A X user and also know as investigative journalist identified as Jackson Ude took to his social media handle as he revealed some levels of which Nigeria Politicians had looted some fund from Nigeria Government funds through foreign companies

He stated; While Nigerian politicians loot the country, rogue Indian companies operating in Nigeria are doing the same and getting away with it.

For over ten years, Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals/Fertilizer have been getting supplies of Nitrogen Gas worth 440k metric tons valued at over $308k per annum to Produce Fertilizers.

In ten years, Indorama has not paid a dime into the Federation account for the supplies. They have kept the over $3billion to themselves.

The same company gets 95k metric tons of Propylene Rich Feed, PRF, at $700/ton bringing the total value at $66.5million. And in ten years, they have pocketed and refused to remit over $665million to the Federal Government.

BREAKING: FG Through VREG Set To Stop Smuggling Of Vehicles in Nigeria

The Federal Government is set to end the smuggling of vehicles into the country, as it operationalises the National Vehicle Registry Policy, VREG.

VREG integrates vehicles’ data across several agencies, including the Nigeria Customs Service, Vehicles Inspection Offices, the Police National Central vehicles data and that of the Federal Road safety Corps’s data base.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, told participants at the VREG Zonal Sensitisation campaign in Abuja, yesterday, that the initiative would curb customs duty evasion by vehicles importers.

He said: “The Federal Ministry of Finance is saddled with the responsibility of managing the nation’s finances and revenue streams.

“In the midst of dwindling revenue orchestrated by falling oil prices and mono-economy further worsened by revenue leakages from unplugged loopholes such as customs duty payment evasion, it became imperative that government provided effective responses to these issues.

“Furthermore, the absence of a dynamic and centralised platform for national vehicular information, despite Nigeria being the largest importer of vehicles in Africa with an additional 15 million vehicles operational in the country.

“This huge vacuum had sustained the menaces of customs duty evasion, paucity of data for vehicular policy formulation, nationwide vehicle administration for revenue leakages, vehicle theft and vehicle-related crimes, challenges in road traffic regulation enforcement, limited access to credit facilities and ineffective vehicle insurance coverage and monitoring and evaluation.

“It is worthy to note that since the emergence of VREG in 2021, several benefits of the registry have been achieved amongst which include, utilisation as a tool to mitigate the evasion of customs duty administration.

JUST IN: Nigeria To Face Another Phase Of Naira Crisis As FG Reveal New Deadline For Old Note

The Federal Government has approached the Supreme Court seeking an extension of the validity of old naira notes beyond the current deadline of December 31, 2023.

In a fresh application filed before the Supreme court, the government cited the ongoing economic crisis and the need for further consultation with critical stakeholders as reasons for the extension request.

The government argued that the Supreme Court’s order of March 3, 2023, which extended the validity of old naira notes until December 31, was based on the assumption that sufficient new notes would be printed by the end of the year. However, due to the economic crisis, the government has been unable to print the required volume of new notes.

Politics / Killings In Jonathan’s Regime In Jaji Were Executed By Military Not Boko Haram – by AyoNews: 4:33pm On Oct 29, 2023
Killings In Jonathan’s Regime In Jaji Were Executed By Military Not Boko Haram – Sheikh Gumi Reveals

Controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has claimed that a hit squad was set up to kill him during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The cleric made the claim in a video sermon of over 14 minutes posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday.

Gumi said an operative of the Department of State Services (DSS) informed him of the plot to kill him for opposing and condemning the Jonathan government.

The cleric said the DSS operative was later arrested and detained for two months for leaking the plot, adding that the officer came to his house months later to explain all that transpired and how he survived.

Gumi also alleged that all the killings that happened during Jonathan’s tenure in Jaji, Kaduna State, were executed by the military and not Boko Haram.

He said: “Let me tell you what happened during President (Goodluck) Jonathan’s time. We went to a meeting one day at the DSS headquarters and met one operative who knew my police detail. One day he called us and gave us the number of a Mercedes 4matic. He said he was in the toilet and heard the arrangement of how a hit squad had been assembled to kill Sheikh Gumi.

“All the killings that happened during Jonathan’s time in Jaji were executed by the military and not Boko Haram. Now have you not known the real Boko Haram? Can Boko Haram plant a bomb in Jaji if not them? General Shuwa was killed despite having soldiers in his house. They went and killed him. They were angry because he fought the civil war. You gave them power and they killed your leaders.

“After the DSS operative leaked the plot to kill me, I quickly informed the police commissioner and also posted on Facebook. He then heard them saying the operation should be called off since it was leaked. They now said the person who leaked it was inside their office. He was arrested and detained for two months and survived by chance. He came to my house after two months and explained all that transpired and how he survived by the grace of God.

“One day during Ramadan fasting, I was working to use a projector, I now put the children in a car to proceed to the mosque before me. After the car left the house, we heard a bomb explosion. I asked that pictures of the scene should be taken.

