In November 2020, she left her role as the head of the Administrative Department in one of the federal parastatals and was transferred to a federal school. In her new place of work, she did not want to be an Administrative Officer, she felt she would make more impact as a teacher which was a great idea considering she has a degree in Education with her degree in Sociology. Even though many of her colleagues could not understand why she wanted to teach, they respected her decision but did not fail to tell her about the new policy and how she should start studying the TRCN past questions and answers.

I was thinking this would scare my mum because if she did not pass the professional examination, she would not be allowed to teach and after almost 25 years working as an Administrative Officer, this was her first real shot at teaching, but she was determined. She was so determined that she was on the hunt for resources that will help her get prepared, finally, she had her hands on this TRCN past questions, she read and practice extensively, My mum wrote the exams and passed in flying colors in her first trial. Unfortunately, most of her colleagues had to rewrite the exam.

SOLVING TRAFFIC CHALLENGES IN LAGOS.

When Lagos (‘Eko-akete’) comes to the mind of a typical Nigerian, the name rings a bell to many context that we might define it to be, frankly speaking, traffic challenges is a big social problem to every ‘Lagosians’ and to those who come to the state for one business or the other. It is an occurring social menace to the state; no thanks to the poor economy condition of the country which is increasing the population of Lagos state; there’s a massive influx of persons from every region of Nigeria seeking for greener pastures and supposed ‘beta-confam’ life in Lagos. As a Lagos resident, I can personally tell you how day-day traffic challenges have ruptured some of my schedules last year alone.



If I would be honest with you, I will tell you Governor ‘Jide Sanwo-olu is trying all possible to ensure there are palliative measures to solve this state menace. Sadly, however there’s no quick fix to traffic problems in Lagos state. To realize a solid solution, it requires an adequate process which must be followed; Firstly, there’s a need for total demolition of all unnecessary Round-about and ring roads, given for example the round-about at Maryland and Lekki phase1 is unnecessary, there could have been a standard traffic light or a Robotic technology installed to manage vehicular movement along that axis, it would help reduce traffic congestion rapidly.




Secondly, another major reason why there are traffic congestion in Lagos, there are many elites who go to their workplaces Monday’s-Friday’s with their cars, and unfortunately most workers move out at the same time so as to meet up with the 8am official resuming time. Who created the idea of every organization resuming by 8am in Nigeria? Well only God knows. In a saner clime, not all companies and organizations are expected to resume by 8am at once, some are structured to resume by 8am, 9am, and 10am. With this model, this would reduce early morning rush on Lagos roads and hereby reduce traffic congestion in Lagos.



However, encouraging most workers to use the BRT for their daily movement and parking their various cars at home would have been an effective idea, but sadly, this ’naija mentality’ that everyone must flaunt and show off their vehicles to their workplace is another factor. Last quarter of 2019, I was privileged to secure a ‘2-days in a week’ per-time job provision in Ikorodu axis while residing in Yaba, with this I am a frequent user of the Public mass-transit known as the ‘BlueBRT’ for my movement during the week. It’s always a herculean task to get ticket and queuing for minutes if not hours as the case maybe for the next BRT bus to convey passengers. The management running this BRT’s are not well organized. Many at times people are discouraged and being frustrated to use the BRT due to many flaws they encounter virtually every day with the BRT ‘wahala’, most importantly as we know Lagosians are always on the move, most people run business activities and they will want to meet up with time, Lagos state Government needs to fashion out good plans in making the BRT system work effectively for everyone so as to encourage people to use the public mass transit system inorder to solve traffic issues on the highway.

