SOWORE COULD HAVE BEEN TURNED TO GOAT FOR DESECRATION OF OONI'S STATUS

Let me explain the scenario to you. Sowore had an appointment with Ooni, Somehow they were delayed for 3 hours has been speculated. When Ooni was entering the town hall finally to meet him he decided not to prostrate to Ooni all in a protest that he was delayed. He now finally nailed his contempt by finally saying it to Ooni in the face that he didn't prostrate. and I think that was what triggers the tear Gas, As for the person who sprayed it. I don't know if it Ooni Guards.

Honestly, if it was in then days the Ooni palace I knew.. They would have turned him to goat or hurt him forever. He is really lucky where are in the digital age.

Sowore really shot himself in the leg with this arrogance. As much as we think everybody should be accountable for their actions, there are some exceptional cases. In my opinion, I don’t think Ooni had kept him waiting because he wanted to keep him for just no reason. Do u understand Yoruba culture Ooni is not just a king, but the custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition. He is not like any of these Kings like Akinolu of Lagos, Agege King, or Oluwo of Iwo.

He’s not any of these kings that wakes and just come into the palace. if you think because he’s a Christian, he’s not getting divination daily from his Ifa priests? Think about this. All through the period Wuraola was married to him, did you see just a strand of her hair out? Why was she always covering her hair unlike other Queens married to other Yoruba kings. This should tell you there is more to this throne than what we know. Please note that everything must be in place before OONI step out of his abode.

In my own opinion, Sowore is better being an activist than a leader. no matter how we might gang up and uproot this useless leader who has wreck Nigeria to this point that we need to dislodge them , we would still need our kings and queen support. no one can win the heart of people by fighting or disrespecting their king at-least not in Yoruba land I know and even in some other country that I have been too.

I think education should come with common sense. Sowore lacks in this case for not putting any of these above into consideration before acting like that.

Highlights Of President Buhari’s 6-Day Official Visit To China

While in the People’s Republic of China, President Muhammadu Buhari participated in the 7th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) between September 3 – 4 2018 in Beijing, China. The President led Nigeria’s delegation in bilateral meetings with President Xi Jinping, as well as in business engagements with the Chinese private sector.

President Buhari was accompanied to China by Ministers of Finance Kemi Adeosun; Transportation Rotimi Amaechi; Power, Works & Housing Babatunde Fashola; Budget & National Planning Udom Udo Udoma; Petroleum Ibe Kachukwu; Industry, Trade & Investment Okechukwu Enelamah; and Minister of State, Aviation Hadi Sirika.

During the Bilateral Meeting led by Presidents Buhari and Xi, two important Agreements were signed:
1. MOU for the ‘One Belt One Road’ Initiative (OBOR).
2. $328m financing agreement for the National Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure Backbone.

At that meeting, Nigeria received the blessings of the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, for the construction of the Mambilla Project, Nigeria’s largest hydroelectric power plant. Work on the power project will commence on the site in early 2019.

During the President’s visit to China, the Nigerian delegation signed a total of thirteen agreements, valued at more than US$10bn, with more to be signed subsequently by the Nigeria Investment Promotion Council (NIPC) and the Attorney-General & Minister of Justice of the Federation.

The Agreements were signed between the Nigerian Government and Chinese businesses, and between Nigerian businesses and their Chinese counterparts.

Politics / Re: Buhari’s Government Is Failing To Secure Favourable Trade Deals For Nigeria- AAC by Arkayn: 7:06pm On Sep 03, 2018
sowore2019:
On March 29th, 2018 the TakeItBack Movement called the Buhari government to task for its shambolic approach to the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. Nigeria failed to sign that agreement largely because the business sector, which had not been included in the negotiations, pushed back against the Buhari administration. It was a failure not to have included the business community in those critical and complex discussions from the start.

Recent events continue to raise our concerns that this government is not only lifeless, but it is also clueless and ill prepared to provide the dynamic and transformative leadership that Nigeria needs. The short sightedness of this administration is costing Nigeria greatly. We are gravely concerned that the Buhari government is still not alive to its responsibilities on the trade negotiation and economic front. We will outline two key areas of concern.

CONCERN 1: GROSS NEGLIGENCE IN PREPARING FOR THE FORUM ON CHINA-AFRICA COOPERATION

Over the past decade, China has aggressively courted trade and investment partnerships with African nations. China’s strategic motives have been both economic and geopolitical. African nations must be alive to the reality that China is approaching Africa with a clear end goal in mind - the emergence of China as a global and military superpower. In dealing with China, African nations must therefore be clear headed about how their nations benefit from any bilateral or multilateral agreements with China.

President Buhari is attending the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation holding between September 3 and 4 with a delegation of government officials and no business delegates. While countries like South Africa, Rwanda, Cameroon and Ghana are attending the summit with high powered delegations comprising of the leaders of the major business organisations and economic sectors in their nations, Nigeria’s official delegation comprises of 9 ministers, 4 governors and 4 senators.

