The attempt by Nihi Oladele and Gloria Nwene to trek from Abuja-Otueke has gone a long way as they reached Delta State thursday, 14th May. Its been tagged by some as #9jaFirstTwitterRealityShow... I've been following it up for over 2 weeks now, although i've posted just once about it. sorry

A lot has happened in the last 12days;
Nihi was rejoined by his trek partner(Gloria),
They've had reception at almost every town they trekked through,
Nihi who had barely 300 twitter followers before the trek now has over 3000 followers,
They've fallen sick and recovered...
They've received support in cash and kind


Its being a complete reality show as they've been posting pictures from every road and junction...
But something happened yesterday Friday 15th may. a popular Nollywood actress Omotala Ekeinde(@realomosexy) came really hard at trekkers...


Omotala tweeted;
"Silly youths trekking their futures way. You don't trek to bring awareness to your suffering plights but trek to celebrate politicians?Smh!"
Nihi and Gloria's followers expressed disappointment at Omotala's tweet until the worst/best (depending on who u support) happened....

There are limits to Facebook-owned WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption. The Boeing-777 disappeared with no trace in March - yet the £20, 916 was taken out in July

Four passengers of the doomed MH370 flight have had more than £20,000 withdrawn from their personal bank accounts in a series of mysterious transactions.
The flight went missing five months ago and yet the cash machine withdrawals for a total of 111,000 RM, or £20, 916, are believed to have taken place in July.
City Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Asst Comm Izany Abdul Ghany confirmed the large sum of money had disappeared from four accounts.

The Pope arrived in South Korea today but just as his plane touched down North Korea fired a series of missiles.
As the pope's plane approached South Korean airspace off the west of the peninsula, North Korea test fired three short-range rockets into the sea off its east coast, according to South Korea's defence ministry.
The test site was more than 100 miles away from the pope's plane, but North Korea fired two more projectiles from the same location early this afternoon.


The North has tested an unprecedented number of rockets and missiles this year and has in recent weeks said the launches were in retaliation to U.S.-South Korean military exercises scheduled to start on Monday.
The capital Pyongyang often stages such tests when rival South Korea is in the global spotlight, in what is seen as a means to grab a share of the attention.
In the first papal trip to Asia in 15 years, Pope Francis called for the two rival sides to make peace. The Korean peninsula has been divided since the 1950-53 Korean war, which left millions of families separated.

An experimental drug for treatment of Ebola has been provided by a Nigerian in diaspora and will arrive the country today, health minister Onyebuchi Chukwu, has said.
The drug, called “Nanosilver”, can now be used following the approval by the World Health Organisation (WHO) that experimental treatments are ethical in the case of the Ebola pandemic.

The Nigerian government authorised the use of experimental drugs on Wednesday. The US sent ZMapp, another experimental drug, to Liberia on Wednesday, while Canada has decided to donate 1,000 vaccines to the affected countries.

According to Chukwu, the experimental drug is a donation from a Nigerian scientist who was concerned about threat of Ebola in his home country. “The drug will reach Nigeria today,” he said. Chukwu disclosed that the 169 secondary contacts were still under surveillance, while in all Ebola 11 cases had been recorded, including the index case, Patrick Sawyer, and the two Nigerians who died of the disease. “Some of the people under surveillance have completed the 21 days incubation period, and we have to let them go,” he said.

Two officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Obokun LGA Area of Osun State were earlier this morning (around 3a.m.) arrested for diverting sensitive election materials.
Sources said one of the suspects, the Electoral Officer for the LGA, confessed to the act but refused to name those who sent him as he pleaded for mercy.

However, he did not deny when confronted that he was sighted inside vehicles belonging to a PDP stalwart in Obokun, Chief Francis Ade Fadahunsi.
His phone call log also showed clearly that he’s had constant voice and SMS communication with the PDP chief.
The vigilant people of Otan-Ile would have lynched the suspects but for the intervention of police officers.

Just last month the Chinese government sealed off a city of more than 100,000 people, fearing the spread of a plague outbreak. More than 151 people exposed to the deadly disease were quarantined in that time, and one middle-aged man died from the infamous bacterial infection that is commonly called the Black Death.
A nine day quarantine was placed upon the city of Yumen in the northwest Gansu Province after a 38-year-old man died from what was later identified as an infection of the Yersinia pestis bacterium, according to state news agency Xinhua.


The "pestilence" of old, Y. pestis was carried by rodents and fleas throughout Europe and Central Asia, peaking in the years 1346 to 1353, and killing an estimated 75 to 200 million people in a global tragedy later referred to as the "Black Death." The plague was around long before that time, but it is speculated to have reached devastating pandemic levels after global trade - and thus the spread of invasive rodents - was expanded by the Silk Roads.
