Family / Re: Reasons Why Marrying Someone For A Green Card Is A Bad Idea Fraught With Risk by bakandow11: 9:13pm On Oct 22, 2014
hugelyendowed:
I don't care, if marrying a white woman old, granny or young, would earn me a green card, why not? I would gladly accept d offer abeg.
In nigeria or developing nations in broad sense, the distance between the rich and the poor isn't that much but the gap is so wide, so for you to move up the food chain you have to build a bridge. many nigerians have done this, the stroy is always like BROTHER left for U.S and after 5years is back well loaded.
Comparing this act with rituals, money laudering, kidnapping and even embezzlement of public funds i think the 2yrs is worth the wait to have the chance to even liberate other family member from abject poverty.
In conclusion life is all about risk, to cross to d next level u will have to take one ( ask Dangote).

Computers / IOS 8.1 In The Mrkt. by bakandow11: 4:42pm On Oct 19, 2014
The iOS 8.1 public release will roll out on 20 October as announced by Apple executives in the recently concluded iPad event.

The iOS 8.1, which is the first major update to iOS 8, brings a bunch of bug-fix updates, offers a handful of new services including Apple Pay, and unlocks access to advanced features of Continuity such as SMS Relay and Instant Hotspot, reports MacRumors.

The report further suggests that while some major Continuity features such as Handoff and Phone calls on the Mac are functional for those owning an iOS 8 device as well as a Mac running OS X Yosemite, some features like SMS Relay and Instant Hotspot will only be accessible once iOS 8.1 is rolled out on Monday, 20 October.

Instant Hotspot

With Instant Hotspot feature, it is now possible to remotely activate an iPhone's Personal Hotspot capabilities via a Mac which is in range with the iPhone.

Users can now access and connect to automatically detected hotspots of an iPhone via Mac's Wi-Fi menu without having to authorise the connection on the iPhone.

SMS Relay

Contrary to the existing limitation wherein only an iPhone is able to access SMS messages, the SMS relay feature built into iOS 8.1 will enable relay access on both Macs and iPads as the message will get routed or forwarded to these devices via user's iPhone.

In addition, users will now be able to respond to their messages or start SMS-based conversations on any device (Mac, iPad or iPhone) without having to exclusively rely on the iPhone as was the case with iOS 8.

Apple Pay

Apple Pay will be a revolutionary service from Apple as it forays into the mobile payment technology with the release of iOS 8.1 on 20 October.

This feature will bring a unifying experience of making online payments with hundreds of retailers and various banks, wherein an iPhone can make contactless payments very similar to your debit or credit card.

Camera Roll

Along with the debut of some exciting Continuity features, iOS 8.1 will also see the return of Camera Roll feature, which should be a pleasant surprise to avid photographers who own iOS devices.

iCloud Photo Library

iCloud Photo Library brings centralised access to all the cloud-based storage needs such as photos and videos via user's iCloud account.

The iOS devices will have access to smaller versions or compressed versions of user data on cloud, which helps in reducing storage requirements on iPhones and iPads.

iCloud Photo Library is expected to integrate into the forthcoming Photos app for the Mac as it is not readily available for Macs in iOS 8.1 release.

Bug-Fixes

iOS 8.1 is also expected to address a handful of bugs including the Bluetooth pairing issue reported by some iPhone users trying to connect with other Bluetooth devices.

Barack Obama revealed his embarrassment after his credit card was declined at a New York City restaurant last month.

The President admitted that his card was declined when he attempted to pay for a meal with his wife during the United Nations General Assembly in September.

"I was trying to explain to the waitress: 'No, I really think that I've been paying my bills'," he said.

"It turned out, I guess I don't use it enough. They thought there was some fraud going on."

Mr Obama said that "fortunately" First Lady Michelle Obama had a credit card that they were able to use instead.

The President told reporters about the incident as he signed a new executive order aimed at promoting tighter debit card security and preventing identity theft.

"Even I'm affected by this," he added.

The President's executive order calls for more secure payments to and from the federal government, and aims to set up an online, "one-stop resource" for victims of identity theft.

100 million Americans were affected by identity theft in the past year.

