If there is a god and he loves you, the first thing he would do is to get you out of Nigeria.

Religion / Re: Songs In The Night, Music in the Battle. by alfaman2: 3:37pm On Apr 11, 2013
Look into the mind of a christian and see the emptiness. The fear.

Look at their actions when confronted with everyday troubles and see the futility and the hopelessness.

Nigerians are really useless. Sitting idle and waiting for an imaginary god to do their job for them.

NL member: Great points, I particularly agree with the part about the garden of eden and the forbidden fruit, but OP your thread title is offensive to theists. It would have been better to give the title a less inflammatory heading like 'the problem of god's omniscience' or something else of that sort.

Christians might be too angry with you because of the way you insulted their god to take your thread serious or to see the message within it.

I don't see anything wrong in calling a fraudster a fraudster. Except if you worship one.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Manner Of Man Is Ikenna, Politics Section New Mod? by alfaman2: 3:01pm On Apr 11, 2013
For all those saying that this section needs to be tribalism free, please do yourself a favour and come back to earth, or at least go back home and see things with your eyes. What is politics in Nigeria without tribalism? Nobody has ever heard of that before and it is a foreign concept to us. Nigeria is not France or Germany where they have no tribes wanting to rule others. So all you diasporans that think you can impose your foreign boring politics on us better think again. We are Nigerians. We don't care what you think. We hate each other even though we live together. That is how we do it. We are tribal beings. We love it. Asking us not to be tribalistic is like asking a fish not to swim or a dog not to bark. It is our nature to be tribal in politics. So dear new mods. Na you go tire. The dog will bark. The lion will roar. The snake will hiss. Ain't nothing you can do about it except killing the political section of nairaland.

Whenever I see yoruba people whinning because Igbo guys are doing better jobs than them, I can't stop laughing. Seun, first started tribalism by making only his tribesmen moderators. They nearly lost him his forum. Now he is employing Igbo people because if he wants his business to succeed, he has no other option.

Strikers: Alfaman and ooman

Alfaman has been forced to play a bit deep into the attack, behind ooman, the new top striker. His prowess in front of goal is yet to be tested as the referees, Jesoul and manmustwack, have been quick to issue him a red card whenever he is with the ball. This however is just a small glitch cause the new coach is on the job.

What can you do when the referees have been bought and paid for by the opposition.

Mr Man, now that you have finally found a job, I advice you concentrate on your job and not take these yeye people seriously.

Nairaland is not a public forum but a private business. The day atheism will make more money for Seun, that day Maclatunji and Jesoul are gone.

But there is something I thought you understood before which I am doubting that you actually do. Internet commentries have done more to kill religions and enlighten people than 1000 years of good work. Even I became fully atheist after joining NL and reading the comments on this section.
Think about it. Do you believe Jesoul and Mclatunji's shenanigans and stifling freedom of speech are pushing people to god or away from their gods?

Believe me, internet is making a lot of difference and those two only showcase to doubters what religious power could lead people to do.

So where are you based now? Nigeria or UK?

bibina:

Teacher, though i am teachable, i shall not agree with you in all things! i am getting deeper into this and verily I say to you, i am enthralled by your innate and profound fount of mastery. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, I believe in His words, this believing means I have faith in things that I do not see. It is on this Faith I stand and shall receive the grace and promise in this generation even though others before me did not receive though they believed as recorded in Hebrews 11:13-16. The bible I mean the new testament applies to me! a Nigerian by birth of African descent; if I truly forsake the ways of sin and confess Jesus as my Lord and personal saviour, my sins shall be forgiven and i shall become a new man and I shall begin to enjoy all the privileges accorded those who are in Christ!!! The curse of the law shall no longer applies to me. by the death and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST every curse was lifted and those chained were freed. When a man keys into the new covenant, the old covenant ceases to subsist.

What you said teacher means that the death and resurrection of the Christ was in vain and i say NO, BABU, MBA, EEEIYO!!!!!! HIS death on that cross washed away my sins so satan cannot judge me because my advocate had redeemed me through the BLOOD. I am still teachable, Teacher teach me

You sound like one of the mentally challenged the op is on about.

bibina:

this is becoming interesting brother, "it is appointed for man once to die and after its judgement" my understanding of this english is simple! it means to me a man can only die once!! and after the death he faces judgement!!!. However, if I understood you well, man will continue to die until he pays for his past sins as judgement. Keep in mind I only want to learn so I am not in any way debating the issue. I am teachable, so teach me

The verse is 100% correct. Man dies only once. The problem you have is you are confusing man with spirit. The spirit does not die but reincarnates. God clearly distinguishes between flesh (man) and spirit (soul).

John 3:6

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

What happens when man dies?

Ecclesiastes 12:7

7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

So who is this dust it is talking about?

Psalm 103:14

14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

If you still believe in the bible and think spirits don't come back, check out this passage:

Hebrews 11:13-16

13 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. 14 People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. 15 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

You see the bolded. Spirits who want to always have opportunity to return, so that prophesies (or promises) could be fulfilled.
Religion / Re: What Will Be The Fate Of Those Mentally Challenged on Judgement Day? by alfaman2: 12:32pm On Apr 08, 2013
playto: Beware!!! Don't be deceived Some people twist the Scriptures and say that Jesus Himself taught reincarnation or "cyclical rebirth." In Matthew 11:14, for example, Jesus said, "And if you are willing to accept it, [John the Baptist] is the Elijah who was to come." Likewise, in John 3:3 Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."

But these passages, rightly interpreted, do not support reincarnation. Matthew 11:14 does not really teach that John the Baptist was a reincarnation of Elijah. Luke 1:17, an important cross reference, tells us that the ministry of John the Baptist was carried out "in the spirit and power of Elijah." Moreover, reincarnationists conveniently forget that John the Baptist, when asked if he was Elijah, flatly answered, "No!" (John 1:21).
There are other Scriptures that clearly debunk the notion of reincarnation. Hebrews 9:27 tells us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment...." Each human being lives once as a mortal on earth, dies once, and then faces judgment. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body. Second Corinthians 5:8 indicates that at death the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. Luke 16:19-31 indicates that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.

You misread the bible and mislead the sheeple.

Paschal007: LOl @obadiah seems like you've got a new fan.

But what would Jesus do? I think he'd be like 'let him without sin cast the 1st stone. *everyoNe sneaks away* then he'll turn to the op 'is there no one left to condemn you? Neither do i. Now go home and sin No more'.

Right? grin

I am sure the agrieved husband would cast a stone whatever the consequence.
