Hello everyone, I would appreciate if I could get information about my mum's scheduled interview. Purpose is to accompany me to birth my baby( my other 2 kids were also born in USA but she never accompanied me as I stayed with family). Will I be allowed to accompany her into the interview section, asides my visa page and statement of account, what other documents does she need, what possible questions will she be asked. So sorry..I know I should read up but won't mind links to the pages that have answers. Thank you

10kg I think is for shorter routes like uk. From d US it's 23kg. But u can reconfirm wen u call to add baby ticket. But I had 23kg for my baby[/quote

Thanks again jossy&Mumzt. Paid 78.40 eventually and like you said, it was really easy.

To God be the glory....my 2nd trip for birthing is now at the final stage.

To everyone going through one challenge or the other.... My prayers are with you all. Never forget that "the blessings of God maketh rich and added no sorrow....no matter what"

Will the airline allow a preggie check in her travel set for free (knowing well say the baby dey belle).

No they wont even check in car seat for free once there isn't an actual baby. Flew Emirates and had to pay extra luggage to carry it. Would have left it behind if I didn't have other stuffs to make up the baggage allowance. But Lufthansa may be different

@adupif,

I paid $69.40 just this Monday. Don't no Wat to do as my mum isn't seating beside me undecided

Thank you. My Agent already added the bassinet request at time of purchase but will follow thru again. Am quite surprised at how cheap it is. Paid almost $400 for my other baby in 2014(Air France).as for your mum situation, u can take turns on the seat by swapping intermittently so you too can rest.

Thank u to everyone that took time to reply.

you can check Dr A.G chaudry his fee about 2650 and uses prince george hospital @ maryland[/quote

If you have Prince George Hospital on your list then you can't use my hospital cos its way cheaper than mine. My county is Harford County, which is almost 1.45mins away.

i used University of maryland upper chesapeake hospital. i gave the breakdown of my bills in my earlier post

Hello,

Will be glad if someone could help out with Emirates Ticket for a baby and how to go about it.

Did you call before getting to the airport
Can it only be purchased at the airport
Was it a one way or return
How much did it cost
What is the baggage allowance

Thank you.

Maryland thingz..... still doing my research though. Maryland is on the high side. Your budget should be 10k and above

Maryland is quite expensive. Had my baby this month. Virginal, no epidural amounted to about $8,400 for me and Baby( as at today cos am expecting a little extra later) Doc was 2300 with circumcision for this baby. Older birth was about $11,000 cos he was in the NCIU&$2300 for doc with circumcision. But there are cheaper ones though but not in my county

I completely agree with you. There are a number of very good hospitals and Doctors in America and would surprise you how much you can negotiate with them when you're not part of the number. And this includes how much you can dictate what care you want. Infact all my friends who have birthed in US all used different hospitals and Doctor.

It's the "follow follow"(couldn't find another word. No insult intended pls)syndrome that has led to the Houston wahala and Dr. F wahala.

Spread out, make research.......

nefertitiram:

But you mamas that were upfront in your intentions from the get go, I don't think it should apply to you. Hope it's clearer now, but it's something we should discuss and tear apart, because the way things are going now... I'm hearing stories of mamas denied renewals after childbirth (renewed with dropbox then went to give birth), that's what made me think this way.

Well, even though we did(my husband and I)renew via dropbox, we basically filled the exact same information as the first one. Using hospital as the contact and all. After my first birth 2years ago, I didn't travel again to USA until this year for childbirth again. So I have strictly used both visas for only childbirth. My husband though travelled this year for a function and spent barely a week.so really for me, no hard or fast rules. What works for one may not for the other.

Mamas, if you need to renew your visa for childbirth, please choose to go for an interview instead of selecting dropbox. Then attend the interview with all the necessary childbirth documents.

Hello people.

Pretty sure am about the longest silent of this thread. The days of uchetobi etc.when the thread was only 1.

However felt compelled to reply cos of the statement above. Had to register for the first time today. While I agree with you, I still feel that if you declared your true intentions from the beginning and have paid up your bills, dropbox remains the best. On my second trip to birth and dropbox was easy, changed POE and entry was smooth.

Like I learnt here, confidence, truthfulness, sincerity of purpose&ultimately the Grace of God is all that's needed.

Meanwhile, am a Maryland mama. Quite expensive but have got family here so in the end for me, adds up to about the same( feeding, transportation, accommodation).

Best of Luc to everyone.
