Crime / Re: Many Feared Killed In Fresh Kaduna Village Attack - Channels Television by Amenphx: 11:07pm On Dec 26, 2016 |
danmasani101: Many persons are said to have been killed on Saturday when heavily armed men attacked Goska Kanikon village in Jemaa Local Government area of Kaduna State.
The latest attack is coming barely four days after indigenes of southern Kaduna staged a protest in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jemaa Local Government Area against the continous killing of their people by suspected herdsmen.
An indigene of the area who witnessed the incident Saturday evening, told Channels Television that the heavily armed gunmen invaded the village at about 6:000 p.m. local time, opened fire on the residents and also set houses ablaze. He further said that ‘many villagers have fled from their homes to neighbouring communities’ while there is no presence of security operatives in the area.
The attack is happening on a day that both the General Officer Commanding One Division of the Nigerian Army and the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police visited Kafanchan to assess the progress of troop operations in Southern part of Kaduna State where most of the attacks occurred. Goska Kanikon community is about eight kilometres from Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jemma Local Government Area.
In the meantime, spokesman for the Kaduna police command, Usman Aliyu, said that he was not aware of the fresh attack, but promised to confirm and give further information about the incident. This is very bad, what are our Christian brothers in the government doing! Are they waiting until fulani and muslim finish christian in Kaduna before they will act? https://www.channelstv.com/2016/12/24/many-feared-killed-in-fresh-kaduna-village-attack/ |

Literature / Re: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Lashes Out At Donald Trump And Americans In Her Article by Amenphx: 8:06am On Dec 10, 2016 |
Adichie if I may ask what does Obama your soo called black do for the development and well being of Nigeria (the most populous black nation on earth) and our Politics?. Divepen1: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie On December 2 The NewYorker published an article by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie , the Author of three Novels, which intricately requests that people should open their eyes to racism and feminism. She expressed her anger at the way the Americans treated Obama during his time as the President. Below is the full article. NOW IS THE TIME TO TALK ABOUT WHAT WE ARE ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT "America has always been aspirational to me. Even when I chafed at its hypocrisies, it somehow always seemed sure, a nation that knew what it was doing, refreshingly free of that anything-can-happen existential uncertainty so familiar to developing nations. But no longer. The election of Donald Trump has flattened the poetry in America’s founding philosophy: the country born from an idea of freedom is to be governed by an unstable, stubbornly uninformed, authoritarian demagogue. And in response to this there are people living in visceral fear, people anxiously trying to discern policy from bluster, and people kowtowing as though to a new king. Things that were recently pushed to the corners of America’s political space—overt racism, glaring misogyny, anti-intellectualism—are once again creeping to the center. Now is the time to resist the slightest extension in the boundaries of what is right and just. Now is the time to speak up and to wear as a badge of honor the opprobrium of bigots. Now is the time to confront the weak core at the heart of America’s addiction to optimism; it allows too little room for resilience, and too much for fragility. Hazy visions of “healing” and “not becoming the hate we hate” sound dangerously like appeasement. The responsibility to forge unity belongs not to the denigrated but to the denigrators. The premise for empathy has to be equal humanity; it is an injustice to demand that the maligned identify with those who question their humanity. America loves winners, but victory does not absolve. Victory, especially a slender one decided by a few thousand votes in a handful of states, does not guarantee respect. Nobody automatically deserves deference on ascending to the leadership of any country. American journalists know this only too well when reporting on foreign leaders—their default mode with Africans, for instance, is nearly always barely concealed disdain. President Obama endured disrespect from all quarters. By far the most egregious insult directed toward him, the racist movement tamely termed “birtherism,” was championed by Trump. Yet, a day after the election, I heard a journalist on the radio speak of the vitriol between Obama and Trump. No, the vitriol was Trump’s. Now is the time to burn false equivalencies forever. Pretending that both sides of an issue are equal when they are not is not “balanced” journalism; it is a fairy tale—and, unlike most fairy tales, a disingenuous one. Now is the time to refuse the blurring of memory. Each mention of “gridlock” under Obama must be wrought in truth: that “gridlock” was a deliberate and systematic refusal of the Republican Congress to work with him. Now is the time to call things what they actually are, because language can illuminate truth as much as it can obfuscate it. Now is the time to forge new words. “Alt-right” is benign. “White-supremacist right” is more accurate. Now is the time to talk about what we are actually talking about. “Climate contrarian” obfuscates. “Climate-change denier” does not. And because climate change is scientific fact, not opinion, this matters. Now is the time to discard that carefulness that too closely resembles a lack of conviction. The election is not a “simple racism story,” because no racism story is ever a “simple” racism story, in which grinning evil people wearing white burn crosses in yards. A racism story is complicated, but it is still a racism story, and it is worth parsing. Now is not the time to tiptoe around historical