South Africa’s preparation for the summit is a study in contrasts. Several preparatory meetings were held prior to the departure for Beijing to harmonise the positions of the government and business sectors, and to set a target level of investment outcomes from the summit. The South African delegation includes industry captains from various sectors including media, mining, technology and agro-processing. A target of $ 7 Billion of investments was set as the desired outcomes for trade agreements that would emerge from the trip.

We are unaware of any similar preparations by the Nigerian delegation. The only investment targets announced by the Nigerian government is the planned signing of an agreement on the $328m loan facility provided by the Chinese EXIM Bank, for the National Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure Backbone Phase 2 project being undertaken by Galaxy Backbone Limited and Huawei Technologies Limited.

CONCERN 2: BUHARI’S GOVERNMENT IS FAILING TO RECOGNISE THAT THE WORLD ORDER IS SHIFTING

In 2018 alone, leaders of Europe’s largest economies (France, Germany and Great Britain) have all visited Nigeria. The Presidency boasted over the weekend that the high level of interest in Nigeria is because of world leaders respect President Buhari. It is extreme naïveté to believe that leaders like Macron, Merkel and Theresa May are coming to Nigeria because they are in search of new chat friends.

Given America’s more insular trade policies, China’s economic ascendancy and the fracturing of the European Union by Brexit, a major realignment in economic and geopolitical alignments is taking place.

What Buhari and his cabinet imagine to be social visits are highly strategic manoeuvrings by these global superpowers. Nigeria is at risk of becoming a pawn in a complex game of chess.

The economic and policy team of the TakeItBack Movement is concerned that while other countries are playing 3-dimensional chess, the Nigerian government is playing a simplistic game of roadside draughts.

SOUNDING THE ALARM - NIGERIA MUST BE VIGILANT

We are sounding the alarm so that the Buhari government can awaken to its responsibilities. As world leaders continue to troop into Africa in general and Nigeria in particular in various bids to establish bilateral trade agreements and create deals that are beneficial for their countries, a clear headed strategy for maximising the benefits of these new alignments for Nigeria must be pursued.

Again - we sound the alarm that in two short months, Nigeria has been visited by three of Europe’s largest economies – Macron ((July), Theresa May (August) and Angela Merkel (August). That the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, should try to spin this, as Buhari gaining favour with the Western world as opposed to what it actually is – world leaders jostling to make the most of the Nigerian pie as quickly and as totally as they can – is worrying and points to this Movement’s greatest fear: that Nigeria will be mortgaged off wholesale in deals that further bind us in shackles of debt, deprivation and dependence.

Theresa May’s entourage leaves no discerning mind in any doubt as to what she was in Nigeria to discuss. A delegation of 29 business leaders to promote "the breadth and depth of British expertise in technology, infrastructure, and financial and professional services” followed the prime minister. Britain’s goal is clearly to seek new pastures and more amenable deals as Brexit looms ahead of the United Kingdom.

The head of the German economic powerhouse, Angela Merkel, made it abundantly clear that her main goals for visiting Nigeria are to discuss and sign MoUs on security and economic deals as her entourage chiefly comprises the German business delegation.

Again, we reiterate that the strategic choice of delegates on these crucial trips sits in stark contrast to President Buhari’s trip to the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) - as he is accompanied only by governors, senators and ministers with little or no experience in the kind of business and economic policies and processes that will be discussed at a commercial and economic summit.

While all of these governments are rushing to cash in on the clueless Buhari government, we wish to warn them that in 6 months, Nigerians will go to the polls to elect a new government. A government led by our leader, Omoyele Sowore under the banner of the African Action Congress (AAC) will vigorously reassess all agreements entered into by the Buhari government. Any and all agreements that mortgage Nigeria’s future and exploits our people and/or resources will not be honoured.

Take It Back Movement is immovable in its belief that Nigerians will no longer be sold for a few bright trinkets. We will only agree to and abide by agreements that further the nation and our cause as the Giant of Africa.

In a few short months, Nigeria will begin the long road to recovery; a new world where we reclaim our rights, our resources, and our prominence. Buhari’s government would do well to leave the serious business of economic trade deals to incoming astute leaders who will approach negotiation tables with more than blank expressions and even emptier minds.

Nigeria MUST progress!

Politics / Re: Nigeria Becoming Tourist Destination Due To Policies Of Buhari Govt - Lai Mohd by Arkayn: 3:05pm On Aug 31, 2018
Trackrec:
Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, says the country is fast becoming a destination for tourists because of the favourable policies of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

In a statement, Segun Adeyemi, media aide to the minister, quoted Mohammed as saying this when he received the organisers and contestants of Miss Polo International Beauty Pageant at his office in Abuja on Monday.

The minister said apart from ensuring the security of lives and properties, the federal government is also working to provide infrastructure such as power, roads, and rail.

“There is no doubt that Nigeria is fast becoming a destination of choice for international tourists, thanks to the country’s hospitable people, the country’s increasingly-high rating in the international community and the successes achieved by the present administration in ensuring the security of lives and property, as well as providing infrastructure such as power, roads, and rail,” the statement read.

“The administration’s visa on arrival policy is also helping in making Nigeria a destination of choice for tourists and business people in general.

