Politics / Re: Fresh Plot To Remove Nuhu Ribadu by Aleksys: 4:02pm On Dec 25, 2007
If Nuhu is going to attend NIPSS as posited by Okiro, so well be it. While I'm one of those die hard Ribadu's fan, I believe that he is still going to be useful in other areas of our national life and he has to be prepared. Think of what will happen if Nuhu is to head the Nigeria Police today as the Inspector General or better still as the president of this great nation. He is not going to rotten in EFCC for ever. There is higher calling waiting for him. However if the criminal ex-govs think they can pull some unholy trick on Nigerians, and Okiro allow himself to be used for such and ignominous stunt, then he and his cohorts should start to prepare their will. They may as well begin to enjoy their funeral while alive.
Religion / Re: Why Do We Humans Die, Why Cant We Live Forever by Aleksys: 3:32pm On Dec 25, 2007
From my perception, I think the earth was created to recycle and renew itself. Likewise everything therein be it human and material. Take rain for instance that falls due to moisture from the heat of the sun. It is like everything has been made to go in circle and in cycle. The same thing I think, goes for the living being, we come, we live, we die and we are recycled. Don't ask me how because all evidence around us point to the fact that we live in a huge recycling plant called earth. What keeps us alive? Is it not the breath of life that God breath into our nostrils? When you breath in and you can breath out or vise versa then kaput, yamutu, dead. So that breath of life will be recycled for somebody else to come alive. Life is a continuum. There is life after life. It is a necessary end so why should you be scared? even if you are scared from now to eternity you will die anyway. The only danger is that the fear of death may kill you before your time. Coward dies many times before their death but the valiant never have a taste of death but once. Leave a positive, guilt free life. Do your very best for your fellowman and when death come calling you will be ready to embrace it with a smile. If you leave otherwise, go on your knee today and repent whole heartedly and resolve to turn a new leaf. You all stay blessed in the new year and may the Lord lenghthen our days to see our children children. Amen
Politics / Why Owners Of Recovered Stolen Vehicles Rarely Get Them Back by Aleksys: 1:38am On Dec 25, 2007
I was stunned to read the reason proffered by the police department with regard to the above. One Mr. Emmanuel, a robbery victim said he coughed out 20,000 naira on his first visit to the police after his car was snatched and 2,000 naira after each subsequent visit all in the name of locating his stolen car. Granted the police in a small way is changing, but the fact remains that the police in Nigeria today is still largely corrupt. I think the only panacea to this unholy force is the Ribadu's kind of vision and commitment.
Politics / The Quick Recipe For Nigeria Economic Greatness by Aleksys: 5:38pm On Dec 20, 2007
I cannot but feel nostalgic about Nigeria immediately before and after independence. Nigeria with three regions all struggling and competing to outdo one another. Since the creation of these glorified local governments called states, Nigeria match to economic promised land has been completely halted. I think with the new political landscape of six geo-political zone, we can quickly reclaim the lost glory. How about cancelling these beggar states and revert to six regions.
Romance / Re: Should A Man Know His Wife Or Girlfriend's Past? by Aleksys: 5:28pm On Dec 20, 2007
Distinction should of necessity be made between having a failed relationship and promiscuity. There is nothing wrong with a woman sharing the experience of a failed relationship but where a woman is proving to be promiscous, I am sorry that will be crossing the line. Nobody want to have a LovePeddler for a wife. The same thing applies to a man. A man that sleep around with everything in skirt is not only irresponsible, he is also a health risk. I think the rule applies to both man and woman. Remember AIDS IS REAL
Religion / Re: Jehovah's Witnesses And Cash by Aleksys: 2:02pm On Dec 20, 2007
It goes without saying that money is the wheel of good news. JW like every other religious group need money to spread the gospel. You may not agree with their method or their "doctrine" but you cannot fault their devotion. However, all religious group have their peculiar method. RCCG organize revivals and is arguably the fastest growing church in the world. The same goes for Abundant Life and so on and so forth. Safe for the jet set churches in the US where the pastors or founders cruise around in private jets and live in stupendously luxurious mansions at the expense of their donors, I think the evangelical churches are doing great jobs. Judgement the Bible say is of the Lord.
Politics / Re: Iyabo Obasanjo In Contract Scandal by Aleksys: 1:34pm On Dec 20, 2007
Rushing into judgement on an case reported in the newspaper is definitely not a fair way to judge matters. However if I read the story well, the actors in the matter went to international arbitration court and the expartriate lost. Likewise, they have their day in the local court and they also lost. Don't you guys think that this two hallowed institutions would not have collaborated with Iyabo and Awofisayo against the Austrian so called expartriates? Please do not visit the sin of the father on the daughter as this will be inimical to the rule of natural justice.

