Katsumoto:

Cut your nose to spite your face is an expression. I used it in light of the comment you made about Biafra and not wanting an alliance with other regions because of events in the 60s.

And you think what happened in the 60's is not enough to be careful about any form of alliance with any region in the South? The Igbos are simply wiser now my friend. Lightening no dey strike for the same place twice!

As regards the expression if na me use am now you for dey announce am for AIT say I dey insult you but as na you use am we should see it as expression. Nigerians with their maradonic tendencies.

Katsumoto:

You can cut your nose then to spite your face? Why don't you respond to my original post then? Did you miss the part below. I am not a secessionist. I was merely answering a hypothetical question.

Wetin concern my nose for this post now? You see how you leave issues and focus on personalities tomorrow now you will claim Afam is attacking your person.

We shall continue to sensitize the Igbos anywhere in the world to understand the dynamics of our politics and the selfish calls by certain parts of Nigeria for secession now that they are just seeing a little bit of what we saw in the past and some of them even joined in the killing and maiming of our people for asking for what they are asking for now.

Without honesty and sincerity the Igbos will not waste time discussing secession with any group. If the Igbos want to secede they will do so and that will not be dependent on the position of the other groups.

Enough of the deceit.

Katsumoto:

Did you read my post well? Did I state the South must be one? Did I equally state the Yoruba and Igbo MUST be in one republic? Please read my posts again below paying attention to the part in bold. What I mean by the part in bold is that the South and MB may secede together and either form one republic or several republics but sign a defence pact.

Count the SE out of these calculations because the last time Biafra attempted secession we all know what the rest of Nigeria did.

Defense pack ko, Southern Republic ni.

One Nigeria till tomorrow.

Where una wan run go? Una never see anything. People are being killed in hundreds and you guys are talking about secession. 30,000 innocent Easterners were killed and Igbo army officers killed in different barracks and when things became really bad Biafra chose to leave and yet most of you guys talking about secession refused and joined in further massacres and killing of Biafrans.

You guys must be joking.

Hausa/Fulani to me are not the problem but all those who work hand in hand with them to carry out injustices as long as they feel they will benefit only to turn around to complain when chacha turn around.

First you called Katsumoto, one of the best analysts in the political section, a liar, now you say I lie a lot. Must you attempt to ridicule others to feel important?

I am never afraid to call liars liars so don't waste your time worrying about that. One of the best analysts in the politics section (as you put it) can lie and when he does so it makes perfect sense to call him a liar.

A liar is simply someone that lies. Abi, you don change the meaning?

See how you are exposing yourself and you think people are over analyzing your comments. They are not over analyzing anything, they are simply shocked to read such nonsense from you.

And who are these "certain individual"? Dem no get name?

As for massacre, I trust the Igbos there to defend themselves and/or carry out reprisal attacks in the SE. People should stop running away from these killers anytime they threaten to kill innocent people.

If the government has refused to defend the innocent civilians then the responsibility to do so must fall on the individuals who can arm and defend himself against all unprovoked attacks by their hosts.

No.

But the fears are usually based on the fact that as we stand today that some parts of Nigeria cannot sustain themselves without the oil money and that fear is what is making the option of war a very viable one.

Put differently, some parts of the country would rather fight to remain in Nigeria than stay on their own.

SapeleGuy:

As members of the entity called Nigeria we know who we are, I also believe that we agree on the equality of all ethnicities, If we look at the 1999 constitution we have a bill of rights with the following provisions:

Equality of nationalities in what sense? Is any ethnic group claiming to be superior to others?

I think SapeleGuy has been confusing the concept of equality of nationalities with ethnic majority.

All ethnic groups in my opinion are equal but when you talk about democracy where the majority (in terms of numbers or population) determines what gets done then you will immediately realize that groups will end up being referred to as majority or minority and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this unless the word minority is being used to insult those who are in the minority (based on numbers or population).

SapeleGuy:

Neptunz, The SNC will provide a good start, a contract between nigerians and themselves and nigerians and the state. We need to demilitarise our government, personally I don't believe the  ideals of ejoor, gowon, ojukwu or the military have a place in such a discussion (They were not democratically elected.)

You may want to know that most of the countries that are doing well today got to where they are now under military rule while a lot of presidents of developed nations had military background.

Any form of government that will provide the basic needs of Nigerians will be supported be it military or civilian. We have chosen to play with democracy because we want to copy what some countries are doing and in the process we import things that do not make any sense in our own peculiar environment and yet expect them to work.

