Family / Re: Why Do Women Change Their Names After Getting Married?? by AlPeter: 5:07pm On Mar 22, 2018 |
MyOpinion1: why must everything be coined "feminist"
Their are several women who retain their father's name and added their husband name
Their are several women who changed their name completely to their husband after marriage
Their are several women who retain their maiden name even after marriage.
Reading through comments here, I can see some egoistic men trying to play lords and lords on everything, some even attributed reasons why a woman should change her name to men paying the dowry AS IF PAYING HER DOWRY MEANS BUYING HER FROM HER PARENTS.
Live and let others live, payment of dowry doesn't means the woman will not contribute financially to the marriage especially now that most men are too Lazy but only bossy. so I think change of ones name or not doesn't make anyone a feminist but a matter of like and choice.
NOTE: Most married women from rich family do not change their paternal name but added the husband name and that doesn't make them "FEMINIST"
thanks, madam it's a matter of choice. Don't understand what the fuss is all about. It's because of people like this OP that I am against the feminist movement. Let's pray some bitter overzealous women don't hijack it. |

Gozbrown: messi is already better than maradona and Pele combined, with or without a world cup. He is the best ever, people who say he needs a world cup to surpass dis duo know nothing about football. oga you obviously know nada about football. Messi's achievement at club level is a result of an amazing collective team effort. What I mean is, barcelona makes Messi, a very good player, look exceptional. This deception is exposed in the national team, where despite it being filled with a lot of good attacking players have not won any major trophy even with Messi's presence. Herein lies the difference between Messi and the likes of Maradona and Pele; Messi needs teams to make him exceptional Maradona and Pele make teams exceptional |

If we were to go by your logic even Ethiopia, Japan and China will be regarded as colonized countries |
Education / Re: Which Country Colonised England? by AlPeter: 10:11am On Mar 12, 2018 |
Are we talking of settling or colonization because almost all the people described here were settlers. The Romans were the only ones with a claim to that but they were more of invaders than colonial masters. Alfred the Great King of Wessex defeated and pushed the vikings out. William the Conquerors invasion was a war of succession Mhiztamurtala: The use of ‘country’ here is problematic. When England was substantially colonised (quite some time before it was ‘England’, in fact), the modern conception of nation-states did not exist. The colonists themselves were not representing anything we would recognise as a ‘country’, so the term cannot be applied accurately.
Prehistoric colonists remain largely unknown, to the best of my knowledge. Archaeology demonstrates that migration was a factor even in neolithic times, but we can’t know the extent of it. Celtic culture certainly arrived from somewhere, at some point, but when and whence are unknown and possibly unknowable.
The Romans conquered the British mainland south of the Hadrian/Antonine Walls, and colonies were founded during the period of their rule.
After the Roman Empire withdrew, invaders/colonists came from all over northern Europe (mainly the coastal regions of modern Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and others - but before any of these places were organised into ‘countries’).
The most recent were the Normans who followed William the Conqueror and his successors. The Normans had more of a national identity, but calling Normandy a ‘country’ would be a stretch.

leofab: why not debunk only of his fallacious assertions instead of crying like a rat on menstration. for one iin 1957 when discussing Nigeria's indepedence the issue of our continued existence as a nation was discussed. The Igbos, represented by the NCNC, were the one's who fought the Yorubas, represented by the AC, tooth and nail for the continuance of Nigeria as a nation. After the AC submitted another proposition was made by the AC; inclusion of a succession clause in the constitution. The same NCNC threatened to report the leadership of the AC to the British on charges of treason. Years later it's the same myopic fooz disturbing the peace all over shouting contraption contraption. If there's a people in Nigeria that should complain about the creation of Nigeria it's the Benins a people who ruled almost the entire SS, get tributes from the SE and controlled some f the SW before the British but were reduced to only one state because they fought the British. misterawo blaqoracle AburoBuhari Histrings08 daveP iamchybs ib0221 muykem Hofbrauhaus policy12 Reski Tolexander 12 Likes 1 Share |