“There was an attack by bees there, but two people were killed and they were in chains and had pistols, meaning if the bomb did not kill us, they would use the pistol to finish us. The third person coming from Ungwan Shanu was also killed by the bomb explosion.

“We then continued with our study. Three people were killed. If you remember that time, I thank Governor Ramalan Yero for not stopping the Ramadan study. When I returned home, the correspondents of BBC Hausa and Voice of America met me, saying they went to the scene to get stories and capture the real Boko Haram, but troops had sealed off the scene and forced them to delete the pictures they captured. They told me ‘We are trying to know Boko Haram and we have found Boko Haram in action and you are saying we should delete their pictures’.

It doesn’t matter whether the rogue Supreme Court in Nigeria has affirmed him. Tomorrow, October 30, 2023, the U.S Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and others would release a huge load of files on Bola Tinubu’s crimes in and outside of the United State.

The files would shut down the many lies Tinubu he has told, expose him more as a diehard criminal, a drug baron, a certificate forger and an identity thief.

The files would further expose Nigeria as a country lacking morals. A country where corruption has found a home. A country where citizens are blinded by tribe, ethnicity religion and corruption.

Tinubu Is Your President, You Must Recognize That – Keyamo Threaten Nigerians

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has given an overall view of the opposition parties regarding the outcome of the litigations on appeals challenging the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 election…Continue Reading

Keyamo, in a post via X, said some ‘set of people’ are with the assumption that all institutions of the state must accept their view before it is seen as credible, which is considered the classic predisposition of dictators and fascists.

The Minister stressed that the group of people have also moved to a virtual world, vowing never to acknowledge Tinubu as President; however, a similar scenario played out in America after the former United States President, Donald Trump, won the election in 2016.

Keyamo warned that those with the cliche ‘Tinubu is not my president’ would face the same institution they disparage any day they attempt to deny the authority of President Tinubu.

He said, “So, this is the overall view of what is happening: we have a set of people who believe in the absolute rightness of their own ideas; the infallibility of their own positions and the fact that ALL institutions of the State MUST accept their own views before these institutions can be seen as ‘credible’. In other words, they want to be the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary and even independent institutions like INEC – all in one! They brook no opposition to their set ways and views; they see themselves as God Himself that is immutable and does not change! That is the CLASSIC PREDISPOSITION of DICTATORS AND FASCISTS. Hence, the nation actually dodged a bullet in their case.

“Fellow Nigerians, these individuals are a small minority masquerading as speaking for the ‘majority’. They draw their oxygen from the attention the gullible ones give to them and the unending engagements they get from reasonable citizens who try to get them to see the other side of the coin. So, after the judgment by the Supreme Court, they say they have moved to a virtual world where they do not recognise our President. Fair enough. They will not be the first. When Donald Trump won, many Americans said they were living in a virtual world for 4 years.

Politics / Why The Silence And Seeming Contentment?,- Justice Dattijo Blasts CJN by AyoNews: 11:22am On Oct 28, 2023
Why The Silence And Seeming Contentment?,- Justice Dattijo Blasts CJN

Justice Musa Dattijo Muhammad, who recently retired from the Supreme Court after 40 years in the judiciary, has some serious allegations about the state of the Nigerian judiciary.

In a valedictory speech on Friday, Justice Dattijo accused the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) of abusing his power and deliberately excluding Igbo judges from the Supreme Court bench.

Justice Dattijo said that the CJN has absolute power over the National Judicial Council (NJC), the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC), the National Judicial Institute (NJI), and the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC).

This power, he said, allows the CJN to appoint judges and other judicial officials, as well as to control the judiciary’s budget.

Dattijo maintained that it is “dangerous” for democracy when the apex court is only composed of judges from South West, South-South, North West with none from the South-East.

Dattijo said now that he’s bowing out, the North-Central will now be left with no representation.

He accused the CJN of using this power to his advantage and the detriment of the judiciary.

According to him, Igbo judges were excluded from the Supreme Court bench even though the South-East region is entitled to seats on the bench.

Dattijo stressed that the absence of Igbo judges on the Supreme Court bench has undermined the representation of different ethnic groups in the judiciary and has weakened public confidence in the judiciary.

Our Mineral Sector Has Started Attracting International Interest– Dele Alake Discloses

In The News: Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake has revealed that Nigeria’s solid minerals sector has started attracting significant international interest as foreign investors showing a keen desire to key into the country’s mineral resources industry... Continue Reading

He also said that President Bola Tinubu had expressed his commitment to increase funding for the sector through the ministry.

The minister, who spoke at the close out session of the Nigeria Mining Week 2023 yesterday in Abuja, explained that the funding will facilitate the generation of essential big data to further provide both local and foreign investors with information to make decisions and judgments about areas of operation.