Further more, discarding what our leaders did under the military will certainly mean that we have about 30% to draw from.

The text below was exised from the main article, because it was found to be objectionable.

“This New Nation called Nigeria, should be an estate of our great grandfather, Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the North as willing tools, and the South, as conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us, and never allow them to have control over their future.”  ---Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto in THE PARROT of October 12, 1960

“The conquest to the sea is now in sight. When our god-sent Ahmadu Bello said some years ago that our conquest will reach the sea shores of Nigeria, some idiots in the South were doubting its possibilities. Today have we not reached the sea? Lagos is reached. It remains Port-Harcourt. It must be conquered and taken.”  --- Mallam Bala Garuba in WEST AFRICAN PILOT, December 30, 1964.

"Nigeria is not a nation. It is a mere geographical expression. There are no 'Nigerians' in the same sense as there are 'English,' 'Welsh,' or 'French.' The word 'Nigerian' is merely a distinctive appellation to distinguish those who live within the boundaries of Nigeria and those who do not." [From Path to Nigerian Freedom by Obafemi Awolowo]

@Beaf,

Why did you succumb to the blackmail by ndu_chuks?

These quotes remain the very foundation of Nigeria and until they are addressed we will be wasting time.

ndu_chuks knows this and that remains the reason why he was uneasy about them.

Your leaders ask you to kill and maim and till today people are doing just that yet someone does not want such serious issues discussed.

Henceforth I will have these quotes in my responses here so that everyone will read them and know how we may have gotten to this point in our country.

You are silly, arrogant yet ignorant of what you think you know.

I was suppose to stop reviewing sites and generally posting on nairalannd. But on seeing this i felt offended.

This site is very as a matter of fact too amateur. Everything is wrong. Why does links open either in new tab or new pop up window.

No be like so cyclops, when u just start, not all thing u learn u implement to your site, some are outdated and also, unnnessesary. Get hold of the general convention of looks and design pattern oof designing sites.

You can try a paid tutorial www.marknollis.com simply make a contact.

@Bidza. How far, whats up. You scored cyclops too high. My first day of designing with only HTML was not as bad as this.

There is room for improvement sha. I also do think the longer one takes to learn this things the better he does grab it, if he can still endure.

Read the nonsense you put down above and ask people that may not be your friends to take a good look at your website and you will be shocked at the verdict. You cannot even get basic things aligned on your website simply because you don't know how to do it and you have the guts to insult other people.

I can guarantee you no serious organisation can spend just 2 minutes discussing with you on any meaningful project.

This is the problem with the forum, someone asks for a review and instead of doing just that we begin to insult the project while claiming that our first projects were far better than the project.

This is not fair and will discourage others from asking for help.

Unfortunately, majority of people that do this are just comfortable with the basics of web development even when they wrongly believe that they know enough.

Eziachi, My point is very simple, you can not call other people traitors (I don't mean you specifically) and then lionise the likes of 'maverick arthur' - who sold arms to the FG knowing it was to be used to kill his kith and kin.

Nigerians are interesting.

Now, Sapele has moved from Nzeribe sold arms to both Biafra and Nigeria to Nzeribe sold arms to the FG of Nigeria probably because someone stated he can confirm that Nzeribe never sold arms to Biafra.

What manner of people are we?

Why must we harbor in our hearts wickedness that are manifested with lies?

I am sure if it is demonstrated that Nzeribe did not sell arms to Nigeria he will turn around and claim that he sold arms to one country that later sold arms to Nigeria so he is a bad man.

That people are resorting to lies to prove that he is a bad man goes to show that indeed the man is clean, something that is not common in Nigeria.

We complain about corruption and yet when we see a Nigerian that is not corrupt we do everything to paint him black.

Is this really all about envy and jealousy

Evil is Evil no matter where. If he stole in Ghana, he most probably stole in Nigeria. Forget, these people, even the most religious of them, can go to any length to convince themselves that they are doing the right thing even when they kill. Truth is Truth, it is not subjective.

1. If he stole in Ghana remains an if statement. Nothing concrete, just the usual rumor or gossip

2. Assuming he stole in Ghana (which there is no evidence he did) he did not steal from Nigeria so your conclusion that he most probably stole in Nigeria based on the if statement/premise is wrong.

