Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Please Help Review this Cover Letter by auntygee: 9:30am On Jun 07, 2013
ROSYL:
Kindly check the above corrections.Sorry I cldnt do more, I'm not feeling well.
YEvery cover letter you write should be customized for the job you are applying for, clear and concise, grammatically correct, and error-free. in other words, u cant use one cover letter for all your job applications.

Much as your corrections are appreciated, one of the cardinal rules is, the cover letter should be straight to the point. a lengthy letter is often not appreciated unless specifically requested for. What a cover letter does, is to inform the organization about who you are and why you are interested in them. You CV is where all the other details can be discussed. Make it simple, interesting and straight to the point, so that they are moved to want to know you more and this would enable them go through your CV. Saying every thing in a cover letter is a sign of desperation.
Food / Re: Tallest Cake In Africa By Tosan by auntygee: 2:48pm On May 17, 2013
theutopianex: its ugly!!! if you watch cake boss on TLC and food channel, youll undderstand, half of the cake is inedible! from what i can se 60percent of the cake i wood or whatever it is they used lmao... ihate the way we do things like this for world appreciation and we cant even come up with very creative ideas, i hate it!! it annoys me! what will all the master cake bakers all over the world say about us they are laughing right now!!

My dear, i completely agree with you. the separators make up 70% of the cake. This is not art, it is just baking cake, basic decorations and stacking them on big wooden separators. i would have appreciated it if he had done something unique. If you are a baker and a fan of TLC and Food network you will understand what we are taking about.

Romance / Re: Ladies, Can You Kneel Down For Your Husband Openly? by auntygee: 8:25pm On Jan 11, 2013
Kneeling for my hubby anywhere is no issue as long as it is required. His culture does not permit people to kneel but mine does and it carries heavy meanings of appreciation or respect. In public I have gone on my knees for elders too. It does not make me a slave or servant and besides its my choice. Why should I feel ashamed in front of my friends or worry about what people who don't know me think or say? What matters is the one I knee before understands that am telling the whole world I love, appreciate and respect you and I don't care if the world judge me for it.

SIR BANYE: Hmmm, pls pips send your Shiloh vows to that orphanage close to your house, or send it to that woman in the hospital that cant afford to pay her hospital bills, or send it to that suffering child that needs your support to undergo that surgery. Help your brothers and sister out from that bondage they find themselves. This year take your vows else where, affect a life positively, then come back next year to give your testimony.
HAVE YOU SENT YOURS?

This guy is simply unbelievable. After eight years his conclusion is he married out of pity so it was the woman's fault that she got pregnant? he should have just kept his big mouth shut after all nobody needed to know this. This so called celebrities think they have become superstars and so can do or say what they please. they have forgotten they are first and foremost Nigerians and in Nigeria what you say or do shows your level of home training.

Health / Re: NHIS Introduces Voluntary Health Insurance For Self Employed, Small Businesses by auntygee: 11:03am On Sep 24, 2012
Itohen: Self employed Nigerians and small business owners with less than ten staff can now access subsidized quality health care under the voluntary contributors social health insurance programme launched by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

At the media launch in Lagos at the weekend, the acting Executive Secretary, NHIS, Mr. Abdulrahman Sambo, said the scheme will commence in Lagos, but will eventually spread to other parts of the country.  He said Lagos was chosen for the commencement of the scheme because of its strategic importance in the economic life of Nigeria.

The voluntary contributors social health insurance programme (VCSHIP) is a prepayment arrangement where contributors would pay an annual premium of N15,000, adding that it will guarantee them access to health care in any NHIS registered hospital across Nigeria. According to Mr. Sambo, the scheme only covers the contributor without other beneficiaries ,but allows him or her access same quality health care with those under the regular health insurance scheme.

Those to benefit he said include artisans, entertainers, media professionals, students, retirees not covered by the NHIS programme, political office holders, foreigners and other informal sector players.  Sambo said to make the process easier, interested persons who wouldn’t want to visit NHIS offices for registration can purchase the voluntary contributors vouchers from the 11 participating health management organisations and register online.

He said NHIS is talking with five banks to be able to facilitate online payments.  “We are also partnering five banks to enable subscribers pay the N15,000 online to ease the transaction rather than buy a scratch card. We are targeting individuals who can afford to pay something so they can also benefit. We are also giving them the same benefits with what the Federal Government employees are getting – primary, secondary and tertiary health care.” he added.

He said the contribution is N15,000 per annum, and that it covers only the individual that contributed.
