I too have been curious about Yahclicks service. I am skeptical about the advertised speeds tho. They say it ranges from 512 "Kbps" to 10 "Mbps". Thats whats confusing me? What is "Kpbs" & "Mbps"? Is that the actual speed i will see in my utorrent or IDM during a download? Or is 512 "Kbps" really 64KB/s and 1"Mbps" = 125KB/s as ur real download speed u see in IDM?
Because if that is the case, then it is slower than MTN and all the local 3G carriers.

Has anyone been able to successfully roam his/her prepaid MTN line in the USA? I was told by the MTN people that i did not need to pay anything extra on prepaid. I should just load enuff credit and travel. Upon getting to the US, it will automatically switch over to an american carrier and i will be able to make/receive calls and sms.

Well i am in California now and i can only receive sms. I cannot make or receive calls.However my BIS service works when im in a wifi zone. Unfortunately for me, my bb service expired today and now i am completely cut off.

Does anyone know how i can get this line to receive/make calls here?

Also is there anyway of paying for my bb from here? I could not renew my subscription because i cannot send sms.

Yeah i just finally figured out how to connect my yesterday using the BB Desktop Software. The speed was excellent, however my credit was gone in a matter of mins.

Few mths back, i started noticing that cydia was giving me more and more problems. Kept getting POSIX errors, Host Unreachable errors, Host timed out, Cached Failures etc whenever i would try to install ANYTHING on cydia. I even get "Bad URl or Cached Failure or No network connections while loading the cydia homepage. This was all back b4 i just now upgraded my 3g to 3.0.

Hoping that my cydia problems would come to an end, i upgraded to 3.0. Did everything perfectly well, got cell service. Everything worked except cydia KEPT giving those errors.

I tried re-jailbreaking with redsn0w 7.! but that didn't stop it. Tried with 7.2, same problem.

Tried redoing the restore via itunes 8.2 WITHOUT restoring from backup, same problem.

Just about the only thing i could download on cydia was ultrasn0w & thats cos its only about 7kb. Still gave me a bunch of the above errors in the process though.

Plus now with 3.0 i noticed cydia just exits out on its own alot.
NOTE, I did installed Icy with the jailbreak cos i heard it could cause cydia problems & kinda sucks. I just want to have a normal cydia like everyone else.

Im running my iphone off my laptop starcomms wireless internet thru wifi. I thought the problem could be from my home internet connection being mediocre (live in Imo State, no 3g or broadband yet ). But i get these errors even using EDGE or at hotspots in Lagos with fast internet service.

Ive barely slept. Btw this & finding out MJ is dead, I'm exhausted.

Some nigerians have a "cult-following" approach to the way they patronize certain brands without ever wanting to try anything else. Example the way we flock towards Nokia, LG, HP, Toyota etc

For us here at the Acura Shop we love the:

Mac ibook G4. Why? Dependable - never crashes nor gets viruses. Macs hardly need to be upgraded. Find one that seems fast enough for you and that is all you will ever need. No constant software changes from "Microsoft" that require a complete overhaul of your system.

Our second choice would be Toshiba. We find that they are durable and last longer than the normal 1-2 year shelf life of some brands.

Let us know what brands you like and the reasons why.

We just got our hands on a batch of Iphone 3g's. The phones were ordered directly from the
ATT shop. Each phone comes locked by the manufacturer but we are able to "unlock" them using "turbochips" (looks like a sim card but much slimmer). The phones were easily unlocked by placing the turbochip over our local nigerian sim cards and sliding them into the phone. Voila, instant unlocking.

Externally, the iphone is a beauty to behold. The model being tested was a white 16GB. The phone is slim enough to be slide into your shirt or jean pockets comfortably. Being a hardcore blackberry user, i'd gotten used to the straightforward, all about productivity look and feel of the blackberry. However it was a breath of fresh air to see the colorful & vibrant icons.
Using the iphone is a breeze. With a flick of your finger, you can instantly scroll through the "pages" of your phone viewing the different applications. The ipod feature is really cool. The iphone has a unique "Album cover" view that lets u flick through the album covers until you find which one you are looking for. The touchscreen does live up to the hype. However i highly advise that you purchase a screen guard for your phone to avoid scratching the screen and prevent fingerprint smudges.
Retreiving your e-mails is a walk in the park. The iphone makes it very simple to setup. Setting up gmail on iphone barely took us 2 minutes and all our emails were instantly downloaded. Multiple email accts can be setup.
The internet is also quite easy to use. Once we put in the gprs settings of MTN into the phone, the Safari browser was able to browse to any website out there providing us with the FULL view of the webpage and not the cropped cellphone view. With the flick of your finger, you are also able to zoom and scroll through the pages.

Overall, the Iphone is a masterpiece to behold. The Apple team deserves some credit for stepping outside the box and creating something different from the norm. It is a breathe of fresh air to see this innovation and we can only hope that other manufacturers step up to the plate and give the consumers more value for their money.
In review:
PROS: Sleek design. Stylish
Easy to use, Original interface
Ipod software is a great addition

CONS: Onscreen Keyboard takes some getting used to. Could be annoying for people with larger sized fingers.
Cannot cut, copy or paste text while composing emails or sms.
