I'm sure if you see the fellow you want to tear slap in real life you will prostrate to greet him.

Instead of tearing slap up and down, why don't you counter his statement with intelligent rebuttal?

Isn't it an open secret that the largely Moslem Hausa and Fulani are trying to conquer the other parts of the North that are mainly Christian?

Haven't we seen them renaming settlements that they've conquered?

Or why is it that there is always crisis in Plateau state, a northern state with over 95% Christian population?
What exactly are you trying to say

AMvanquish:
This is a misleading Article. The struggle is for resources , and not religion. This conflict has been going on for years.
It is news everywhere now because of the frequency and deadly nature of the raids has increased, and the media now find it newsworthy to promote whatever agenda they have in mind.

I stopped reading when he was having the interaction with the Fulani boy about the "German Insignia (swastika)". grin. This interaction is a Faaat Lie.
What does a local Fulani boy with no western education know about swastika , not to talk of Nazi Germany. grin I laff. Im very sure it was just coincidence the boy wearing the swastika logo shirt, not knowing the story behind the logo, innocently bought at a bend down select and you have a visiting journalist who is biased , writing an article about Islamisation. What a perfect match for a wonderful story.
And common man, that boy doesn't look Fulani, we all know how Fulani look like and most times dress.

And from the Authors name "Levy", definitely Jewish. We know how Jews and Muslims roll. wink

The author does not know that even core Muslim states like Zamfara and Katsina have parts of it under siege by this same Fulani. Parts of Birnin gwari area in Kaduna is a no go zone and has been facing this challenge for many years by the same Fulani militia.

The article was on point till the tilt towards Islamisation and cooked up interaction with fulanis, we know there is a serious conflict going on , but don't come and add your own Maggi to the story to favour you and your sponsors.

Now his gullible readers and many Nigerians would swallow this story hook, line and sinker because it was published by the famous Wall Street Journal.
The media is really powerful. Nonsense.

Thank you. I'm in Borno and only last week boko haram killed 19 fulani herders at Gamboru a border town with Cameroon. How are the two fighting for the same cause?

I wonder what you SW people gain in supporting such evil
Nomadic fulani herdsmen are not practising Muslims. They don't represent Islam but work to protect their animals. This is the naked truth. This french author is sponsored to trigger religious conflict in Nigeria as plan B incase Boko haram failed. As Nigerians we should know better . What we need now is not religous war but religious peace and unity.

Before you had the Quran or the Bible in booklet form, it first exists in electronic form(electric signals represented in ones and zeros). Then it was printed using paper material and ink material before being binded as a book. It went through all the processes every other books go through before they exists in printed form.

What this means is that we could equally use the computer, printer, paper, ink, and whatever material used to produce the Bible or Quran to equally produce other books. Why then should a logical person be disturbed if either a Quran or Bible is destroyed? - just mere writings brought together by men using technology.

Ok, what if we had destroyed these materials just before we click the print button on the computer to print the Quran or Bible? What will you say then?

Why don't we raise eyebrows when a Quran or Bible app installed on the phone is deleted or uninstalled? It is logically the same thing but we have failed to use our brain.

Life isn't as complicated as we have made it seem. Please don't allow religion blind your common sense and ability to think logically.
Clearly you have a narrow, simple and a myopic view of life. The Qur'an existed long before the advent of modern technology you talked about. And it's the message that counts and gave value to it not the material used to preserve the message. Did you know how much Albert Einstein private letter to his wife cost. It's certainly not because of the quality of the paper or beauty of his handwriting . When a Qur'an get old from usage a muslim is allowed to burn it. However if a person muslim or non muslim do so out of contempt of the Qur'an or the muslims it's a different story and shouldn't be tolerated by those whose conscience are attacked

Islam for Muslims / Re: Imam And Congregation Offering Du‘aa’ Together Following Jumu‘ah & other Prayers by baganas: 9:22am On Nov 08, 2019
AbuTwins:
Question

We pray the two fard rak‘ahs of Jumu‘ah, then after that the imam turns around and we all offer du‘aa’ together. Is what we do correct?

Answer

Praise be to Allah.
What the believers should do is follow the example of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with regard to what he did and did not do. He should do what the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) did and refrain from that from which the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) refrained. Allah, may He be exalted, said (interpretation of the meaning):

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad SAW) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day ...”
[al-Ahzaab 33:21].

Du‘aa’ by the imam after an obligatory prayer – Jumu‘ah or otherwise – with the congregation saying Ameen is something that was not done by the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) or by any of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). If it was good, they would have done it before us.

Based on that, this action comes under the heading of reprehensible innovation. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever among you lives after I am gone will see great disputes; you must adhere to my Sunnah and the way of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. Hold on to it and cling fast to it. And beware of newly-invented matters, for every newly-invented matter is an innovation and every innovation is a going astray.”
Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4607; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

And the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever introduces something into this matter of ours that is not part of it will have it rejected.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2697; Muslim, 1718.

