Politics / Re: Policemen Claim NSCDC Officials Provoked Them Into KIlling by ALLWILBWELL: 10:56am On Mar 28, 2013
THERE SEEMS TO BE NO LOVE LOST AND A TERRIBLE DISCONNECT AMONG OUR SECURITY AGENCIES. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A PROPER CENTRAL COORDINATION OF THESE SO MANY SECURITY BODIES. EVERY SECURITY BODY SEEMS TO BE ON ITS OWN. TO COMPOUND THE PROBLEM, THEY ARE LOCKED UP IN SUPREMACY TUSSLE. THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WE HAVE SO MANY SECURITY LAPSES/BREACHES. THE NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER SHOULD SORT OUT THIS EMBARRASSING SITUATION AS A MATTER OF URGENCY. EFFECTIVE SECURITY CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED THROUGH HARMONIOUS WORKING RELATIONSHIP AND NETWORKING AMONG THE VARIOUS AGENCIES ENTRUSTED WITH THE RESPONSIBILITY.

I BEG OF YOU NAIRALANDERS,LET US ALWAYS MAKE OUR COMMENTS WITHOUT TRIBAL VITUPERATION. WE NEED HELP IN THIS COUNTRY. ALL THESE ONLINE TRIBAL "WARS" WILL NOT HELP US. LET US JOIN HANDS TOGETHER TO PUT THINGS RIGHT SO THAT WE CAN HAVE A COUNTRY WE SHALL ALL BE PROUD OF. THE MUCH NEEDED REVOLUTION THAT WILL SET THIS COUNTRY ON THE RIGHT TRACK IS THAT OF THE MIND. THERE HAS TO BE A REVOLUTION IN OUR MINDSET SO THAT WE CAN APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT ALL TRIBES IN THIS COUNTRY ARE SUFFERING IN ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. WITHOUT THIS REVOLUTION OF THE MIND WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN HANDS TOGETHER AND FIGHT FOR POSITIVE CHANGE. RATHER, WE SHALL REMAIN DIVIDED ON TRIBAL/ETHNIC LINES. UNITED, WE STAND. DIVIDED, WE FALL. THANKS TO YOU ALL.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, PASSING IN THE BOX. ...Ok, let's take a look at this from another angle. ...You are old enough to sort out things right from wrong, as in what your parent couldn't offer when you were a kid, will you continue to blame your parent for what went wrong for the rest of your life or you take responsibility of your life as an adult?

Can we sblame the british for all the wrong doings of our leaders e.g IBORI, ALAMESIA, BANKOLE and other big thieves that steals public and neglect their mother land.

Wake up my brother, lets accept we are total flop bcause we don't get our priority right.

Don't pick on conservative as they are trying to fix up their system, so pick on all the bloody MONEY MONGER LEADERS back home to FIX UP.

I am not saying that we should pass the buck to the neo-colonialists. Neither am I saying that they are responsible for everything that is wrong in Nigeria. But anyone who is conversant with world politics, especially the neo-colonialism agenda will also think twice before dismissing that angle. Nigeria is a potential threat anytime anyday to neocoloniasts agenda. If Nigeria is able to stand on her feet, it will be the emergence of another world power. Not just world power, but one located in a continent richly endowed with resources much sought after by the neocolonialists. Of course, all of us need attitudinal change. It is not enough to criticise government day and night, while we in our small spheres also do terrible things. Nigerians should know that it is not in the best interest for the imperialists for us to make it as a country. There is therefore that possibility of external dimensions to our internal problems. And operating indirectly, without being noticed is an effective method to achieve victory by the enemy. This knowledge should make us to come together, put our house in order and resolutely resist both internally and externally motivated problems that are capable of crippling us.

The above is just the sort of thing one often hears from the white man. Black always blame others for their problems, you hear them state without irony when no one blames others for their problems more than whites do. Here in the UK, for instance, they would have you accept that the root cause of all that has gone wrong with Britain are immigrants. Since the conservatives came to power, the unemployed, immigrants and foxes are all to blame for National problems.

Blacks didn't invent espionage, which could be thought of as a concept informed by exploitation and suspicion of foreigners.

This terrorism in Nigeria is truly largely foreign sponsored and we'd be naive to the extreme to ignore all the evidence. The author is right, though, when he/she advises self help. And there's no doubt the borders should be a major priority.

[b]Thank you very much. I am not saying that we should pass the buck to the neo-colonialists. Neither am I saying that they are responsible for everything that is wrong in Nigeria. Politics / Re: Ribadu: Farida, Ibori Destroyed EFCC's Efforts To Fight Corruption by ALLWILBWELL: 11:03am On Mar 25, 2013
Ribadu and Farida operated under different leaders, situations and circumstances. I don't think it is proper for Ribadu to speak this way. Under his leadership, many people perceived EFCC as partial. EFCC operated as though it was a special unit set up to silence corrupt leaders who were perceived as opponents of the government of that day. From my point of view, if EFCC under Ribadu acted with same vigour and zeal across board, not focussing their searchlight on political "enemies" only, it would have recorded excellent performance. I am not blaming Ribadu for this seeming impartiality but I want him to know that he is not an angel. He probably acted to please his boss. As for Farida, the handling (or is it "mishandling")of Ibori's case totally rubbishes her achievements. There was a rumour that time that Ibori was very close to the then President Yaradua and even the current president. Farida had to also please her boss. She too is not an angel. In a nutshell, none should judge or condemn the other. Both of them should leave the assessment of their performance to Nigerians. I believe both of them tried their best under the circumstances in which they operated.I pray that the current leadership of EFCC will have enough boldness not just to bark but to also be able to bite, without fear or favour.
Politics / Re: Why Is There So Much Ethnic Rivalry On Nairaland? by ALLWILBWELL: 10:35am On Mar 25, 2013
I thank the OP sincerely for this post. I feel so worried about the fact that every thread on Nairaland is usually turned to a tribal "war". And I suspect that most of the pple on Nairaland are youths. What then lies ahead for this great country. Can Nigeria attain greatness in the nearest future when the youths are tribally and ethnically bigoted? How long are we going to continue this way. This tribal disputes/frictions/animosities have not helped us in the past. If we are yearning for a positive and radical change in this country, then we should do something about these tribal suspicions. This change must start from you and me. Let us come to an agreement that when one Nigerian does a good thing, we have all done a good thing; and when a Nigerian does a bad thing, we should all feel that that fellow has disappointed and disgraced us all. Outside the country, we are all seen as Nigerians. When a Nigerian misbehaves outside the country, he is not seen as hausa, igbo or yoruba. He is seen as a Nigerian. Attributing the glory of a successful Nigerian to a particular tribe and the disgrace to another tribe is condemnable. No tribe is bad, but every tribe has its own share of bad elements. Dear Nigerians, please, lets see ourselves as brothers and sisters. Lets show love to one another. This is the only way we can make progress as a country. Thanks to you all.

Hmmmnnn....America....I hope this is not part of their antics to cause commotion in Nigeria in order to make their prediction for the disintegration of Nigeria in 2015 come to pass. I am beginning to believe the theory of external influence in some of these terrible occurences in the country. Naija people, lets put aside ethnic and tribal chauvinism/animosity. Let us work together for a better country. Lets not play into the hands of the imperialists and neo-colonialists.
