Politics / Re: Obedient Group Rejects Peter Obi Choice For Edo Election, Drums For Ighodalo by AsgardKing: 5:17am On Sep 19
The reason why Asue will not win that election is because of Obaseki. The two are irreversibly the same as there is more sentimental connection of Asue to Obaseki than the campaign imtended to achieve. I pitied the PDP Campaign who at many times tried to distance themselves away from Obaseki but were forced back to adopt him and his political failures again out of no choice. The election is looking to me like a referendum on Obaseki, a phenomenon that the Asue campaign stray could not address. Tried as much to make him appear like a standalone candidate, the Campaign was on a journey to nowhere at all times it seemed.

Without a doubt, it does appear that the APC is poised to win the upcoming Edo State elections. It is left to be seen how the PDP which has consistently lost membership (up to yesterday) through this campaign period will recover. I think that the PDP played a counter productive game by labeling the Senator candidiate of the APC an illiterate. That, obviously spurred him to more work around local.communities. These trickles of support from fringe communities will more than likely be more effective to give him a win than this faction of Obidients tcoming up to support the PDP candidate.

Asue Ighodalo remains a good guy but the PDP but the unpopular and poor sense of politics of Obaseki will more than anything ruin his chances at victory. I think that Obaseki has made too many enemies for Asue to recover from. In 48 hours, we will likely see a revolt against Obaseki and the extremely poor people management style of his, which keeps people away from him.

Politics / Re: Edo Guber Election Is A Do-or-die Affair, Says Obaseki by AsgardKing: 5:34am On Sep 15
You know that to a carpenter, everything is a nail right? To some of your befuddled minds, it is always about money. You think that money solves issues, resolves issues and upturns issues. You lack the mental calibration to identify sentiments that are real. The gumption you carry is soaked in perhaps extreme depravity that life only has meaning with reference to Naria and Kobo only. I am hoping to know how much you were paid for this quantum of uncouthness.

Maybe then I can understand your brain microeconomics and how the blood running your system is only cash based.

Starberg:

How much were you paid for all this?

Asue Ighodalo is the unfortunate spin-off of a terrible sponsor. A man whom many have described as an Ingrate and one who lacks the capacity to hold friendshipsbshould jot be the one propping a fine gentleman like Asue. Asue Ighodalo's ambition has been sacrificed on nothing else than the puerile character of a man who is known as a serial betrayer. Asue Ighodalo should not have come under Obaseki. Obaseki is the taint, the curse to his beautiful dreams which he will likely kiss goodbye on Sunday the 22nd of September at about 5pm to 6pm. He will kook back and wonder so many things but by then, the man described as an illiterate would be crunching numbers which might be life defining for him as he becomes the next Chief Executive of Edo State.

It is clear from the body language of Obaseki that if he could, he'd also betray Asue Ighodalo for safe landing. He knows on the inside of him the power that he is fighting. The friends who rose for him have since deserted him and he is left with no serious political heavyweight to do the work for him. Asue is left with nothing but some guy in America who on YouTube hits a wall and claims to be an independent APC but with only minus value for his campaign and another one on the UK clapping for him. It is amazing that Asue has to now rely on persons who are tucked outside Nigeria for anything serious about his campaign.

Senator Monday Okpebholo is perhaps the smartest politician amongst them all. A man who understood the task - stoop to conquer. A man who was trained to avoid the spotlight to avoid being drawn into a war where he would be shared up. A man wise enough to know not to appear on a certain Eranimigho show and who was only loud where it mattered - with the masses who would vote for him. While Asue is in Twitter running challenges, this local man stayed local, winning the hearts of the masses and quietly avoiding the arrogance of 21st century social media blitz and shiny posturing. He connected with the people while Asue connected with the educated.

Unfortunately for Asue, the people determine the winner of an election like the Givernorship election of Edo State, not the educated.

It is safe to say that Edo is on the way back to the APC. The handwriting is leaving the wall and becoming the reality of the polity as the days draw nearer.

Asue. Next time, avoid Obaseki. He plagued you.

I am struggling to understand what parallels exist with this Power Holding Company and the other Discos in terms of generation, distribution and transmission. Are they also revenue generating?

Did you just say educatially bankrupt?

Lol. Illiterates full everywhere o

Chinjo2:

This might sound funny but it is that bad.
How can a sitting Senator be so educatially bankrupt.
And to imagine that these are people making laws for this country beats my imagination.

Why don't you rest sir?

I read that.

Read this. "This is someone who has only been in government for a year and is already making significant contributions to his country."
Politics / Re: Emefiele: Court Orders Temporary Forfeiture Of $2.04m, Landed Properties, Shares by AsgardKing: 5:52am On Aug 16
An interim order precedes a final order of forfeiture. The court has given 14 days to whomever claims to be the owner to step forward. As is the practice, no one will. So here are my thoughts:

1. When looters loot our treasury, they do so aware of these possible fallouts and consequences. To mitigate that, they oversteal, so that when the law catches them, only a fraction of the loot is returned, and at worst a conviction which can be negotiated.

2. The unfound loot remains theirs to protect, own and pass to their children. So they basically just take the fall, but the loot is effectively now "generational" wealth. I think that the minimum penalty for large scale corruption in Nigeria now should be 40 years in jail.

Emefiele was a willing tool in the hands of powerful forces, he had no levels, no balls or any integrity. His missteps show that he was perhaps Nigeria's most mumu CBN Governor who must have converted the greed of the political class at his time to cash vending. He lacked character. He lacked capacity and he was a most unprofessional man.

Let it howeverr be known to Cardoso, that the same fate awaits him if he proceeds on this same path even though he does seem to be overwhelmed with economic recovery issues.

Emefiele is a case study of how to NOT be a great man.

Politics / Re: Anambra State LGA Elections: ANSIEC Fixes LG Elections For 28th September 2024 by AsgardKing: 5:51am On Aug 16
The first round of elections following the Supreme Court judgment will be like petrol used to wash a carburetor. We can't expect too much from this round, but the structural change over time will be good.

Can't the candidates at least have a record of legal action? It might take just one good case before a honest judge to resolve some hitherto unsolvable issues in Nigeria.

BluntCrazeMan:
Now that the Most of
the States in Nigeria are going to have their LG-Elections on the 28th of September 2024,, are there ways to have these elections tightly monitored.??

Especially to avoid rigging and manipulation of the results after the voting had been concluded.??

.............
((THE LG-ELECTIONS WON'T EMPLOY THE USE OF BVAS-MACHINES FOR ACCREDITATION..

THEY MIGHT NOT EVEN USE THE INEC’S REGISTER-OF-VOTERS TO DO ACCREDITATION..

IT IS GOING TO BE A VERY CRUDE FORM OF ELECTION WHERE “EVERYTHING GOES ”..))
