Business / Re: Can A Customer Sue Bank For Undeposited Money Lost During Bank Robbery? by aydotcome: 6:04pm On Jan 02, 2014
A bank is a public place just like any other public domains like eateries, supermarket, Airport, Cinemas etc..Though fortified with adequate security due to the sensitivity of their services..if robbery incidence happened in their premises, they aren't liable if your cash is yet to be acknowledged..Except if it was discovered that recommended security was not made available as recommended by regulatory authorities (NDIC,CBN) at the time of incidence..Hence, they could be liable for negligence on their part to ensure security cover.

My thought.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Third Class Candidates by aydotcome: 2:11pm On Dec 01, 2013
@rudedough

Have gone through most of your posts, and your definition of success prompt my attention."success
is whatever u term it to be".Being a third class grad does not mean the OP can not be successful in life.He might put in for another academic programme, and comes up with excellent result .Moreover, academic success does not guaranty overall success in life. You can have a good grade in school, and performed below expectation on the job.In theory, some dude are brilliant, in practice, they may be laggard.

Finally bro, Life may be likened to a race in nursery, that you are to complete 100m track with a spoon and egg in your hand.what's the point been there first, when you couldn't get to the finish line with the spoon and egg?.

In other words, your success in life will not be judge only by academic performance.
Just making an opinion, and no offence.
Regards.

You miss d point.Nobody is saying helping the masses isn't a good thing. The OP only highlighted places in Lagos that are habitable and comfortable for people to live based on some indices..You could have created a thread for charity if need be.Don't take issues personal..

Travel / Re: Aero Contractors Renamed Nigerian Eagle by aydotcome: 1:07pm On Nov 23, 2013
Why brand it Nigerian Eagle? Would have been better Aero Nigeria, if going by their majority stake in its acquisition, and if at all ......

Moreover, Majority of All the airline businesses branded Nigeria in the past ended up a failure.. lipsrsealed Nigeria Airways, Virgin Nigeria, Air Nigeria...and so on.The reasons not far fetched..Politics, ethnicity, Geopolitical/Federal character and so on will be used as a yard stick for recruitment and appointments, instead of competence and performance..The result will eventually be poor service failure, and collapse will be inevitable.

Just my view anyway.

Career / Re: Offer Letter In Jos Or Kadunna Confused by aydotcome: 4:54am On May 04, 2013
Well, have stayed in jos, and have also been to kaduna couple of times.Jos is a good place, especially if you want "a no huSsle life style"go to Jos .Kaduna has a prospect for business than jos, considering your job "as FMCG rep"based on demograhic index. As regards security, Absolute peace is a state of the mind.Even in time of war, some people still find peace. There are no places where there is/are no occurences, but it is your prayer and trust in God that will keep you through. While making claims of violence and clashes in north, People in the north could also be afraid of kidnappers and ritualist in the south.
Mind you, there was a time in Lag, when clashes broke out in Agege, idi-araba and shagamu with hausa's and the local community where they reside.Does it affect everybody/everywhere in lag? Do we consider Lag as a "no-go" because of these incidences? No!
So, crises will always happen, but our daily prayer is not to be caught-up in it.
As per the choice, I will go for Jos! Its a beautiful city.

Good initiative, but its a mis-placement of priorities. Moreover, how can FG celebrates our own dear country 100yrs anniversary with a private owned project? Every business man wants returns on investment, therefore such project shouldn't be seen as a national achievement.its an idea (project) cleverly crafted for profit.you need to also know that the beneficiary of such project are not ordinary nigerians, but people in power! They already have their share cuts in cash, land allocation, incentives or investments before its commencement.
There are trievial issues that needs urgent attention than such project. Our stability,Power, water are lacking in many towns, villages and cities, yet we want to put in place project that will be used to celebrate anniversary yet to come, in whose case our unity/integration as a nation still under question!
Misplacement of priorities!

