Digriz:

so u still believe in ths philosophy at ths period? I doubt this claim bcus i hv seen people wt AIDS and i knw its real.
ak47mann:

SO MR MAN LET ME FIND A WOMAN WITH HIV AND "I WANT YOU" TO SLEEP WITH HER NO CONDOM RAW ALL THE WAY THEN AFTER YOU MIGHT LIVE HAPPY EVER AFTER undecided undecided undecided

Have you read the books I referred you to? The problem is most Africans are too lazy to read and so they swallow whatever rubbish anyone throws their way. Go read those books and then we shall see if you will still hold the same opinion about HIV and AIDS.

Since you are too lazy to read, let me offer you some info from these books.
1. When you go for HIV tests, you are being tested for the presence of HIV ant bodies in your body. But do you know how antibodies are formed? Do you know what the presence of antibodies indicate? For instance if you are tested and found to have antibodies for polio, what does it mean? Does that mean you have polio? Find out.
2. How many of those being tested for HIV have actually handled the test kits themselves? Try get one of those test kits and read the manufacturer's insert. It's a wealth of information which your lab technologist is hiding from you. Read the insert and come back to discuss here.

Please read!.

As to whether I will sleep with any woman who has tested positive, my answer is simply, No. The Bible says, marriage was instituted to prevent fornication and adultery. I am married and will never sleep with another woman. At moments of temptation, His grace will undoubtedly be sufficient enough for me. I do not refrain from sleeping around because of the fear of HIV/AIDS but because of my fear of God. The Bible says, "The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom"

What is HIV? How is it discovered? What tests are used? Everybody seem to agree that HIV is real just because of the media hype that has gone before. If you interested in knowing the truth about HIV and AIDs, visit www.areyoupositive.org, download and read two e-books there. I bet after reading these books, if you are diagnosed as being HIV positive, you will jump for joy. The truth actually is that it is those who are HIV negative that are at risk. Do not crucify me for this. Go to the website and read. The Bible says: My people perish for lack of knowledge. Please read, read and read>

Why can we not have a referendum to decide whether we want to remain one country or whether each region should go its separate ways? After all it happened in Sudan! Thank God, only my first child served in the North. When the other two were to served, we worked it for them to serve in Ogun state very close to our home state of Ekiti. What would my family have done if any of these children had been killed in this kind of situation? I really pity the parents of these slain young men and women! what a terrible loss!

Politics / Re: Why Did Pastor Tunde Bakare Venture Into Politics? by adros84(m): 6:54am On Apr 28, 2011
Simple answer is Bakare has never been a Pastor. I watched him preach on TV a few occasions and I never heard him talk about repentance and salvation. All he did was talk politics and criticize government. To me he has always been a politician in a priest's robe. No wonder God allow him to be disgraced. You know the saying: Those whom the gods will kill, they first make mad?

I monitored the collation on Channels TV and the Returning Officer said was that the results were inconclusive. Results in three LGAs are still outstanding. Better to get our facts right before posting. Note: I am not an Imonite please! And I am based in Lagos!

Thank God the talks failed. It was an alliance to get some people into power at all costs. I do not like the PDP and would like to see the end of them but, I hate alliances that bring strange bedfellows together. Such marriages of convenience will ultimately collapse and lead to political insecurity. Let Ribadu run alone. If he loses, let him wait for another time. He is still young. Let Buhari run alone. If he loses, let him retire from politics. He is already old and has tasted power once. Let Jonathan run alone. If he loses, let him become a statesman after all he has seen it all - Deputy Governor, Governor, Vice-President and President. Let as many candidates as possible run . let each man bear his own cross. Let none try to ride on the back of another. God bless Nigeria.