He stressed that lack of funding and data deficiency, among other challenges, were major stumbling blocks in the sector.

He said: “ On our part, I can assure you that the president has given his pledge to increase funding into this sector through the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.

“With such funding, we can then embark on those very significant steps that we need to take going forward, such as generating the big data, without which we cannot begin to talk about any serious implementation or execution of policies or attracting the much needed foreign investment.

“ So, moving forward, we are going to invest heavily in big data generation efficient data that would enable investors both local and foreign to make informed decisions and judgments for areas where they want to operate. To learn, let them know what is where and how.

Politics / Strike Updates: Aviation Unions Condemned NLC Warning Strike Ass NCAA Orders Wor by AyoNews: 9:53am On Sep 05, 2023
Strike Updates: Aviation Unions Condemned NLC Warning Strike Ass NCAA Orders Workers To Report To Work

Unions in the Nigerian aviation industry have opted out of the two-day warning strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over the removal of subsidy on fuel.

This is as the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed its member of staff to resume work as usual, saying that failure to comply with the directive would be taken as sabotage against the ongoing International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Universal Safety Oversight Programme (USOAP).

The unions under the NLC in the sector; the Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP), the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), and the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), said they won’t participate in the warning strike due to the ICAO audit, but insisted that they never attempted to sabotage NLC.

Comrade Abdulrazak Saidu, the General Secretary, of ANAP, told our correspondent on Tuesday that the warning strike may affect the chances of Nigeria’s scaling the ICAO audit.

He said that the decision of the union to opt out of the two-day warning strike was taken after a review of the internal situation in the industry and its consequences.

He also said that the union wanted to protect Nigeria from being sanctioned by the global aviation body.

He said:

“The aviation union decided not to comply fully with the directive of the National Executive Council (NEC) of NLC so that the ICAO auditors already in the country would be able to carry out their assignment without disruption.

“NLC NEC has taken the decision and directed all affiliates to mobilize for the two-day warning strike beginning tomorrow (Tuesday). In line with the directive of the NEC NLC, we have issued a circular to that effect in the Aviation industry.

However, after a wide range of consultations in that regard, and considering the volatile and international nature of the aviation industry and best practices, we have discovered that the warning strike will negatively affect the ongoing audit of aviation facilities in the country.

“Given this development, we cannot allow the disruption of the ongoing 10 days audit to cause Nigeria to be sanctioned by the international aviation body. Therefore, all normal activities, regarding Aviation business should continue uninterrupted.”

Also, the Air Transport Staff Senior Services Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), said it would not be a part of the warning strike, saying its parent body, Trade Union Congress (TUC) was not ready for a strike.

Comrade Frances Akinjole, General Secretary, ATSSSAN, told our correspondent that the leadership of the congress posited that negotiations with the government had not broken down irretrievably.

He said that its members were encouraged to use their best endeavours to avoid every situation that could lead to friction among workers at workplaces.

He added:

“This ugly division is not going to be a permanent phenomenon. We shall not allow decisions of the whole to destroy our solidarity in the aviation sector.

“Painfully, it is not our decision! We are not cowards!”

Lagos State: Omotoso, And 17 Others To Face Fresh Screening As Gov. Sanwo-Olu' Represent Nominees Names

The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, transmitted a second list of cabinet member-nominees to the Lagos State House of Assembly.

This is coming a few weeks after the House confirmed 22 and rejected 17 out of the 39 nominees earlier sent to it for ratification and confirmation.

The immediate past Commissioner for Health in the state, Prof. Akin Abayomi, who was among the 17 nominees rejected by the House, made the new list.

The ad hoc committee led by the Chief Whip, Fatai Mojeed, who screened the previous nominees, will also screen the new set of nominees.

The rejection of the 17 nominees by the House had raised dust among politicians and residents of the state.

The PUNCH reports that the Governance Advisory Council, the apex leadership body of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, waded into the circumstances surrounding the rejection and directed the governor and the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, to meet and settle their differences.

This was after Obasa raised the alarm on the floor of the House that there were threats of attack on him and his colleagues, warning that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

The new nominees, which consist of 18 names, include Dr Afolabi Tajudeen, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, Prof. Akinola Abayomi, Engr Olalere Odusote, Dr Oluwarotimi Wahab-Fashola, Mrs Folashade Ambrose-Medem, Mr Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, Mr Samuel Egube, and Hon. Tolani Akibu.

Others are Mrs Bolaji Dada, Mrs Barakat Bakare, Mr Olugbenga Omotoso, Mr Mosopefolu George, Mr Yekini Agbaje, Dr Olumide Oluyinka, Mr Abayomi Oluyomi, Dr Iyabode Ayoola, and Hon. Sola Giwa.

A letter by Governor Sanwo-Olu thanked the Speaker and members of the House for their diligence and commitment in relation to the recent screening and confirmation of 22 nominees.
