Education / Re: FUNAAB To Admit 3,800 Out Of 17, 334 Candidates by allinks: 8:07am On Sep 20, 2016 |
While the news isn't a good one, but it is the truth. No university across the globe admit applicants of that number. The reasons for the establishment of National Open University is to bridge that gap. Critically examining the situation of the education system in the country, it will be discovered that the damages done to our education is not only from the government and other stakeholders in the sector, you and I did also contributed a lot to the problems and the damages. For instance, several years back when Kogi State University was created, I did choose the school and was offer admission, but my parents and friends as at that time wanted me to go to UI, UNILAG, OAU. Due to their influence on me, I forfeited the chance, the reason gave then was that KSU is a new school and wouldn't stand a test of time before collapsing. The bitter truth is that for several years I could not secure admission to the schools listed above which is the choice of my parents and friends. Got admitted into Osun State Polytechnic, Iree to study Comp Engineering when I couldn't get in the schools mention above The bitter truth is so many folks out there complains about open and distance learning. This pedagogy for teaching and learning is the next face of education system globally. You can do the mathematics of taking away 3800 from 17000+ applicants. In Open and Distance Learning, there is no barrier to any number of student that could be admitted since there is no confined area for the teaching and learning to take place, in ODL, teaching and learning takes place in space. Few months back, met with five Nigerians who got their Ph.D through Distance Learning from other universities in another countries. The bottom line for all these write up is for the nigeria students to take a look @ Open and Distance Learning institutions such as National Open University Of Nigeria and any other school in the country licensed by the NUC for Distance Learning. Experience they say is a good teacher. The agricultural experience and exposure of the old western state brought this rhymes into schools. Ladies and gentlemen of the nairaland, Please, sing this rhymes along with me, for the time has come for this country to be back on her feet. Education / Re: “JAMB Used Wrong Software For 2016” by allinks: 11:53am On Mar 25, 2016 |
At a time like this, many critics of the body will come out to display to the world why this and that. A software for 2015/2016 conflicting 2016/2017 isn't scientifical, it would be extremely wrong to assume that the problem here is the conflict. If we are all familiar with so many of these quiz's tools available everywhere in the world, they all adopt the same marking techniques, the marking engine running beneath the interface is what is responsible for the score. And there is no how to marking engines runs beneath a single program. The error, could be that the questions are not properly assigned the mark weight for each of the questions available for student to take for examination. First thing, as a citizen of this world, where others get it right, we ought to be sensitive enough on the type of information given out at any point in time whenever there is need for such. Saying according to our source in Jamb. For crying out loud, it is possible for me to be in jamb and not having idea of how xyz comes together before playing together. The "department" in all organisations establishes this theory, is the so called source in jamb an IT officer? One of the big factors playing down on us all is our attitude to resist a positive change. I am not in support of Jamb, but truth be told, enough of this I can say and I'll say without a fact. No wonder Bishop Oyedepo during a speech @ function talked about a Ph.D being a waste if no positive thinking leading to positive innovations for the benefit for us all. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: HELP! Is This A Scam Or Real (photos Attached) by allinks: 9:41pm On Mar 22, 2016 |
@ OP, most of the time I come on nairaland to ease off stress and do some readings on any topic that arrest my attention. This your post did not only arrested my attention, it does seized every attention of mine. I will start by telling you that a deal as the one explained is nothing but a scam. Pls, forgive my narrative skill. If you do google search, yahoo, metasearch and some underground tools to look up the info on the internet, guy, you will find info on it. But this is how it works. Do not know if you have heard of a site dubbing tools. These guys are professional in the sense that they will use to tools to duplicate the entire site, check your mail, it is possible for them to send you a link, and when open the link, it takes you to the duplicated site, they monitors all activities being carried out on the site. This is how they pick their target. I experienced such sometimes in 2004, I wasn't that observant then, mine was from canada, huge amount of money went into it then. I am on phone, don't so much enjoy doing typing from here, would have love to share the method with you all. It was after they made way with 570k as at that time and nothing came forth that I came back to my sense and asked a guru friend of mine who was @ the time based in romania, to help look up every info on the said site, emails. Phone contacts etc . Infact, chairman, run run run. Thanks. |
Education / Re: JAMB Adopts Item Response Theory To Reduce Possibility Of Guessing Answers Right by allinks: 10:41pm On Feb 26, 2016 |
Hmmmmmm, As you all can see, I think it is high time we show to the world in general that our brain does so much of what the westerner does too. Dr. sir, we so much appreciate if a technical analysis of the said acquired software could be made available, is the software, a oyinbo or nigeria made? What made the software to be able to eliminate guess work? Pls, irrespective of the million spent on the software, we should all be guided, trying justifying your pay by making us to look fool and stupid is not what Nigeria will accept from you. Thank you. |