Politics / Re: Ribadu Stands Down by adros84(m): 9:06am On Apr 13, 2011
This to me does not call for celebration. What is there to celebrate when our politics is all about getting a particular party or individual out of power or into power? Does it mean there is no difference between CPC and ACN? If yes, why did they not form a single party before now? I am not celebrating because alliances do not work in Nigeria except for if it is an alliance against the masses. If this story is true and Buhari gets elected, I assure you, the alliance will not last a year. My opinion is that both Buhari and Ribadu should contest. No doubt, both will lose but our democracy would have been strengthened. PDP is gradually being cut to size and I'm sure if the ACN governors and CPC governors perform exceptionally well in the new dispensation, PDP will continue to lose ground and a new party will be able to take over from it without any alliance. This is a more natural way of getting the progressives into power.

jpworld:

To live in corrupt world, As a rich, money making man or a poor hungry man, Even Kumuyi is corrupt, that's why he is a rich money making man in the name of religion?

Wake up man, stop wasting your time, All this pastors have done thousands of crusade in Nigeria, giving you guys all sort of hope, but things are getting worse everyday. The crusade is about Kumuyi, getting more offering and tithe. Is never about the poor.

Preachers are not responsible for the multiplication of corruption in our land. Corrup[tion continues to multiply because those who listen to these preachers refuse to do what their messages contain. True, some preachers are corrupt. That is because some were not called to the ministry, some were called but allowed the love of money to dim their vision. But there are some who are genuinely called and are still true to the vision. Such preachers cannot shut up because they have God's mandate to preach the gospel of holy living. The choice is yours whether you choose to join the band of corruption or you want to live to please God. No man can force you to make a particular choice. One thing is clear though, whatever choice you make, you must know there would always be a reward at the end of the dday.

2 Sam 8
David fought against many nations and defeated them. In the course of these wars, he amassed much booties of war. These booties, we are told he dedicated to God.

Lesson:
When I am successful, I should acknowledge God as the source of my success and use the success to bring more glory to God’s name.

2 Sam 9
Now God has established David on the throne. He did not seek vengeance against those who did not want him to ascend the throne (Saul’s family). Instead, he remembered the good that Jonathan (Saul’s son) did to him and chose to repay that good on any surviving member of Saul’s family.
Lesson
I must not repay evil for evil but rather show kindness to all.

2 Sam 10
David’s good intention was misinterpreted by Hanun’s advisers. He acted on their bad advice without verifying the facts and he was dearly punished for it.
Lesson:
I must beware of bad advisers.

2 Sam 11
Rather than join his forces on the battle field, David stayed at home acting the boss. This offered a good opportunity for the tempter to catch up with him. The object of temptation was a mature married woman bathing in the open in broad daylight. David fell into the trap, seduced the woman who later became pregnant. To cover up his sin, David committed other sins such as
a. Depleting the army of the Lord by recalling Uriah from the battlefield
b. Getting Uriah drunk
c. Attempting to foist his own child on Uriah
d. Committing murder
e. Dragging the kingship in the mud by conspiring with an army commander to set up an innocent man to die
f. Causing other men to die along with Uriah by exposing them to enemy fire.

Lesson:
1. I must not rest in my Christian journey until I reach heaven. I must continue to labor for my Lord and Master.
2. I must not attempt to cover my sins as this will only lead to more sins.
3. I must not live my life in a way that will make me the object of temptation to others.

Prayer Points
a. Help me Lord to use every thing you provide for me to advance your kingdom here on earth
b. Help me to avoid vengeance in all I do. Help me to show kindness at all times
c. Father, deliver me from bad advisers
d. Help me never to rest or take a break from my work for you until I get to heaven
e. Deliver me O Lord when temptations come my way
f. Help me to watch my life that I do not become an object of temptation to anyone
g. Help me to constantly remember Proverbs 28:13 – He that covers his sins shall not prosper, but he that confesses and forsakes, the same shall have mercy.

Let me start by saying that I do not belong to Oyedepo's congregation. But I take exception to your post for no other reason that you have made an assertion without adducing reasons for your stand. Granted that you have freedom of speech, but you must realize that this is a public forum so when you write anything, you ,must go the whole hog and explain how you arrived at your conclusion. Until then, I do not think you have said anything.

Besides why mention only Oyedepo? If your goal is for us to x-ray Nigerian religious leaders, then throw it open for discussion. Share your experience in the hands of one or more of them and then others will be able to conclude.

