Politics / Re: Cocaine Smuggling Politician Arrested by Baro(m): 12:02am On May 20, 2010 |
@ Frontpage/Moderator The report did not say Senatorial aspirant, but House Of Assembly aspirant. Besides, what is the proof that he is really the latter? What party is he, which constituency? Anybody can say he is a Presidential aspirant afterall. Anyway, am not in any way trying to hold brief for the 52yrs old disgrace or for any politician, my point is that facts be put straight and not unduly sensationalized. |
Politics / Re: Soyinka And Tinubu Shun Oshiomhole's One-Man-One-Vote Rally In Benin City! by Baro(m): 11:35pm On Apr 30, 2010 |
That rally was not for IBB, it was put together to commemorate Oshiomhole's victory at the Tribunal and to popularize his "One man, One vote" campaign. IBB only showed up to test his level of acceptance in such a civil gathering, and also to feather is new found democratic nest. The only blame due Oshiomhole, is that i suspect he never told Soyinka, Tinubu and co, that Maradona would be on the same Sam Ogbemudia Stadium pitch too. And so it must have been a rude shock, when the news came to them a few hours before kick off. As they were probably ill-prepared to provide tackles that would/could scuttle the General's deft moves on the field of play, and so they shuddered and scampered for safety. All the Ac Leaders that left the rally are all cowards, including Soyinka. They just lost a good oportunity to put an end to the presidential ambition of the 'Evil Genius'. Very funny they all ran just because of one man. Same man they continually castigate for not honouring an invitation to Oputa Panel, inter alia. Now they have him to devour on a platter of gold and they chickened out. Tomorrow, they will start boasting and saying what they can't do on the pages of newspapers. If anyone should feel uncomfortable and suffocated in such a gathering to the extent of taking to his heels, it should have been the Ex-dictator, and not our so called democrats. Please, the title should read " 'DEMOCRATS' SCAMPER AT THE SIGHT OF IBB " . . . . . Kudos to the likes of Keyamo, and Odumakin, who stayed back to give the General a piece of their mind. How i miss Gani . . . . |
Politics / Re: Where Is Dr Abalaka? by Baro(m): 2:43am On Apr 23, 2010 |
When i saw Abalaka on this thread, one name stampeded my mind; Dr Tim Menakaya, the then Minister of Health. Both were like cat and rat. @ topic, Abalaka is an enigma. A doctor friend of mine, told me that he is presentlly in Canada researching with some international agencies/universities. I sought his opinion of Abalaka, and he rated him very high, said he is also respected in medical circles. 1 Like |
Music/Radio / Re: To All You Terry G Haters! by Baro(m): 12:28am On Apr 10, 2010 |
tavarez: Please stop saying what you do not know. P Boiz wrote all their songs themselves. Terry G was introduced to Faze by Ayo Animashaun, long after the release or Faze's 1st Album, he thereafter became Faze's backup singer, until he kicked up his career in 2007. @ Topic, Terry G is talented, but how he applies and manages this talent is another issue. |

GOVERNOR of course! He is the undisputed head of a defined territory(State), he has a secured tenure, he has unilateral powers, he has immunity, he has unfettered access to the state treasury and lots more. |

Politics / Re: What Utter Madness - Civil Defence Corps Now To Carry Arms by Baro(m): 11:01pm On Mar 02, 2010 |
Nigerian government always like to duplicate institutions, all for their ulterior motives. The Police if reformed and properly equipped can do the job. We the populace do not need Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for any reason, it is the politicians that need it; mostly for election rigging, intimidation of opponents, and access to arms and ammunition. Besides, as someone already stated, there will certainly be incessant clashes between them and the Police, due to conflict in their duties, this is because the Police Act already empowered the Police to do what the said NSCDC has also been commissioned to do. So, why not use the money spent on the establishment, and funding of the NSCDC to upgrade the police? Nigerian rulers simply need a variety of armed personnel to continue to use to enslave, oppress, maim and kpuff the masses. |
Music/Radio / Re: Terry G In Malaysia Singin What? by Baro(m): 10:40pm On Mar 02, 2010 |
He is going there to perform for naija guys in Malaysia, a few guys would come with their Asian babes and friends, but it's basically a naija show. Presently, only Femi Kuti, Asa and Nneka perform in foreign shows of international standard and audience. |

Politics / Re: Edo Gets News Police Commissioner And Inec Chairman by Baro(m): 11:03pm On Jan 21, 2010 |
@ Osaass The news is confirmed. I just hope that PDP is not trying to use it's Federal might to subvert the wishes of the people of Etsako Central, because we all know that in a free and fair election, Oshiomhole's Action Congress would defeat Edo State PDP with a wide margin. That is the reality. Lets watch and see. |

jejelolatu: The Sodjes are three; Efetobore, Sam and Akpo. Efetobore is the one that ties bandana, Sam is good, i think he paired with Dele Adeleye in our friendly victory against France. |

@ Topic Rabiu Ibrahim, Rabiu Afolabi, Sam Sodje, and Onyekachi Okoronkwo should be on that list on merit. @ too_soon With a little work on his passing accuracy; Odemwingie could be a very good playmaker. |

Politics / Re: Gov. Oshiomole Changing Benin-city To Dubai. by Baro(m): 4:26pm On Dec 07, 2009 |
Oshiomhole is working at a pace no other governor has done, except Ogbemudia. But i am not carried away by what he is doing, what would make me doff my hat for him, would be the longevity/durability and maintenance of these projects, else we would be back to square one after a year or 2. Time will judge the Comrade Governor. I will try to get some pics and post. |

Celebrities / Re: Celebrity Takes2 Season 2: And The Show Began. by Baro(m): 5:49pm On Nov 19, 2009 |
@ Topic Let me start on a lighter note, about a year ago there was a show in Benin, i think it was by Celtel, now Zain, where Obiwon fainted while choregraphing and doing his thing on stage. It was a big drama, although he was revived later. I hope he doesn't collapse this time around, cos it's going to be marathon dancing. Aside that, i think he is a big contender, and also Faze got the potentials too. Yinka looks fit, so she would cope easily, also Stella, looks flexible as well. And please dont write off Zakki, even though i cant vouch for his talent in any regard, but he is one resilient and never-give-up dude, i wont be surprised if he has since employed a private dance instructor. He is a go-getter. Who else? Oh Kel, she is very young, sexy and trendy, that would be her strong points, same for Dakore, but minus the "young" part. Blaq would be an ok dancer. Amata and Fathia would just be the comic relief. Looking forward to watching the show, last edition was very interesting and entertaining. |