Police Arraign Young Editor, Campus Journalist over Report on Presidential Adviser’s Factory The Nigeria Police Force has arraigned the young Editor of NewsDigest, Abuja-based online newspaper, Gidado Yushau and award-winning Campus Journalist, Alfred Olufemi before a magistrate court in Ilorin Metropolis. They were arraigned over a petition from a company owned by the just appointed Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Finance and Economy, Dr. Sarah Alade over an investigative report on hemp smoking published on 19 May 2018. The investigative report titled:

“Inside Kwara factory where Indian hemp smoking is ‘legalized,” was authored by Mr Olufemi, a student journalist from one of the premier universities in the country. According to the report, Hillcrest Agro-Allied Industry, one of the groups of companies owned by the former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Sarah Alade tolerated the smoking of cigarettes, as well as Indian hemp by workers within its vicinity. The report also stated that the industry refused to respond to Olufemi’s inquiry on the disturbing situation after he had put several calls and text messages to the industry’s hotlines. Police operatives earlier arrested the platform’s professional webmaster, Adebowale Adekoya in Lagos and Gidado Yushau in Abuja before taking them to Ilorin for further questioning.

Olufemi Alfred voluntarily submitted himself to the police later in Ilorin. According to the police, their arrest was based on a petition received from the company’s management, which debunked the claims in the publication. However, on Tuesday, the two defendants (Gidado and Alfred) were charged with Criminal conspiracy and defamation against Sections 97 and 192 of the penal code.

The First Information Report (FIR) obtained by PRNigeria averred that the two defendants “criminally conspired to tarnish the name and image of Hillcrest Agro-Allied Industries” Both Messrs Shuaib and Olufemi pleaded not guilty before a Magistrate Court in Ilorin Metropolis Following the bail application made by the defence counsel, Barrister Usman Kola Belgore, the Chief Magistrate of the Court, Magistrate A.O Muhammed released the defendants on grounds of recognition and that they are innocent until proven otherwise. The conditions of bail include two sureties each who are relatives of the defendants with a bail bond of two hundred thousand naira(N200,000.00) The case was adjourned for hearing on January 13. Earlier, Messrs Gidado Shuaib and Adekoya were detained and subsequently released by the Kwara State Police Command after they were thoroughly quizzed for publishing the investigative report.

A LEBANESE Hamza Koudeih and two other suspected accomplices of social media celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha (a.k.a. Mompha), have been arrested in Lagos.

In a swift effort to rescue the judge, the Inspector General of Police has deployed a special team of policemen to Akure.

Justice Abdul Dogo of the federal high court in Akure, Ondo State, has been kidnapped by gunmen while travelling from Abuja to Akure.

He was abducted on Tuesday.

Ambode was allegedly spotted somewhere outside Nigeria yesterday, as Lagos Assembly begins the process of arresting him for his failure to honour their invitations in the ongoing investigation of the purchased 800 buses under his government.
Former Governor of Lagos state, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has refused to honour the house invitation twice and some of his former aides have indicted him of fraud in the procurement process.

The house has threatened to order for his arrest any moment from now. Ambode continue to claim innocent of all charges and blamed his godfather behind the witch hunt.

Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) stormed the mosque premises to protest against the continuous detention of their leader, Sheikh El-Zakzaky.


They began the protest at the National Mosque, Abuja, when President President Muhammadu Buhari came for the special Jumma’at prayers for the inauguration next week.


The protesters were restrained by stern looking security personnel who surrounded the premises as the president was driven into the mosque.

In yet another unfortunate incident, a container-laden truck tipped over and fell on a car, crushing the driver who was identified as Mr. Taofeek to death.

The incident happened on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Mile 2 area of Lagos Mainland.

According to reports, the driver Mr. Taofeek who was killed by the container accident has been buried following the incident yesterday.

It was however reported that the owner of the car who was seating at the back seat narrowly escaped being crushed.

Mile 2 road has been in the news recently due to the neglect of the road by both the state and the federal government.

Tanker drivers have turned this once peaceful abode into their parking space which endangers the lives of people around this axis, especially what is seen in this place. Most times these containers do not have enough safety measures, some are not properly seated to the base of the vehicle.

An oil well reported to be owned by Chevron, was said to have been flaring gas in the community since April 18, and has been on fire without no attention from the Fire service.



A resident of the community shared a video on twitter and said:

"This oil well in Ugbo-Ilaje, Ondo state operated by Chevron has been on fire, flaring gas since April 18 to this day - that's 36 days of gas flaring in the community without the government doing anything