Celebrities / "William Brothers" By Russian President by bakandow11: 4:15pm On Oct 19, 2014
SINGAPORE (AP) — Serena Williams says comments by the head of the Russian Tennis Federation referring to her and older sister Venus as "brothers" were bullying, sexist and racist, and that she supported the one-year suspension imposed by the WTA against the official.

Shamil Tarpischev was also fined $25,000 for making the comments on Russian television. He also said the sisters were "scary" to look at.

"I think the WTA did a great job of taking (the) initiative and taking immediate action to his comments," Williams said Sunday in Singapore ahead of her WTA Finals defense. "I thought they were very insensitive and extremely sexist as well as racist at the same time. I thought they were in a way bullying. "

Asked whether he regretted his comments, Tarpischev told The Associated Press on Saturday at the Kremlin Cup that the program on which he spoke was "a humorous show." When asked about his ban, Tarpischev said: "I can't comment. I don't understand it."

In a statement released later by the Russian Tennis Federation, Tarpischev denied any "malicious intent" and said his quotes had been taken out of context.

The WTA said it would seek his removal as chairman of the Kremlin Cup tournament, which ends Sunday.

Russia's Maria Sharapova, also in Singapore for the WTA Finals, condemned her compatriot's comments.

"I think they were very disrespectful and uncalled for, and I'm glad that many people have stood up, including the WTA. It was very inappropriate, especially in his position and all the responsibilities that he has not just in sport, but being part of the Olympic committee," she said.

Tarpischev has been chairman of the Kremlin Cup, Russia's only WTA event, for all of its 18 years as a women's tour event, and is also a member of the International Olympic Committee. During the 1990s, he was the personal tennis coach to Russian President Boris Yeltsin and served as his adviser on sports matters.

He made his comments during an appearance on a Russian talk show this month alongside former Olympic singles champion Elena Dementieva. When Dementieva was asked what it was like playing against the Williams sisters, Tarpischev interjected and called them the "Williams brothers." He also said that "it's scary when you really look at them."

Williams, the world number 1 at the age of 33, is going into the WTA Finals on the back of another stellar year, winning six titles including the US Open. But she pulled out of the China Open earlier this month with a knee injury, triggering some concerns she might not make the Singapore.

The draw for the year-end competition — starting Monday at the 10,000-capacity Singapore Indoor Stadium — puts Williams in the Red Group with 23-year-old Simona Halep and 20-year-old Eugenie Bouchard as well as the more experienced Ana Ivanovic, the only one of her three opponents ever to beat her.

Williams said doctors only allowed her to start hitting the ball in practice again last week.

"They thought it was very bad for me to hit sooner than that," she said. "After that, I just, like I said, started training. I was surprised at how well I was able to kind of jump back into it."

The White Group sees second-seeded Sharapova, the French Open champion, joined by Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova, Caroline Wozniacki and Agnieszka Radwanska.

CHANGE: Further changes from April 2012
From April 2012, the following changes will also be made, as previously indicated in the statement of intent published on 31 March 2011:
•   Work placements - these will be restricted to one-third of the course, unless the course is at degree level and the sponsor is a higher education institution or the student is on a study abroad programme.
•   Time limits in Tier 4 - we will limit the time students can spend at degree level to 5 years, with certain exemptions for longer courses and doctorates at higher education institutions.
•   Tier 1 Post-study work - this will be closed from April 2012, however we will retain a route into sponsored graduate employment through Tier 2 of the points-based system.

i will start from your first quran qoute, Allah was revealing to mohammed to tell us never to argue with the people of the book but in the best manner and in that manner i will today.
I start in the name of Allah the most beneficient the merciful, am not here to defend islam and i seek forgiveness for watever i will be puting across, u cant just enter a verse bring it out and believe u av all d message, u av to luk for the reason or story behind such verse, why on earth do xtains seperate the hold testament from the new if that is d case, ISSA ( JESUS) may d peace and blessing of Allah be upon him is my prophet too, to be a muslim i must believe in him. Go deep find the root of every verse, where and what lead to it.
THE Quran as never been touch revised or re written, it truthfulness will always prevail.
dis bible was said to av been discover as the oldest bible written in jesus language by bernabars, use all u av to research the content of the very special book then u will know exactly what to say, dnt be a xtain because ur father and mother were, research more on why the old testament was seperated, why didnt dey live it jst the way God put it, why do we muslim keep ours that way.
