Despite their 6-0 thrashing of Leeds United on Wednesday night, Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool FC are not considering “chasing down” Manchester City in the title battle.

The final of Europe's most prestigious club championship is set to take place on May 28th in Russia's second-largest city, but Uefa is facing mounting pressure to change the location after Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed his plan to send soldiers into Ukraine's eastern Donbas region.

The current Uefa position is that the match will be held in St Petersburg, but it is known that the situation is fluid, with officials exploring backup options. Because of Covid, the Champions League final has been rescheduled in both of the previous two seasons.</p>

A statement from Norwich City has confirmed the appointment of Dean Smith as head coach. The English man who was recently sacked by Aston Villa following a disappointing start to the 2021/2022 season has been handed the task of rescuing bottom-placed Norwich City.

The statement read: “Smith has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year contract and will be joined in Norfolk by assistant head coach Craig Shakespeare. Most recently manager of fellow Premier League side Aston Villa, Smith brings a wealth of experience to Norwich City.”

Smith takes over from Daniel Farke who was sacked just days before he was asked to leave his post at Villa after winning the confidence of the board ahead of former Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard.

The signing of Smith is expected to boost the confidence of the players who would be looking to impress the new manager.