references. Recalling Nazism is not extreme; it is the astute response of those who know that history gives both context and warning. Now is the time to recalibrate the default assumptions of American political discourse. Identity politics is not the sole preserve of minority voters. This election is a reminder that identity politics in America is a white invention: it was the basis of segregation. The denial of civil rights to black Americans had at its core the idea that a black American should not be allowed to vote because that black American was not white. The endless questioning, before the election of Obama, about America’s “readiness” for a black President was a reaction to white identity politics. Yet “identity politics” has come to be associated with minorities, and often with a patronizing undercurrent, as though to refer to nonwhite people motivated by an irrational herd instinct. White Americans have practiced identity politics since the inception of America, but it is now laid bare, impossible to evade. Now is the time for the media, on the left and right, to educate and inform. To be nimble and alert, clear-eyed and skeptical, active rather than reactive. To make clear choices about what truly matters. Now is the time to put the idea of the “liberal bubble” to rest. The reality of American tribalism is that different groups all live in bubbles. Now is the time to acknowledge the ways in which Democrats have condescended to the white working class—and to acknowledge that Trump condescends to it by selling it fantasies. Now is the time to remember that there are working-class Americans who are not white and who have suffered the same deprivations and are equally worthy of news profiles. Now is the time to remember that “women” does not equal white women. “Women” must mean all women. Now is the time to elevate the art of questioning. Is the only valid resentment in America that of white males? If we are to be sympathetic to the idea that economic anxieties lead to questionable decisions, does this apply to all groups? Who exactly are the élite? Now is the time to frame the questions differently. If everything remained the same, and Hillary Clinton were a man, would she still engender an overheated, outsized hostility? Would a woman who behaved exactly like Trump be elected? Now is the time to stop suggesting that sexism was absent in the election because white women did not overwhelmingly vote for Clinton. Misogyny is not the sole preserve of men. The case for women is not that they are inherently better or more moral. It is that they are half of humanity and should have the same opportunities—and be judged according to the same standards—as the other half. Clinton was expected to be perfect, according to contradictory standards, in an election that became a referendum on her likability. Now is the time to ask why America is far behind many other countries (see: Rwanda) in its representation of women in politics. Now is the time to explore mainstream attitudes toward women’s ambition, to ponder to what extent the ordinary political calculations that all politicians make translate as moral failures when we see them in women. Clinton’s careful calibration was read as deviousness. But would a male politician who is carefully calibrated—Mitt Romney, for example—merely read as carefully calibrated? Now is the time to be precise about the meanings of words. Trump saying “They let you do it” about assaulting women does not imply consent, because consent is what happens before an act. Now is the time to remember that, in a wave of dark populism sweeping the West, there are alternative forms. Bernie Sanders’s message did not scapegoat the vulnerable. Obama rode a populist wave before his first election, one marked by a remarkable inclusiveness. Now is the time to counter lies with facts, repeatedly and unflaggingly, while also proclaiming the greater truths: of our equal humanity, of decency, of compassion. Every precious ideal must be reiterated, every obvious argument made, because an ugly idea left unchallenged begins to turn the color of normal. It does not have to be like this.
What do you think.

I don't believe what am hearing!!!, what's this country turning into? robosky02: Authorities plan to ban several Super Falcons stars and some of the coaches could lose their jobs as fallout from the standoff over unpaid entitlements.
Falcons striker Francisca Ordega will among the stars to be axed after she said she regrets playing for the country.
The USA-based star was later blasted by NFF president Amaju Pinnick for her comments.
“I can categorically state here that the name Ordega will never be heard or seen in a Super Falcons team list again. This I was told by another top official of the football house,” a source informed.
“No less than 10 of these players could be banned for life for ridiculing their fatherland before the international media and henceforth, the NFF may draw up a code of conduct to guide against future occurrences.”
“The coaches and officials are not left out as they could lose their jobs for not standing firm in support of the federation when it matters most.”
Nigerian sports minister Solomon Dalung visited the team Thursday and pleaded with them for understanding before their outstanding allowances and bonuses.
But the girls have dug in, insisting they will only quit their hotel when they get their monies.

Romance / Re: The Day I Almost Died After Checking My Girlfriend's Phone by Amenphx: 10:59pm On Dec 01, 2016 |
deturla: After my crazy Prostitute experience and post, a friend and a reader of my blog decided to share his crazy story with me! Lalasticlala, please help review in case it is front page worthy.
Mind you, this is a true life story!
Are you with me? Sit tight!
=================================================================================
Back in the days, I used to ask myself. Why do I always feel this evil urge to snoop on my partner’s phone? Well, this story I am about to share will tell you why it is never ever good to want to check your partner’s phone and how what I saw almost gave me a heart attack.
