Charles Onyekwere writes that at least three people yesterday lost their lives in separate accidents involving two articulated vehicles carrying Coca-Cola products and Hero brand of beer in different locations in Nsukka, Enugu State. A witness reportedly said the first accident occurred at Ugwuoye near old NEPA when a truck carrying Hero Beer lost its brake and some cartoons of beer fell on a motorcyclist and his female passenger. According to the report, the witness was opposite the old NEPA buying something when the accident occurred. The report says that the motorcyclist died on the spot but the female passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died. In the second event, the report quotes a witness as saying that in less than one hour after the first incident, another articulated vehicle apparently carrying Coca-Cola crushed one person to death in front of NITEL building.

The truck belongs to a 3rd party that conveys products from NB Plc Breweries (NB Plc don't have any truck for the record) and this 3rd party driver whose truck committed this unwholesome act isn't owned by Nigerian Breweries Plc. Despite this, I have seen Nigerian Breweries conduct Safety rounds for Her drivers with the help of Road safety officers. Many of Our driver in Nigeria are just too reckless and uncompromising when driving on the highway. God Rest the soul of the Dead,and grant his family the heart to bear his demise.
