Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by akandry: 11:49am On Aug 24, 2017 |
Good day bless people of this thread I'm new here and I really need help and guidance I am about to apply for Canada study permit as a self sponsor. I presently work and also a partnership/shareholder to a fast growing company and also I run an online business too.
My account has got the required 26 - 30k CAD required by the University for a year sustenance and i'm also in possession of some assets (Land properties).
I will like to know if i can please get some input on some documents i might be needing to back up my application for a convincing self sponsor as i'm a bit worried applying as a self sponsor if its going to work.
Lastly, i've got some money coming into my account directly from the company's account. Will this be an advisable thing to to and if so, what should be the Reference/Remark for the money going into my account.
Thanks in anticipation 2 Likes |

TWoods:
He chose it, either because it was cheap or had very low entry requirements. One thing is clear, he did not choose a cc because he was interested in seriously studying in school. These are things the VOs read through easily and is why many end up getting denied despite all their wasted fasting and praying.
Bottomline, 99.9% of serious students are not on this thread. These students know exactly what they need to do and start preparing for admissions to top schools over a year in advance. You will never see these folks coming here to ask silly questions like "where can i find schools with free application fee", you will never find them here seeking mock interviews (because they don't have a reason to lie or rehearse), most importantly, you won't find them here panicking about visa appointments scheduled a mere days before classes resume! These smart kiddos already obtained their visas in May/June. All we are left with are the desperados, the unserious and the lazy. To be honest, sometimes it's fun coming here to read and laugh when i have nothing else to do. But of course... "your case is different". I totally disagree with you choosing to study in a cc doesn't mean you ain't a serious student, I'm currently studying in a cc because It fits into my career goal and also it's cheap for me. I know lot of guys here in the state that comes in with a top uni visa for a Bsc program and later transfer to cc what will you say about them? we all have our opinions why we go for what we want and it's not necessary to keep following a path because everyone goes on that same path set a part that fits into your goals and go for it have a blessed day. 14 Likes |

sayilousnwa: Please to the noble house, I really want you guys to vert my transcript which I intend pouring out to the VO soon, I have asked God for just few questions from the ones mentioned below. I believe that my prayers would be answered. Here I go;
Sai: Good Morning Ma VO: Good morning. Sai: How was you night? VO: Very well thank you and yours? Sai: Good. VO: Pass me your i20 and your passport. Sai: Here they are. VO: Where are you going to? Sai: I am going to California Miramar University, San Diego. for my MBA program with a concentration on Technology Management upon a successful completion, it's required of me to return back to my country Nigeria to use my knowledge to create a grate value for the company. VO: How many schools did you apply to and how many gave you admission? Sai: I only applied to 4 schools; Western Michigan University Wichita University, Marshall university and California Miramar University VO: Why CMU? Sai: CMU is ranked one of the best business schools in the states, 10# to be precised and they have a well structured curriculum which cuts across my career and also having the faculty ration of 14:1, I believe its a favorable place to learn. I also had a web chat with some of the university students, they told me that majority of their lecturers and well experienced and have been in the filed for so long, that also gave me the confidence to further my application process when I was admitted in the school VO: what was your Undergraduate course? Sai: Petroleum Engineering. VO: Which School? Sai: Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State Nigeria. VO: When did you graduate? Sai: I graduated 2011, immediately after my graduation I joined my In-laws building construction company as a site foreman/clerk, Site Engineer, Assistant project Manager and Project Manager in-view. Sai: I am an assistant, Project Manager in a big building construction company in Lekki Lagos State Nigeria. VO: How long have you worked with the Company? Sai: 4 years 6 months to be specific VO: Who would be sponsoring your trip? Sai: Oh My In-law whom I work for, the CEO of (the company Name) VO: Do you have his statement of account? Sai: Sure I have both his treasury bill account and the dividend account statement, I mean the returns account. VO: Pass it to me. Sai: Sure Ma. VO: I can see you have applied before right? Sai: Yes early this year ma, April 18th to be precise. VO: And why were you denied Visa? Sai: I guess based on family ties issues, but I wasn't given the chance to express myself on that, that I will be coming back to take up my work here in Nigeria and moreover my purpose of travel was to honor a friends graduation ceremony. VO: What has this program got to offer you? Sai: It would offer me so much. Technology is taking over the entire world but the management of it helps one not to abuse it so I would be studying more on how to manage the technology, inculcate that into my everyday project so as to get my work delivered on time and with less effort. VO: How do you intend to achieve all that? Sai: (Smile) well, I would take 13 core courses, having 6 electives to choose just 3 from that making it a total of 16 courses with a credit unit of 48. some courses like Operational management, Project management, Strategic management, Operational cost, Technology and computer innovation. Which would help me fit into the professional world
VO: Okay I will be approving your visa, please keep your i20 and Sevies receipt very well because you will be needing that at POE
And I will thank baba God first, those who worked on me vetting my transcript, last I will smile and leave the hall....lol... Please feel free to check on my transcript and make some corrections as I wouldn't mind and also ask me any other possible questions that would come up making reference to my transcript please. You have a lot to work on, with this transcript I fear your #64k will yield no return and your village people will win over you. Look for a more solid point prepare well and try to pm some gurus in the house to help you with a mock interview and above all pray. |