The reasons for me wanting to spy on my partner are not far-fetched. They are the backdrop of these two probing questions.
1. Why was she always laughing heartily when chatting?
2. Why was she uncomfortable when I tried to touch her phone?
I learnt my lesson the bitter way during my NYSC days and trust me I would never try it again.
I was posted to a school in a village somewhere in the Southwest as a teacher, and I decided to settle in after trying countless times to redeploy to PortHarcourt to no avail.
On my way to report at my place of primary assignment (PPA) as ‘they’ call it, I met two other female Corp members in the bus headed same way.
Ada and Cynthia (not real names) were very beautiful girls, but based on my ‘convo’ with the two of them, Ada seemed more exposed and mature than Cynthia.
I therefore resorted to choosing Cynthia as my target for NYSC relationship since she appeared the easier ‘catch’ based on my analysis. After all, NYSC is National year of Sex and Cohabitation.
After settling down in Corpers’ lodge provided by the school, I tried my best to get close to Cynthia but she always seemed not to be interested in me. I got my lucky break a month later when both Cynthia and Ada had a serious misunderstanding.
We became close and I told her my intentions.
Cynthia ‘claimed’ to be a church worker/evangelist in nearby Lagos and continued with her church activities in school and the village. I once saw Cynthia counselling female students on premarital sex and keeping boyfriends at such age.
Cynthia refused my sexual advances due to her ‘seeming’ religious beliefs, although she was not a virgin. She claimed to be born again and in my mind I was like
E be like say I don find wife oh!
Cynthia would tell me stories about the numerous guys toasting and disturbing her and the fool that I was, we would laugh over it, not knowing ‘she and I were both laughing at my foolishness’
As Konji was taking a hold of me, I began to look for alternatives, but the fear of Cynthia made most of my targets say No.
Thinking to myself, I would say:
Nawa o, babe dey help chop my 19,800 allawi plus 25000 my uncle sends me and yet no show.
Cynthia would travel down to Lagos every two weeks for church activities, and share me stories of the crusade service and I would say to myself,
This geh really loves me sha, well, I love her too.
Cynthia usually makes use of my Laptop to chat on Facebook. There was this particular occasion when one of her so called toasters once sent her a nude pic, and she screamed to me;
‘Boo, can you see this arrant nonsense’?
Such a wonderful and faithful girlfriend! I would say!
Our corper love wantintin continued until one Friday, I was alone and bored in the lodge, just staring at the ceiling doing nothing.
Cynthia had gone to Lagos as usual for her crusades and other corp members had gone for celebration at a nearby village. I brought out my laptop, connected my modem and began to surf the internet.
After surfing for about an hour, I decided to check Facebook.
As I opened the Facebook page, Cynthia’s ID stared at me in the face.
I remembered it was her account that was last logged in. At that moment, the evil thought of checking her Facebook chats occurred to me.
You know, when you use another person’s device to log into your Facebook account, you will untick the remember me text box so that no one will be able to check your account when you are gone.
I was in this process trying to figure out what her password would be when I remembered that earlier that week I had helped Cynthia register for a job advert using a username and password she wrote at the back of my Jotter.
I quickly searched for that jotter, found it and tried the same password and Hooray! I was in her account.
I began to check her chats with her so called toasters/disturbers.
In her chat with Felix (not real name), he was making some crazy sexual requests (that blew my brains out), which my born again Cynthia obliged.
They chatted about their last escapade how he enjoyed her so much.
You need to see as drops upon drops of sweat cascaded down my face as if I just finished having my bath without drying the water off my body!
Wallahi, that water could fill a glass cup of drink. It was crazy, I was shocked!
So the so called church programs she went for was all a lie, I opened my mouth in disbelief.
I found two other chats with some other guys she was sleeping with.
Have you ever felt heartbroken before? The beats of your heart? Like you wanted to floor to open and swallow you up?
Mine was more. I was perspiring, heavy breaths oh! It wasn’t a small something.
I could not eat for 2 days till I fell ill. I practically kicked myself so hard. I was so naive and stupid.
I felt like I wanted to die!
I learnt my lesson that day, Never ever snoop on your partner because what you may find can lead to heart attack.
Biko, if you know you cannot deal with the worst! Don’t ever snoop on your partner’s phone oh!
You want to know what I did to Cynthia when she returned?
Hehe! Funny readers, I’d leave that for another day! Abeg! I cannot share it here, maybe when you come check Deedeesblog, I can decide to share! LOL!
I am very sure a lot of you guys can relate to this! Have you ever snooped on your partner’s chats before? Did you see the unbelievable, as for me, na only God go allow me trust woman again as I almost had a heart attack.
Feel free to share your experiences!