Well, i am presently working in katsina state.Permit me to say that its one of the most peaceful states in the north.Though, i haven't been to their orientation camp, but serving in katsina state is not bad.Have lots of corper friends, (past and present) who served in the state, and could shared their experience(s) of their service year.

my 1 cent advice.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Help Needed, I Just Lost My Job Recently by aydotcome: 10:14pm On Feb 18, 2012
@op.Life is full of challenges and opportunities.Sometimes, what you think is a disaster might turn around to be opportunity in disguise.God works wonders! People have lost their job at one point or the other, but to see them in few years later employing PEOPLE! "It is up to us what we make out of the situation we find ourselves".People loose their job all across the globe, ,companies, banks, institutions are still downsizing and will continue, as the global economy still bite hard, ,but Life goes on.
My advice for you is to see opportunity out of the situation you find yourself and don't be entrenched in self pity! You can make it with what you have got.It is up to you! See u @ the top! May God help us all.
Cheers!
Politics / Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala: The Face Of Subsidy Removal? by aydotcome: 4:09pm On Jan 11, 2012
Its right time i make a contribution on nairaland. The fact remains our leadership is at its lowest ebb of governance since civil war.The spate of killing and attacks shows that our security is weak.Ordinary pressure from sectarian group from the north (boko haram) is threatening the stability of a nation (Nigeria)!.A spokesman of the group said that, "The group is stronger than Nigerian army"! what a shame! This got tell tell us that our leader (GEJ) is weak! The issue of BH is a fundamental issue (security) that need to be addressed, before the implementation of the removal of subsidy that was advised by his technocrats who doesn't know what Nigerians are passing through.
Must you listen to what everybody says? There are two people that fails in life. "Those that listen to everybody and those that listen to nobody".The fact that someone has a PhD in Economics and works in World bank does not guarantee a good economic policy. She is just a theoretician of world bank as far as am concerned. In Her economic policy on subsidy, she did not adequately analyzed the impact of the removal of the subsidy on the populace that they govern. The removal of fuel subsidy will results in increase in PMS cost resulting to high cost of transportation.A multiplying effect will be felt in other sectors including production and services,Thereby resulting into a higher cost of doing business. This will result in paying more to get less, thereby increasing the hardship for average Nigerians. With the level of unemployment in the country, who can stop robbery and other sort of social vices that will come as a result of this situation?  Anarchy looms!
The fundamental issue here is that Mr president is clueless, and i can bet you, he is afraid TO FACE OPPOSITION, unlike his predecessor Obasanjo.Imagine a president saying he doesn't have the heart of a lion.Infact, he takes more than a lion heart to lead this nation.Taking a oath of office to be the number one citizen of this nation, you are taking a responsibility to lead more than 150 million populace! It takes more than a lion heart to do that right! Our leaders do not see their position as service to the nation. They are suppose to serve us, but we are serving them! we elected them to manage our resources for the betterment of the nation, but they are using it for the betterment of themselves!
Jonathan has not shown any form of competence, not even an iota of it, that he can govern this nation. Not even once has he addressed the issue of corruption because it is not part of his agenda and he is afraid. We are leaving our destiny in the hand of a man who LUCK HAS BROUGHT HIM TO POWER.Luck might have brought you to power, but can not SUSTAIN YOU IN POWER.
What stops Mrs finance minister from advising Mr President  to cut down cost, and criticize excessive spending and looting in government just like OBJ and CBN   GOVERNOR has publicly done to NASS.And if it is not her suggestion has she claimed that the removal of subsidy was suggested by the governors, why can she advise otherwise as the minister of finance from world bank! An economist! Then, Whats the point having her on board? Its has good has having no finance minister because the situation is having no difference!
Its time we Nigerians need to get it right.Fight corruption, and elect capable leaders.
I stand to be constructively corrected if am wrong.Thank you.

why do "nairalanders" derive pleasure in using abusive language when debating/discussing on issues that requires intellectual contribution(s)?
lets make significant contribution(s) and stop the abuse/insults.it takes us nowhere.People in government are enjoying and having a good time, even when they have impacted pains on the masses, and we are here hitting each other hard.lets discuss and plan on the way forward, and back it up with actions!
