Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has withdrawn two nominees from the board of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other offences Commission (ICPC) for alleged corruption.

The two nominees Maimuna Aliyu and Sa’ad Alanamu are being investigated for N1billion fraud.

Lagos—From today, bus conductors in Lagos will start wearing uniform as part of efforts to promote the Smart City Initiatives, SCI, of the state government.

This was disclosed by the National President of the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria, BCAN, Comrade Israel Adeshola, in an interview with Vanguard.

According to him, the Lagos State government has approved the association’s uniforms and badges with name tag and identification numbers for easy identification of registered conductors.

He said the use of badges on uniforms is to address criminal tendencies by some bus conductors, calling on Lagosians to support the initiative.

According to him; ‘’The re-branding of bus conductors in the state which is in partnership with the Lagos State Government is a project that has been in the master plan of the state government in a way to stem criminal activities and also protect the lives and properties of Lagosians.


‘’The BCAN has been partnering with the state government through the ministry of transportation to train members of the association who are now registered by the government.’’

Adeshola, who said the conductor’s job was vital in the transportation sector, noted that the organization has embarked on sensitization and training of members since inception.

He also said that the objective is to make conductor’s job attractive, respected and dignified as obtainable globally.

Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiri Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebu Ode, has denied rumors of his death.

According to him, contrary to several reports by some online platforms on Monday night, he his hale and hearty. He spoke exclusively to PM News shortly after the news of his demise went viral.


He said: “Why are people spreading rumours about my death, when I am right here at Oriental.”

Also, Bayo Onanuga, the managing director of News Agency of Nigeria, who is a cousin to the monarch spoke to Premium Times, he confirmed the Awujale is still alive but had been to Lagos for medical treatment.

“It’s not true; he is alive and I spoke with him today. He is in Lagos and he is just laughing over the rumour.”

“We are from the same ruling house; I’m his cousin. That’s why we are close, not because of I’m a Journalist. Yes, the man is old, but he is fine.”

Following backlash from Nigerians after photos of President Buhari in a meeting with PDP governors surfaced online, Governor Fayose has finally spoken.

Recall, the Ekiti state governor in a statement released in June on Buhari’s health had claimed the president was on life support and his health had deteriorated.

He also threatened to release photos of Buhari in the UK. Meanwhile after some PDP governors were delegated to see the president in London and the pictures went viral, Fayose was dragged on twitter.

However, in a more recent interview, Governor Fayose maintained his initial claim, adding that Buhari had been on life support at some point. He said:

“What I said about the president is very clear. I said that the President at a point before these recent visits was incapacitated and has been on a life support. I stand by it. I stand by it. I have no regret for that statement.

“You would recall that I said the Handlers of the President should produce evidence to the contrary within 48 hours. After 4 weeks, they said they went to visit the president. Thank God the President is getting better now but there is no denying that what I said at the time was the truth.

“If you go by the statement of the governor of Ebonyi, he said the President’s recovery is a miracle, it is divine which means something had gone the other way round before becoming a miracle. I read in another piece that the President came up like Lazarus from the dead. Well, that is another person saying that.

“I stand by what I have said. Not in the wish that the President must die. Don’t forget, that the President owes it to us all to declare his state of health. The president’s life should be an open book that should be read by everybody.”

Six persons sustained serious injuries while ten others were burnt beyond recognition when a petrol tanker went up in flames in Felele area of Lokoja yesterday.

According to the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi State, Mr. Segun Martins, ‘most of the victims were passengers travelling in an 18-seater commercial bus’.

Also affected were one commercial tricycle operator, the driver and motor boy of the fuel tanker.
He said the death toll might rise as some of those who sustained injuries were in critical situation.

FRSC officials said the accident was due to a head-on collision between the bus, coming from Abuja and the tanker coming from the opposite direction.

They said that the impact of the collision ignited the fire which spread to other vehicles while the entire area was covered by smoke for many hours.

Men of the state Fire Service Department, who arrived the scene at about 2:20 pm, could not to really help due to lack of water in their vehicles.

The accident led to disruption in vehicular movement on the ever busy Okene -Lokoja -Abuja Road but FRSC officials, police and sympathizers were seen trying to open the road

“When you say a cheating spouse, I guess that’s someone who’s a repeat offender. If someone cheats once, should they forgive that kind of person, I would say, definitely yes, if they are remorseful and if they show signs of change.

Should someone forgive a repeatedly cheating spouse? Why are they cheating? I think the problem with us these days is we are very impatient. She was asked if there’s anything she can’t forgive and her reply was shocking, she said

“Everyone knows I can forgive anything if they tell me. Just make sure I know. If my husband does anything, I tell him to tell me. Once you tell me, I can get angry but you are sorted because I will defend you.

I may still be angry with you but I will defend you because you have told me. To me, honour is important. At that point, I feel honoured. That is how my own brain is wired.

If you are honourable enough to tell me I will respect you. It doesn’t mean that you and I are cool, but I will stand by you.

But if you don’t tell me and I find out or someone tells me, you have broken the honour chain and so for me, that might be unforgivable.”
Then the actress was asked the big question. she was asked if she can forgive her husband if he cheats, she said

“I will forgive him doesn’t mean I’m staying with him. They are two different things but that you tell me, is healing enough for me. It doesn’t mean that its right what you did, it doesn’t mean that I’m ok with what you did but I’m fine with the fact that you’re human, you messed up and you owned up to it. so, for me, that is the way my brain processes things.”
