Religion / Re: Pastor Tunde Bakare: A Bastard Can’t Rule The Yoruba by adros84(m): 5:21pm On Jun 16, 2011
I'm sorry to say this, but Tunde Bakare has never appeared to me as a Pastor. I have listened to him on a few occasions on TV and I cannot remember ever hearing him call his congregation to repentance. I see him more as a political commentator /comedian. That he runs a church does not make him a man of God. Anyone with a little sense and some money can own a church. As for what he said about BAT, I think it's quite unfortunate. To me it is worse than what I expected from a frustrated loser!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Can I survive on 90K per month? by adros84(m): 10:46am On Jun 15, 2011
@ALL,
I think this poster did the right thing to post this question. And I think all who replied did the right thing even those who abused and cursed him. Not that I am encouraging anyone to abuse and curse. The good thing is that our friend has learnt some lessons which will help him even as he resumes at his new office. These include but are not limited to

1. He would appreciate the fact that he even got a job at all. There are so many out there who are very qualified but without any job.
2. He should appreciate the salary. Many earn below that
3. He should have a budget tg enable him cope and probably have some savings
4. He should avoid girls and beer services
etc etc.
So who says the post is a waste of time?

Religion / Re: How Many Here Have Read The Bible From Cover To Cover. by adros84(m): 11:47am On May 25, 2011
I cannot say I've read the Bible from cover to cover all at once, but I can say I've read every verse in it over the past 21years. And it has changed my life. I never try to understand the Bible, I believe it. I do not wish to understand God,
I want to believe him. To believe him is sufficient unto me. To believe God is to believe his word. When he told me if I repent of my past misdeeds, he would forgive me, I believed, repented and was forgiven. I found peace for my soul.

Politics / Re: Emir Tongue Lashes Vice President Over Lateness To Palace by adros84(m): 2:20pm On May 24, 2011
Once I was about punishing a student who came to school late. Our resumption time is 7.30am. The young man explained that he could not come in because he found it difficult getting a motorcycle to take him down to school. So i asked what time he came out of his house since I live around that area and passed the front of his house. He replied, "7.30am". I could not help but laugh. I told him he was already late before he left home as not even an helicopter could have brought him into the school before 7.30am if he chose to leave home at 7.30am. I then lectured him on the need to get out of his house not later than 7.30am. Most Nigerian government officials are like this young man. They are never in a hurry to leave their homes to keep appointments! And that is why many of them are involved in fatal accidents. They leave their homes late and begin to rush at supersonic speed to keep appointments. It's so so unfortunate. But thanks to this great Emir! let's hope other politicians will learn from the VP's mistake.
Politics / Re: Emir Tongue Lashes Vice President Over Lateness To Palace by adros84(m): 1:03pm On May 24, 2011
Kudos to the Emir. At least we have some traditional rulers who have not sold their birthright for a mere plAte of pottage. Punctuality we were taught is the soul of business. Do not fix an appointment if you cannot keep it. It is the practice of Nigerian government officials to always come late to any programme whether they are invited or they invited participants. Sometimes they keep people waiting in the sun for them while they camp young under aged girls somewhere in a lodge. Yet they will come and expect to be welcomed without any complaint.

The emir has done nothing wrong and I do not thiink he has any grouse against the V.P or President. A traditional ruler is a leader in his own right and should never be kept waiting. No British PM will do that to the Queen of England. And when toddlers who are great men today simply because of political appointment slight revered traditional rulers - descendants of great great men, they deserve to be told in plain truth that they have done wrong which is what the Emir did.

BOTTOM LINE IS: LET'S HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR TIME AND APPOINTMENTS!!!

This is to inform all candidates for the ENTRANCE examination scheduled for Saturday 21st May, 2011, that the examination has been postponed to Saturday June 11, 2011. This is owing to the restriction on Movement in Ikorodu town on Saturday May 21 and June 4 as well as the environmental sanitation exercise of Saturday May 28. Please bear with us.