Politics / Re: Boko-Haram Leader, Shekau, Opens Facebook Profile! by allinks: 6:56pm On May 21, 2013 |
FB Account by boko 2 things: 1. This could be used to lure and redirect the nigeria army and the likes into an area they could be dealt with and show to us they are on top, this is called diversionary tactics. 2. As it had been pointed out in some of the post under this thread, which is looking out for means of recruiting more youth to join the group. Experience in IT generally, It is a could be the first mentioned aboved as this has been used by many group in the past. an example is placing a call thru to SO thru a bug phone while they as in the group is aware that the line had been bugged. also, location detection on fb is an on demand thing. so for group like bh to have enable all of this means something. little advice, don't fall cheap for things like this, if they can operate best and latest weapons, they should be able to manipulate mainframe. abo oro lanso fun omoluabi |

Politics / Re: G8 Leaders To Discuss Nigeria’s Controversial Oil Wealth Wastage by allinks: 1:50pm On Feb 03, 2013 |
As much as I love this to be discussed. It is a complete mess on all our leaders that issues like what is planned to be discussed can not be thoroughly looked into and effect changes. Now, they are gathering together to discuss this, and what ever the out-come is, will be shared among these nations called G-8. And the effect of this will tell on the economy of the country now or later. Why? An allies could be formed by these group of nations and the so called leaders in our own local community to loot all these funds. Oyinbo man are kinda looking for a mungo park (ode) nations so as to continue their usual ways with them. ......................... My opinion |

Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by allinks: 3:00pm On Jan 10, 2013 |
The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN)has three different websites which are for different purpose 1.www.nou.edu.ng =========== this is the school official site 2.www.noun.edu.ng ========== this is the school course\exam, etc website, usually called student portal 3.http://tma.noun.edu.ng ==== this is the student tutor marked assignment pages, which rendered on to ur desktops the questions or assignment that will be used as ur C.A. Now, back to the main issue, the admission @ noun is unlike of the other like of hers. The admission process is purely e, as in it is e-admission processes. The admission engine running at the back-end of the process captures your information that u keyed in and send it down to admission officer in each of the schools that the university has, the engine would have cross checked your data keyed in against the admission criteria, if you are found to be eligible for the admission, this grants to you right to be admitted. One thing i advised pple to always ensure is that when applying, ensure that u key in the most correct info, and these includes your results of any kind, meaning o-level for undergraduate, first degree for post graduate and the working experiences, then a recent passport is very important when u applied. If all parameters are keyed in well and u have a result for the program u are applying for, as in required result for the programme, the the admission is yours instantly, Before applying to noun for any program, always ensure that you get the most updated info for the program, this can be obtained by visiting the study center nearer to you and seek for the attention of the academic counselor for clarity, and what program your result could get you admitted for. Academic Counselor are placed in all study centers nation-wide to be there for you when things are not that clear. Please, all the peep house in the house feel free to ask question, will be glad to throw more light into it. Thanks and God Bless. |