Fortunate4real: A female-friend of mine booked her flight for the same earliest travel date(July 23) on her i20, , her school resumes on August 22 (orientation) is she safe or she should reschedule her flight. i told her not to worry that she is covered but she insisted to hear from Nairalanders. ( she planned to resume that early; to learn some skills needed for her program organised in the school holding on the 26th of July, to sort out accommodation and other things)
its over to you sirs/ma. should she cancel her flight and fixed another date
I booked my flight for same earliest arrival date as well and I'm really worried about it after reading the post about the person been returned and now I'm feeling the CBP officer might want to ask why the early arrival....is it better I reschedule as well or I'm good to go |

fairheart: NOTICE TO STUDENT VISA HOLDERS: As at last night, @ Georgia Atlanta, a student visa holder (a Nigerian and cousin to my friend's friend) was turned back home after his visa was cancelled. The reason is that he did not leave Nigeria at the date stated on his I-20 that he should resume. He had waited more more months; that is, he should have left few months back. So when he got to the port of entry, he was sent back.
I am not saying this to put fear in anybody here, but pay attention and make sure you get your ticket in time. You have your visa already, and so you have no business waiting in Nigeria --EXCEPT your school resumption date is still more than 30 days. Please be warned! I wish all of you safe journey.
I advice all of you to leave latest 5 days before your school resumption, and make sure it is less than a month before your resumption. If you come in when it is still more than a month before your resumption date, forget it, you will be sent back live and you will need to buy another ticket. Be warned! And more importantly, AVOID LAX--Los Angelis International Airport, except you are going to that area. People are having issue with immigration at this port of entry! This information is coming directly from Texas, US. Emmanuel. Boss I just sent you a pm |

All praises to God Almighty for a successful visa Approval after I was denied visa two months ago( April 12 to be precise wasn't a nice day for me) and that was how I found this thread.i got advice from the gurus to refire and apply for a bachelor's degree rather than the associate degree I got denied for but I believe in God intervention and still went with the a community college I20...fast forward this morning the rain was much Chaii rain way sock me today no be here ooo plus the bus I entered stop at oniru if you are familiar with vi and I had to walk from there to bonny camp before I could get keke( I wish you could see me that morning you go pity for me) after my biometric verification I was on the line watin to be interview and I was fortunate to listen to profojah Interview Chaii the guy was so audible and the way he was gesticulating and explain his program as well I was like which kind wahala course be this bayi pale kini ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png) ....that's how I was directed to window three fresh looking young guy always with white earpiece....... Vo: Good morning Me: morning sir with a smile Vo: what's yours study plan? Me: I will be taking 64 credit of course work at a period of 24 month which some of the courses I will be taking include engineering graphics, dynamic, calculus and the likes prior to my graduation which I will be transferring to obtain a bachelor's degree ( vo look impressed with my response after denying the first two guys after bleeping with their response) Vo: Why associate degree and not bachelor's degree Me: I'm going for an associate degree because the only place I can get so much in depth knowledge on my field of study in my first two years at an affordable rate before transferring to a 4 years university happens to be a community college, so it's not really all about the associate degree but it's about what I can aquire and gain during the period before transferring Vo: Why did you choose this school Me: I choose baltimore city community college because I was impressed with the standard of the program I Was applying for after some extensive review I found out that they offer more hands on approach of the courses I will be taking compare to some traditional four years university in their first two years which was very impressive and was what I was looking for. Vo: what are your plans after graduation? Me: I intend transferring my 64 credit to Morgan state university to obtain a bachelor's degree in civil engineering after which I will be returning to practice in one of the top construction companies here in Nigeria Vo: when did you finish secondary school Me:2012 Vo:what have you been doing since then Me:after sec school I enrolled to a technical school to learn about satellite TV and cctv installation and afterwards I applied for an Advance level program which I finished in 2016 Vo:which other schools did you apply to Me: Morgan state university and Wester Nebraska community college Vo: so you intend going for an associate degree then you will transfer? Me yes sir Vo: I will be approving your visa pick it up in the..... Me: I went deaf and almost jump up.. I want to say a very big thanks you to everyone on the is thread you are all amazing and special thank you to @Teedawg and @neurosic for a one month intensive mock interview I don't know you in person to thank you enough but God Almighty will surely reward you and I hope to meet you guys someday..... Hello house I came up with this deferment letter I will be sending to my school cos I was denied visa at my first interview I want you to help me go through it if it's okay. Thank you house
Dear ** I am writing this letter in reference to my admission confirmation for the associate degree in engineering(course code). While am absolutely thrilled about this news, I would sadly like to defer my admission for the next academic semester(fall 2017). I was unable to meet up with my visa processes which hindered my travelling to united states of America as at said date for school resumption.I will like to defer my admission from summer (2017) to fall(2017). I really don’t want to miss out on this great privilege and opportunity of becoming one the students of this great institution which has been my long time dream and goal. I would be glad if my request is kindly considered. Thanks for your usual co-operation. |