Ash-Shaatibi (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned congregational du‘aa’ after the obligatory prayer in his book al-I‘tisaam (1/349-355), and explained that this is an innovation, because that was not done by the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) or by any of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) or any of the imams (leading scholars) after them.

What you must do is refrain from this innovation and strive to recite the adhkaar and du‘aa’s that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to say after the prayer. And whoever wants to offer du‘aa’ may do so quietly.
And Allah knows best.

Family / Re: My Wife Insists No Sex Until Wedding Night Even After Our Traditional Wedding by baganas: 8:55am On Oct 31, 2019
igwegeorgiano:
Friends on NL I greet you all. Trust your day is going well? It is with very heavy heart and confused state of mind I sent this post on this platform so you can advise me on what line of action I should take. Pastors and genuine men of God should also advise me on what to do as well.

There is this lady i have been dating for about a year and 6 months now. We love each other to the moon and most importantly we respect each other opinion and decisions. She is a born again christian who appreciates the things of God more than she appreciates me which of course I have no issues with.

When we agreed to start up a relationship after being friends for about 6 months, it was agreed that there will be no sex until the wedding night but at a point I asked her "what if we are done with traditional marriage rites are we still not gonna have sex? To my creates surprise she said we won't until church wedding is done. I did not actually took her serious.

Fast forward, on the 15th of July 2019 the traditional marriage was done in her father' compound in the east and all I was asked to pay and give was paid and given without any remainder . after the traditional marriage we went back to my house in abuja. Note that we were not staying together before now. I am base in abuja while she is in owerri. When we got home that night I told her we can now make love as husband and wife hence the traditional rites has been done and most importantly the bride price paid. To my amazement my wife bluntly refused. She told me she will never compromise her stand on pre marital sex

I have been very faithful to our agreement based on her claim that she is a virgin. But refusing me my right over her body after every thing including the bride price has been paid is something I can never subscribed to and to this end I have I have involved her parent and her pastor her decision however, still remain no sex till the wedding night. I am putting the wedding on hold for now until she willingly allow me make love to her and she seems not to be comfortable with my decision as well.

This is the dilemma I have found myself please I need your wise counsels on this. Thanks and remain bless. Moderators kindly push this post to the front page so it can have adequate views it deserves thanks
Tactically impress it on her that you're not much interested in virginity or her past life. That you're now married and will turn a new leaf and live a happy, faithful and supportive life. Use any other narrative to convince her that you will accept jer even if she isn't virgin. This should allay her fears and she'll definately open the honey pot for you tonight. Thank me later

Politics / Re: Why Japan Can’t Stop IPOB Members From Protesting Against Buhari – Ubani by baganas: 9:17pm On Aug 28, 2019
nairavsdollars:
Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Monday Ubani, former Second Vice- President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Wednesday said Japan cannot stop members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from demonstrating against President Muhammadu Buhari because the constitution of Japan protects freedom of speech and expression.

He said protests against leaders who are attending foreign meetings and summits is a normal practice all over the world.

He however said the host country may not allow the protesters to have direct access to the President so as not to attack him which may lead to retaliation by the security forces on the protesters.

While urging President Buhari to address the grievances of the IPOB members, Ubani said while the President may not do that in Japan where he is currently participating in the 7th Tokyo International Conference, he can do that immediately he returns to Nigeria so that IPOB members who felt they have been treated badly can have a sense of belonging in the country.

“When people have agitations, it could be a group or certain persons against their leaders, they usually manifest such grievances by protests and sometimes they can even follow their leaders to wherever they go in the world to express their grievance. We saw it whenever all these international leaders gather for any event, those who are protesting on climate change always come to the venue to protest and express their grievances”.

“For example, US President Donald Trump has always had strong views against climate change and sometimes there are people who gather to protest against his views on climate change”.

“So, it is a normal practice all over the world”.

“I think IPOB members are saying there are certain things that the President has done back home against IPOB members and they are there in Japan to express those grievances. I have never seen leaders trying to engage those protesters on the international fora to discuss issues”.

“There is nothing wrong in President Buhari coming home to look at those complaints and address them. People protest because they want their grievances to be addressed. If what IPOB members are protesting for is worth considering, I will ask the president to look into those issues and address them. But stopping them from protesting is out of it”.

“Even Japan will not stop people from protesting against their leaders. They can’t do that because freedom of expression allows that especially in a country like Japan. But the IPOB members must not abuse, beat up leaders as they did to Ike Ekweremadu. We condemn that”.

“People can express their grievances against leadership, people can protest against misgovernance but physically manhandling leaders is not something we should encourage because it may lead to consequences that may be fatal.

“If the security operatives of the leaders begin to shoot, those protesters may be killed. If the protesters are also given unrestricted access, they can mob the leaders to death. So, we should always try to strike a balance in all these things” he posited.
