No, my account was not updated for the passport submission. However, I tracked my submission with the reference number on the submission slip I got from vfs. I also received a mail from canada Visa application centre that my passport was ready for collection after. 2 working days.

I also think you should contact cic as earlier advised by mcobex.

Send an email to CIC ASAP, cos your passport shouldn't have stayed more than 7 days(normal) with them after submission. Best of luck

Yes, I got my correspondence letter on 29th Sept and picked up my stamped passport today.