Is your question restricted to Nigeria or the world over?
Religion / Re: Do Children, babies And Aborted Feutus Go To Hell Or Heaven? by Aleksys: 12:52am On Dec 19, 2007
MrMayor, you have perhaps inadvertently raised a very important issue that transcend our armchair belief or religious leaning. The other question I will like to ask is that; Are we or is anybody heaven bound in the first place? Remember Ps.37:11 says the meek ones will inherit the earth. Have you ever sit back and ask yourself, if the meek ones should posess the earth then who is going to posess the heaven? The Bible says, Moses was the meekest man upon the surface of the earth yet he did not reach the promise land. Isaiah 45:18 says "For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else" Matt.5:5 says: "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth". I think the only hope for us is ressurection and the Bible talked about two type of ressurections in John 5:29 Ressurection of life and 2. Ressurection to judgement. Also Acts 24:15 talked about the ressurection of the just and the unjust. So why do we bother ourselves with hereafter? Bottomline? Do the most good that you can while you are alive and live the hereafter to God who will judge both the dead and the living.
Politics / Re: Obasanjo Scared: Begs Atiku For Forgiveness! by Aleksys: 11:14pm On Dec 18, 2007
This storyline is another sensation that is rampmant in Nigeria journalism. We have not seeing anything yet. It is a matter of time that the so call untouchables of today will come around to reveal all their misdeeds while in power. I am yet to come to term with how stupendously rich some civil servant like Atiku became with their meagre salary. Likewise OBJ and IBB and so many others like them. The words of legal icon Gani Fawehinmi is highly instructive. He said years ago that Nigeria of tomorrow will emerge after a terrible revolution and whoever leads the revolution will hold his hand high with blood dripping the at the dawn of the revolution. Ghana's experience is instructive. Let them continue to scheme, judgement day is around the corner.
Business / Re: A Driver Returns 18 Million Naira by Aleksys: 6:12am On Dec 18, 2007
Shakespeare said" To thyself be true". The basic truth is that I cannot tell what I will do if I find myself in the driver's shoe. Come to think of it 18million Naira.! Whoever can afford to forget such unholy amount of money in a cab definitely will not drop dead if he could not recover it. I may decide of course to go to church and give glory to God. However, I will try to create employment for as many people as possible so that in turn they will be able to break away from their own vicious cycle of neglect and want and in turn create a chain of better life for many. He who forget 18million quid in a cab definitely have hundred fold if not thousand fold where that one came from. Talk about Manah from heaven, who says it has stopped falling?
Religion / Re: Should True Followers Of Jesus The Christ Celebrate 25 December by Aleksys: 5:45am On Dec 18, 2007
Xmas celebration purely as Jesus birthday is nothing short of deliberate mixture of the scripture with popular atheistic beliefs. This idea was introduced by the early roman empire as a ploy to present itself as a Christian State without renouncing its atheistic beliefs and traditions. Hosea 4:6 says: "people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I Myself will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children". 2Timothy 4:3-4 also says: "For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables". We do not need a rocket scientist to know that Jesus was not born in the winter. All we need do is simply read the scripture.
Religion / Re: God Said Nigeria Will Be The Greatest Nation In The World - Adeboye by Aleksys: 7:50pm On Dec 16, 2007
God and politics are strange bedfellows. I am sick and tired of men of God going out of their way to meddle in unwholesome business of politics. Come to think of it, many RCCG members may be members of AC while some may be PDP. What will be the fate of these guys if their party is not favored in the man of Gods prophesy? or better still, what will happen if the prophesy of the man of God favors the opponent of his prophesy. Jesus said my kingdom is not of this world or else my father would have sent legions of angels to defend me. Biblical message of living an upright moral and spiritual life should be the sole message of the church and not politics. Politics as it is not only in Nigeria is too divisive and God is not a God of disorder.
Religion / Re: Redeemed Church Opens World's Biggest Auditorium, Costs N7.7b by Aleksys: 3:54am On Dec 15, 2007
When on earth, Jesus supported the building of a befitting place of worship to the living God. Hence the widow's mite that has become the yardstick for measuring the spirit behind our giving to the Lord. Mary Magdalene masaged Jesus legs with expensive oil and Judas complained, he (Judas) suggested that the money Mary used to buy the expensive oil could be used to feed the poor. Jesus simply told him that "You shall always have the poor among you".
Therefore whatever or how much we spend to glorify God in any way should not be a subject of controversy.