I have a Pastor. He is W. F. Kumuyi. I know he is a man of God, because his attention is focussed on getting souls into the kingdom. i have been under his ministration since July 14, 1990 and I have not seen anything in his messages or his lifestyle to show me that he is not toiling on me and others to make us fulfill God's standard. His constant refrain is contained in Heb 12:14 : "Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord".

I invite you to join the Deeper Life Bible Church every Monday at 6pm to study the Bible with this anointed Pastor. Just find out the nearest branch to you. He teaches via satellite. You may also download past studies on the church's website: www.dclm.org

Now tell me your Pastor and what your experience has been. Thank you
Politics / Re: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by adros84(m): 9:14pm On Apr 10, 2011
PDP may eventually win this election but I am happy for one thing. PDP majority has been whittled down and the opposition has become stronger. This should make room for better debates and national development.

I also think GEJ deserves praise for allowing for a transparent election. His name will be written in gold when the history of democracy in Nigeria is written.

As for those blaming the press for not collating results, I think they should know that the law prescribes grave sanctions for any media house that publishes unconfirmed results.

Happy discussions folk.

Religion / Re: Did You Read Your Bible Today? by adros84(m): 7:33pm On Apr 09, 2011
Here is my experience today:

09/04/11 - 2Samuel Chapters 4 - 7

2 Sam 4
The wicked murder of Ishboseth and the punishment met to the murderes by David.
These two men thought they were helping David when they murdered Ishboseth in his sleep and brought his head to David but David refused to reward wickedness carried out against his enemy. Rather he punished the wicked men with the same thing they did.
Lesson: We should not encourage wicked people in their wickedness even if they think we stand to profit from their wicked act.
Poser: Should not these men have learnt from the fate of the Amalekite who falsely claimed that he was the one who slew Saul? (2 Sam 1). Wicked people hardly learn from the mistakes of other people.

2 Sam 5
All Israel came to make David King. He did not have to struggle for it. When the Philistines heard, they gathered against Israel and David sought and got God’s a pproval before fighting against them.
Lesson: If we totally depend on God, he will bring his plan to pass over our lives. He will also guide us into the right decisions.
Poser: Why did the Philistines gather against Israel without any provocation? The same still happens today that enemies of the cross will gather against the church for no cause

2 Sam 6
David’s first attempt to bring the ark of the Lord to Jerusalem ended in a great disaster because instructions about how to carry the ark from place to place was not adhered to.
The ark was then deposited in the house of Obed-edom. This brought abundant blessings upon him and his household. The second attempt to move the ark was a huge success. This time, the instructions were followed. David, lost in adoration of the Lord, danced before the ark. This led his wife, Micah, to despise him. She earned for herself a reward of barrenness.
Lesson: No matter how honourable what we are doing is, we must do it according to God’s instruction or else it will end disastrously. Secondly, when we allow God’s presence in our lives, family or business, blessings come upon us. Thirdly, we must not despise those who are serving God.
Poser: Why did Micah not just mind her own business?

2 Sam 7:
David discusses his plan to build a house unto the Lord with Nathan the prophet. Nathan without consulting God gives a go ahead but God instructs him that night to go tell David that his son, and not he, would build such a house. David submits unto God’s decision, praising Him for His grace upon His family
Lesson: We must never rush to counsel people or else we counsel them against God’s will. Secondly, when we discover we have made a mistake, we should not feel too big to correct our mistakes. Third, like David, we must learn to accept God’s decision as final in all areas of our lives.
Poser: Why would Nathan, a prophet of God, commit such a blunder of counseling without seeking God’s face?

Prayer Points:
1. Help me O Lord not to encourage wicked people in their evil acts.
2. Lord, help me to depend on you in all that I do
3. Father, help me to do everything I do according to your instructions
4. Father, be my guardian and my guide
5. Father, help me never to rush into counseling people
6. Help me that when I have made a mistake and realized it, I will not feel too big to make amends
7. Lord, help me to learn to accept your decision as final in every area of my life.
8. Lord, help me to bridle me to bridle my tongue and not criticize my way to trouble.
