Family / Re: What's The Cost Of Marriage Certificates And Courthouse Marriages In Nigeria by avobode(m): 6:25pm On Jun 16, 2012
Iam an American citizen trying to marry a Nigerian girl. The staff there had a list of requirements such as a letter of affidavit from my embassy. I went to my embassy and they are saying I don't need any such thing. Please advice.
Sports / Re: Why Can't We Have Decent Stadiums In Nigeria? by avobode(m): 10:09pm On Jun 14, 2012
We don't have a culture of maintenance or patriotism. There should be an outcry as to how the National stadium in Lagos has been allowed to rot and decay, but not much is said. I would think our leaders entrusted with the responsibility of contracting the building of our stadiums would want Nigeria to have the most beautiful structures, at least in Africa. But our bland secondary school stadiums pretty much summarize how little our leaders care about how we are perceived.

My advice, first find a need, then find out where that need can be found. Good hunting!
Family / Re: Spanking Can Lower You Child's Iq by avobode(m): 3:17pm On Sep 28, 2009
the problem here is do Nigerian parents know what "reasonable" spanking is?

there are lots of papa joes in Nigeria

Agreed, I just see too many parents (Nigerian and otherwise) scared off their kids. If the parents won't do it, guess what, the state will be happy to do it. Correctional facilities are waiting.
Family / Re: Spanking Can Lower You Child's Iq by avobode(m): 2:36pm On Sep 28, 2009
That's why parents are being run by their kids. Parents afraid to discipline their kids and these kids are pulling their strings. I will never tolerate a kid not showing their elders proper respect and behaving like they got some sense. Spanking, when used reasonably is an excellent way to let the kid know, what they did is unacceptable and should not be repeated, period.

He must be in an alternate reality. Somebody needs to slap him into reality. Nigeria is going backwards, fast.
Politics / Re: Ibb Calls For Decentralisation Of Power by avobode(m): 2:59am On Sep 25, 2009
After he has tasted the soup and fattened himself, he wants to decentralize power. How is Gani dead and this criminal is still alive? IBB has and always will be a manipulative criminal whose charms have continued to seduce Nigerians.
Sports / Re: Nigerians To Buy Newcastle United FC? by avobode(m): 2:37pm On Oct 09, 2008
Life Boy u are on point!

No offence, but this smells like money laundering for drug money or 419. If it's true, then why aren't they using this money to buy a Nigerian or African club and help develop Africa. Why are they trying to contribute to the economy of a nation that is better off than us?

Buy African Sports in Ivory Coast, 3sc in Nigeria, Esperence in Tunisia etc,  if we have some money, then help where you are from, no need giving the landlord more money.
Romance / Re: My Boyfriend Relies On Me For His Financial Needs by avobode(m): 9:21pm On Oct 06, 2008
Tough situation. I feel for you, but at the end of the day there is a reason you are still with him. Love, sex, something. My advice is see what you can do to help him get a job or go back to school. If he is still resistant to that, then it might be time to look yourself in the mirror and decide if he is worth it. You hold the power in this situation.

Music Business / Re: Own An Internet Radio Netcasting Station In Your Room by avobode(m): 9:05pm On Sep 02, 2008
Sounds like a great idea and I would be interested in some kind of cross promotion. I own a radio station called yapdemradio. We have very diverse programming concerned with the International Diaspora. Please check my website at www.yapdem360.com and follow the instructions to listen to the station.

For my naija people, I do a live radio show Saturdays between 6pm and 8pm EST. Check my website out for instructions, thanks.
