Hello all !

If some one is studying on scholarship and then wants to voluntary leave the scholarship at any stage, will they have to make any payment to Turkiye Burslari or can just leave the scholarship ?

Please let me know it is very important for me.

perfildeluna: If you look for some groups in Facebook you will find a lot of people talking about this: Turkish Scholarships... and Turkiye Burslari...

They are saying that they have just received a mail with the dates of the flight (Turkish Airlines), so they are buying the tickets and they are between 1st and 6th October... I didn´t receive any mail yet (I am from Spain) and my embassy told me that I have to buy the ticket and then they will refund it... But i think that they don´t have much information...

About the other questions, no idea... Sorry!

The deadline for accepting this years scholarship is over. Now we are expecting emails with further instructions.

@O.michael ... yes there are undergraduate scholarships too ... visit http://www.turkiyeburslari.org/en/ for information ... the next round of scholarships will be next year ... keep visiting this website next year around March / April time and you will come to know the application procedures ...

Scholarship is given every single month whether you are in the country or not, so far you are a registered student in the schools there. Even during summer holidays, you get paid your full dues. You need not worry about things like this. If you do not live in a dormitory, you are on your own. So far, that has been the rule. I hear rumors that this is subject to change for masters and PhD students, but I do not know if it is true. Like I said...rumours. Finally, you really need to go through all my old posts to get any information you need because I have talked about this same thing over and over again. This is the reason I never reply private messages so that people can stop asking the same questions over and instead read about it from other people's posted questions. It really is not easy for me to keep repeating the same information. Thanks.

- Scholarship is given for 9 months in a year only?

- If a student does not live in dormitory, does he get some money ?

just to update everyone here..i managed to talk to YTB ( the ministry that deals with scholarships), regarding the issue of compulsory 01 year Turkish Language training..they replied that the information sent to local embassies is the final decision..and my local embassy says that language training is compulsory, so thats the final word..

I would appreciate if some one can send me a link stating that Turkish Language course is compulsory for all scholarship holders ... thx ...

there has been no Visa fee for scholarship holders in the previous years ... however, in the emails received this year, it was specifically mentioned that Visa fee is required at the time of applying Visa ... but my local Embassy has told me not to pay the fee, till the make a final clarification with the Ministry ...

Except the rules have changed this year, It is a must for all who accept the scholarship. No exceptions whosoever. I do not know the website link for that though, sorry.

I have recently received the Turkish Govt scholarship for PhD at Istanbul University (Dept of Electrical and Electronics Engineering). But their website does not have enough information, so I would be obliged if some one can give me the foll info:-

- Where is the Dept of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Istanbul University located in Istanbul ?
- If some one does not stay in University accomodation, how much money is given for rent ? (I have a family, so I will not be staying in dormitories)
- You mentioned that transportation in Istanbul is free for scholarship students. How to avail this facility ?
- I have been asked to apply for Student Visa by 21 Sept 2012. Then I have to attend Turkish Language course. But I dont know when the session will start ?
- Any one studying at Istanbul University on this forum ?
