Ishow abeg no vex, abeg drop your number so i fit call you. You don become finalist. Congrats man @U1 man don't be scared, the lecturers conducting the interview aren't demons, just read. The only thing i read was fundamental economics. See when you come in as 100 level i've got some stuff for you. |
Education / Re: Ui 2008/2009 Post Ume exams by adewaleafolabi(m): 11:07am On Jun 21, 2008 |
Now you guys don't be sacred. Am a student of UI department of economics and i did the last "post ume" rituals. My weighted score was about 65% and economics was probably 75%. You see most people who had 70% and upwards were in real trouble because they had to really defend their scores and as such their interview was really a drill at the end only 30 were picked out of the numerous "qualified". Now for people like me and some who even had as low as 55% came for supplementary and out of 60, 30 or 31 were choosen. Most of the lecturers know that most students who fell into the supplementary list were the ones who actually worked for both their jamb and waec grades not the special centers ones. I remember the case of the guy who was asked what is equilibrum price and he responded: jale jale price. He was still given admission, since he was old probably left school maybe 10yrs ago and his grades weren't certainly super but hey he's doing well now. Another thing is that most people making waves in the department are the supplementary students. Thats where the real "eshin's" are, so there's special consideration for students who don't meet the cut off so don't let anyone tell you to forget UI just because you had 60% what determines the cutoff is the average weighted score of all applicants to that department. Also you'd see some who had like 5% less the cutoff and yet were invited for the merit interview, these cases fall under some special waivers for some areas just to encourage them. So you see there's more to admission than just grades. Just put your mind on it and rely on God. UI was even my second choice and a friends second choice in the same department. Note in social sciences the most competitive of all departments is economics and you'd be surprised at the cutoff some people came in with. |

Basically they're running clients sharing through NFS. I've read up something similar like that on ubuntu forums, once logged in they get their personalized environment including compiz. Also an example could be found under examples in your hardy heron /home talking about the testimonials of schools. Also since its an educational institution, its better you deal with edubuntu. That makes things extremely easier instead of reinventing the wheel. I'd be dropping more tips later |

@bigbrovar I just got back online and how's the job? Did you see that stuff done with gimp? Anyway in case AUST is accepting interns i like to enlist. @texazzpete i had always considered opera to be the fastest browser, followed by firefox and don't even consider internet explorer since i had my fair share of headaches with it. Maybe ie7 might be better, i didn't use it. Anyway my take on firefox 3, i used it at a cafe and was blazing, faster than usual. However that was even the beta. I'd like to see the Wikipedia comparison article of the browsers. |

Phones / Re: Solution To Nokia S40 3rd Edition Error Using Opera mini to Browse by adewaleafolabi(m): 12:00pm On Jun 02, 2008 |
@cafedeluv, like i said in a different post the only way for now is bluetooth object push. But remember That OTA (over the air) settings are just binary messages, so for phones without bluetooth, they have to look for a way to send binary sms i know its possible because some of these online sms allow for it. |

Then you'd have to look for a way to do object push which am not very sure yet, basically send that file as OTA. i once read that it could be possible through some sms gateways that allows sending of binary sms. That should work |