I guess it is better for you to ask the why and not the what. The WHY is usually more important than the event itself.
Politics / Re: How Zik Stopped Nigeria From Breaking Up In 1957 + much more by Afam(m): 5:19pm On Mar 11, 2010
Katsumoto:

I am not here to prove class but to debate. Lets stick to the issue on hand.
There is nothing worng with my first statement. I stated that Zik wanted to rule over Nigeria for personal reasons and I supported that assertion with information to support it. The question was about why did he delay the freedom of his people for three years? The Eastern region could have had self-autonomy by 1957 if Zik had voted for it like Awo did. What was it about Nigeria that Zik loved so much in 1957?

We are not discussing his public PR profile but rather, insights as provided by Ralph Uwechue as well as other actions. Who told you Zik was a national hero? Where did you get that from? He wasn't fighting for Nigeria, he was fighting to have a country which included the North, the East and the West rather than just the East. You say he was fighting for Nigeria; what did he achieve for Nigeria? The North said it was not ready for self-rule, the West said it was ready for self-rule but Zik wanted a big country? Are we not all witnesses to this debacle called Nigeria? No wonder Gowon and the North fought to keep Biafra within Nigeria and no wonder the West wanted to stay out of the war.

Answer my questions
1. What was so special about Nigeria that Zik had to have it at all costs?
2. Was the self-autonomy of the East not more important than his personal ambition to rule Nigeria?
3. Why did Zik form a government with NPC and become a junior partner in the coalition when he was offered a senior position with the AG? Please don't answer with the tale about not trusting Awo because he was reaching out to the other two parties.
4. Why was nationalistic Zik holidaying in the Caribbean when his reported cousin Ifeajuna was murdering his fellow Nigerians and Nigeria (the country he supposedly fought for) was hosting the first Commonwealth Heads of State conference.
5. Was Zik really unaware of the limited nature of his powers when he attempted to use the military to deny Balewa power?
6. Was it mere coincidence that the Ifeajuna coup took place approximately one year after he lost out in the power play to Balewa/Sardauna?

This are legitimate questions and only reasonable answers will do; no 'we all know his good works in Africa' BS. If we are to genuinely address all issues that laid the foundations for mistrust, genocide, war, etc in Nigeria, then we should start at the beginning.

Handling your type is easy and I have been doing it for a long time now.

After answering questions you initiate others no matter how irrelevant without any end in sight.

What did you do with the answers already provided to your previous questions? Nothing but proceeded to ask another 6.

With all due respect I cannot waste my time debating with you because you are insincere. I will only address some obvious inconsistencies and misinformation from you and others let those that have the time and energy continue to debate with you.

Clearly, you cannot debate without ego, bickering or trying to be condescending. The names are similar and it is not unusual for people around here to have duplicate account. It is nice talking to you so far. I am really not keen on bickering, pardon if I am not responding in the manner you want.

Silly questions will always be pointed out as silly questions. What has ego got to do with the silly question considering the fact that I have always used a single username on this forum and the usernames are not the same and even the signature of the original poster points to his business?

By the way, by the time I posted this link [see below] out of 10 people, 6 have voted for a seperated Nigeria. That is 60%, while this is not a true indications of things, it speaks volume.

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-411586.0.html

It backs my view that most of us - be it whatever tribe - want out of the whole charade called Nigeria.

Trust me this academic exercise will be different from reality otherwise groups would have started to push for that by now.

You don't break up a country on discussion forums.

If 40% say no to breakup then the frightening revelation would have been that there are actually a sizable number of Nigerians that will oppose this - something you should worry about.

Is this a mere hearsay or conjectural load of rubbish? It seems like a desperate endeavor to smear the person of Nzeribe. I know for fact that General Joe Ankrah was dismissed from the Ghanaian armed forces in 1965 for attempting coup.

I also know that both Majors Kwasi Kotoka and Akwasi Afrifa led the coup that sent Nkrumah on endless vacation in 1966. Also, it is fact that Lt Gen Joe Ankrah was brought back to the armed forces to lead the military revolutionary council in February 1966 after the sacking of Nkrumah’s government in Ghana.

Please I should be interested in the details of Ankrah’s involvement in the coup if you would not mind.

This is a result of desperation on the part of those that want to crucify the man at all costs.

As they say, truth is constant while lies will always fall like pack of cards.

I didn't even bother digesting his comments on Ankrah as I focused on what Nigerians could readily associate him.

Yet again another planned defamation is shot down by facts. One wonders what they will turn to now.
