Theme Development by ace1(m): 4:53pm On Oct 24, 2012 |
Good day fellow Nairalanders, I'm new to WordPress theme development and I'm having problems with my home.php template page. I want to show the title, excerpt and a thumbnail of the featured image of the about page, two posts (title, Thumbnail and excerpt) from a category named events, and thumbnail images of post from a category named gallery on the home page. I've tried using the code below but still not working. I've attached a screenshot of what I'm trying to achieve Thanks ********************CODE********************** <?php query_posts('cat=2', 'posts_per_page=2'); if(have_posts()) while(have_posts()):the_post(); ?> <div class="txt"> <div class="image"> <?php $test = catch_that_image(); if(empty($test)) { ?><img src="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri().'/images/default1.jpg'; ?>"/> <?php } else {?> <a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark"><img src="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri().'/lib/thumb.php'; ?>?src=<?php echo catch_that_image(); ?>&h=100&w=100&zc=1"/></a><?php } ?> </div> <p><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></p> <p> <?php the_content() ; ?> </p> <div class="clear"></div> </div> <?php endwhile; wp_reset_query(); ?> ********************CODE********************** |

Crime / Re: Elechi Amadi Defends Aluu Community by ace1(m): 12:16am On Oct 20, 2012 |
Its funny how we feel so comfortable lying to ourselves. Most people here saying the whole of Aluu community is evil and should be wiped out will not waste time 2 call me a religious or tribal bigot if I say they're ritualist cos their name's chukwuemeka or boko haram cos their name's Abdulahi. We as Nigerians wanna hear d truth only if we're are comfortable with it. Sometime in 2010, an innocent student was beaten to death by Man o'war boys inside boys hostel. D school athourities came out 2 say dat the Man O'war boys weren't students. D only thing dat was done was Man O'war was stopped in uniport. D killers where not found and d case died a natural death. Guess dat makes every lecturer, and everybody who graduated 4rm uniport a killer? And to add, I'm not in support of the killing of dose boys and I also do not support people cursing the people of Aluu. B4 u start insinuating, I'm not from Aluu. I just decided not 2 allow sentiments cloud my reasoning. |

Crime / Re: 3 Students Burnt To Death In Uniport by ace1(m): 11:41pm On Oct 05, 2012 |
From the stories I've read so far and from updates from students who r staying around dat Aluu area, dese boys are not thieves. A lot of people seem to be saying they're cultist. They're just using robbery to cover up for killing dese guys. I don't know any of them but its sad. If dese boys where indegenes of Aluu community, will dey be treated in dis same manner?

Music/Radio / Re: Did Psquare Steal Timaya's 'Bum Bum Song For Alingo? by ace1(m): 8:09am On Aug 18, 2012 |
TCD: YES I listened to both songs and replayed them side by side. oh so now its no longer them "lifting verses" its now using "Timaya's Style"? Anyone who sings reaggae is copying bob marley, right? Or who sings RnB is copying R kelly. All RnB songs sound alike in some way and that's no crime. That's why they are grouped under the same genre of music. So if psquare decide to make a dance track from Timaya's genre how is that a crime? Most new songs I hear especially from upcoming artistes sound like that, everybody knows dance tracks like that are in demand. Inyanya's hit song kukere has the exact same beat wonder what you folks are crying about. Even Timaya got dat singing pattern from Frank D'Nero's song titled "Banger" buh he made his own sound diff a bit. P Square just lifted everything. If u avnt heard "Banger", I pasted the link on this thread. Listen and let's see if u'll still be defending P Square |

P Square's Alingo wasn't copied from Timaya. It was copied from Frank D'Nero's song titled Banger. They know the song isn't that popular dats y they jacked it. If you doubt it, here's the link to banger. Even d production sounds alike.. Listen n b d judge: http:///d9sjt7vi97nk |

Decryptor: Seun will never add the deactivate account button because he "gets kicks" from seeing the number of registered NL users soar upward. He's currently waiting for when it will hit 1,000,000 members. Introducing the deactivation button will reverse that trend/ambition. If the deactivation button is introduced and a user deactivates his/her accounts, what will happen 2 informative and educative post made by these users. I for one av learnt a lot from Nairaland dats y I'm saying dis 1 Like |

onatisii: I'm not a moderator if u must know, just a regular NL user buh its people like u dat kill the main aim of dis site. If u don't understand something, ask questions instead of acting like u know everything. I agree some of the mods aren't doing their jobs buh is dat enuff reason to accuse them of selling emails? Even someone wrote that mods have access to users passwords. That's stupidity cos passwords are encrypted before they are saved in the database and Seun is not a today developer to take his site security lightly. |

Nairaland / General / Re: Nairaland Did Not Send You That E-Mail! by ace1(m): 12:33pm On Aug 16, 2012 |
Seun: Your email address is never exposed on NL2. Moderators and super-moderators can't get your email address. No matter how much u try to explain, they will neva understand because they don't listen, instead they'll be claiming they know more u than u even do. You've done well by informing people about this 2 Likes |