“The federal government will continue to pursue those policies that are fast turning Nigeria into a destination of choice; enhancing security, building infrastructure, implementing the tourism master-plan, and strengthening the visa on arrival policy.”

He said the surprise visit by France President Emmanuel Macron to the African Shine in Lagos also indicated that Nigeria is now set to receive global tourists.

On her part, Ibife Alufohai, president of the Miss Polo International Beauty Pageant, said the pageant is not just about beauty alone but an avenue to recognise excellence in creativity.

Politics / Re: What Nigerians Think About Saraki Joining Presidential Race by Arkayn: 4:39pm On Aug 25, 2018
AnonPoet:
There has been a lot of drama around Senate President Bukola Saraki. He recently decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) amidst controversy and announced interest to contest for presidency. Daily Trust sought the opinions of some Nigerians on his presidential ambition

Comrade Seiyefa Uzaka, Journalist, Bayelsa

Senate President Bokula Saraki is qualified to contest for the office of the president of Nigeria. He is a Nigerian citizen and nothing should hold him back. The decision to elect him rests on the people of Nigeria, and in the Nigerian constitution, the educational qualification for someone to contest for the office of the president is just the Senior Secondary School Certificate. So, for someone who is a medical doctor, which means that he is a degree holder, he is qualified to run for the office of president. If God wants him to be there, he will win and if God says no, he will not win.

Dr. Obuma Paul, Politician, Bayelsa
Bukula Saraki has been a leader in the senate and has done well, so Nigerians cannot rule out the fact that he can do well if he becomes the president. It is a good idea for him to aspire to rule this great country. It is a welcome development. I see him as a good material. If he comes on board, the difference will be clear, because for the period he has been president of the senate, he has done well. I think he is a principled man and will make a good president.

Abubakar Abba, 42, Communicator, Kaduna.
Saraki is just a joker, because many people in this country, especially the masses, even those in the village, know that he has been using his position as Senate President to cause confusion in the affairs of the executive arm. An example is the issue of delay in passing previous budgets, including his role in the delay of INEC funds for 2019 general elections. Many people in the northern part of the country will not vote for him.

Frank Olotu, 34, Politician, Bayelsa
Senate President Bokula Saraki is a good leader. He did well as a governor and he is doing well as a senate president. So, I see him as a very credible leader that can contest the 2019 presidential election. He is better than many leaders and presidents who have led this country, so he has the right to offer himself for the highest office if he becomes the flag bearer of the PDP. He will challenge the ruling APC and wrestle power from them during next year’s election. Besides, he is a young man who can work to put the economy of the country on a fast-growing track. He has the capacity to bring back the lost glory of our nation and handle the security challenges.

Muhammad Bin Ibrahim, 44, Journalist, Kaduna.
For me, Saraki is a victim of democracy. So, for that sole reason, and considering his competence to lead the senate harmoniously, he deserves to try his luck in the presidential race. This is why I support his move to run for president.

Eunice Nnachi, Journalist, Bayelsa
Dr. Bokula Saraki is a good leader. He will do well if given the opportunity to lead the country. He is a man of his words and in terms of academic exposure, he is a medical doctor who knows what Nigerians want. He is also smart and intelligent. That is what Nigerians want at the moment. He knows how to turn things around and has been able to hold the National Assembly together these past years, despite the storm. Such a person, when given the opportunity, will lead the country well.
In addition, if you look at his pattern, he always works for the good of the country. In 2014 for example, when the nation was facing challenges, he left his former party then and joined forces with APC that eventually brought onboard President Muhammadu Buhari. Now that he sees APC is not helping the economy of the nation, he has taken the destiny of the nation upon himself and pulled out again from APC to effect change for economic progress. So, I think he needs the support of Nigerians.

Tida Leo, 28, Development Worker, Kaduna
For me, Bukola Saraki is first of all a Nigerian who is eligible and fit to throw his hat in the ring for the presidency having served in the Senate despite all the court charges. He is also learned and very conversant with the Nigerian Constitution. And since he is now riding on the crest of his freedom from legal encumbrance, I support Bukola Saraki, knowing fully well that PDP has accepted him back and the race is for everyone. And at last, only one man will be president

TGM2015:

Sowore just like Ribadu has lost the once known glory. He has jettison the main reason I love him (investigative journalism) on the platter of going into politics. Premium Times has taken over the space. I cannot trust him to sustain the course of Nigeria against his self interest.

Do you know that the fall of Jonathan started because of his self interest to return for second term? He allowed Boko Haram to flourish because it will favour his reelection, allow corruption to strife because of the same reason, forced Sanusi out of office because of same reason (cashless policy), plunge this country into financial difficulties (recession) because of his reelection bid, compromised our national security because of same reason, we lost hundreds of thousand souls, indirectly, just because of the same reason...

I remember vividly my statement on the last election, I said if Jonathan wins... It shows that God is not a justice God and care less about the lost of innocent souls occasioned by Jonathan deliberate inactions.

Definitely, Sowore is out of equation because he has abandoned the good work I personally know him for, for politics.

What are you talking about? Please start making sense.
So is your alternative Buhari or Atiku? I guess you have not suffered enough. There is no choice in this election.
