Really? Hope you don see the ashawo wey you dey find? Let me guess you are one of the muslims f.ucking behind the scenes and shouting Hijab implementation. Like your Pedophile fake prophet Muhammad (may his soul rot in hell)

https://www.nairaland.com/4792694/please-kongified-soul

You're a foolish ret.arded idiot. Do you know why you are? This particular thread was talking about the protest UI students had last year which was led by the SU president consigning issues directly affecting UI students. This has nothing to do with ISI.

But the nincompoop that you are wouldn't care to read the main content but will just rush to comment.
The idiot even went to dig up my thread. I can see you don't have a direction in life other than hate on Muslims.

Btw, I'm not a Muslim

Issue has been resolved. No wearing of Hijab by ISI female students. An apology was given to the Principal on the issue. Victory for commonsense at last!

Education / Re: ASUU Strike: How Did Students React In Your School? by Actuarial: 9:32pm On Nov 12, 2018
Tunadexy:
Noise, perhaps of joy filled the air in one of the hostels in the the University of Ibadan after ASUU announced the commencement of the strike on Sunday.
Some of the students even brought out drums and musical instruments celebrating and dancing on the field. Some established the root of their happiness on the fact that the strike would enable them prepare more the the upcoming examination while some said they would be able to go home and see their family members they left long ago.
However, confusion entangled the heart of some students who lamented that they wanted the session to finish that year.

The school began to be scanty after few days that the strike started. What baffles me up till now, is of a guy that left for his house the following morning the strike was announced.

Let's know students' reactions to the strike in your school.

One of the halls you say?
Every hall in UI including the female halls rejoiced at the news of the strike.

Education / Re: Nigerian Universities To Revert To Five Point Scale Of Grading System - NUC by Actuarial: 3:37am On Nov 03, 2018
Daveconsult:

Delsu adopted similar grading since 2012. Though they were using 5.0 but 44 below was fail and the minimum pass mark was 45. The only difference is
70-100=5
60-69=4
50-59=3
45-49=2
0-44=0
They can still use it in a grade point of 5.0 and still prevent people from graduating with pass

This looks similar to the 4.0 system but it's actually still more favourable.

Consider that for a particular semester, a student offered 7 courses, had 60-69 in 6 of the 7 courses and 59 in one of the courses.

If we are to calculate this on the 5.0 scale, the student will be on something definitely above 3.5/5.0 depending on the unit of that particular course he/she had 59. And since upper credit starts from 3.5 on the 5.0 scale, then the student will be on an upper credit.

Taking this same same scores to the 4.0 scale, the student will definitely not be able to attain 3.0/4.0 since all the scores must be 60-69 before they can amount to 3.0.
And since upper credit starts from 3.0 on the 4.0 scale, such student will be on a lower credit(2.8-2.99 depending on the credit of the 59 score). And you must agree with me that this isn't favourable at all

Still the same..
For 4 point; first class starts from 3.6 equivalent to (3.6/4.0)*5 =4.5 ( which is the same as first class in 5 point)
Second class upper starts from 2.8 equivalent to (2.8/4.0)*5 = 3.5 ( 2.1 in 5 point)

Baba this is not how to calculate/convert CGPA

If you had a first class using the 5.0 scale, then you are the real scholar.

I calculated my GPA at one time using the 4.0 scale, it was like 3.9999.
On the 5.0 scale, it was just 4.63.

No wonder, there is a proliferation of first class nowadays.

What are the grades you have in your courses that made 3.9 became 4.6

Check my post above

People don't know how hell of a thing this 4.0 grading system is.

Here in UI, the scale applies that;
(70-100)%= 4.0
(60-69)℅ = 3.0
(50-59)% = 2.0
(45-49)% = 1.0
(0-44)% = 0

After converting my 2.98(lower credit) to a 5.0 and 7.0 grading scale, they both yielded an upper credit!

UI has reversed to 5 point since 2016.
According to a UI prof. it was only UI that still using 7 point in the country. Many of their undergraduate students that applied for scholarship of many multinational coys like chevron, shell e t c. faced challenges of grade point. Where the applicants were required to have a certain GP of total CGP of 5.0. Those people were always surprised to see 7 gp. It is like old fashion. So UI had to drop it.

UI(my school) has been using the 4.0 grading system since two years now, and not 5.0

Probably they admit dull students or something. Here in University of Ibadan, students graduate with first class in departments of Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry and social sciences every year!
