Even 365 makes mistakes. I won the lost bet below and lost the OKC over 66.5. They later corrected it without contacting them.

Which company is good to drag down to 1kobo?

No company will come down to 1 kobo because of the one tick required to move price. With the present 5% move per session, the least prices could get to is 19kobo because 20 kobo is the least price that you can get 1 kobo from a 5% move.

Sanusi, Mangal can’t stop Oando’s forensic audit – Group
Business – Punch Newspapers / Taiwo Ojoye / 2 hours ago

The Oando Shareholders Solidarity Group has said the intervention of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, in the face-off between the company and one of its aggrieved shareholders cannot stop a forensic audit planned by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Coordinator, OSSG, Clement Ebitimi, said that while his group was not against the peace accord with Alhaji Dahiru Mangal brokered by Sanusi, the issue of the forensic audit bordered on financial mismanagement, insider dealings, abuse of corporate governance and infractions of the Investment and Securities Act, 2007.

Ebitimi said in a statement, “For the avoidance of doubt, the forensic audit of Oando ordered by SEC is not about Alhaji Dahiru Mangal. The audit is about series of infractions of the Investment and Securities Act, 2007 uncovered in the company by a preliminary investigation ordered by SEC.

“SEC’s preliminary findings established serious concern to the existence of corporate governance, gross abuse of corporate governance and series of manipulations and financial management in Oando Plc.”

Mangal's petition was the reason for SEC's findings, the same findings that called for the audit. The man says he has withdrawn his petition and some hungry ossg are looking for who will oil their hands.

Who will pay the 160 million naira forensic audit fee? SEC or OSSG?

That is how cowboys make things happen.... wink The grouse of the petitioner could be that JAT et al were whacking the cookie jar alone without extending same to his side. Now that he has been brought on board, that is the end of the fight and by extension investigation.... grin

No, the petitioners never had a grouse. It was all about business interests.

Someone thinks he can't do business with Oando once his refinery come on stream. He only used those guys as fronts.

If any NSEMPA still believe something positive will come out of the forensic audit then, you need to see a psychiatrist...honestly... grin

The problem with OandO has little to do with SEC. The problems were there before the Mangala petition. The Ansbury petition is still pending.

Would really like to understand what the attraction is to OandO by any investor.
Ansbury does not have a case; the company is not a shareholder in Oando.

Only an ignorant person will fall for the lies! what good news will eradicate account qualification by an auditor? When an auditor doubt your going concern! Of course many investors dont even read the annual reports cheesy

Audits are conducted yearly. An account qualified this year does not stand qualified forever. The accounts of BankPHB, Springbank, and the other banks that went under was sold to AMCON in August 2011 were never qualified.

So an auditors opinion should be combined with other facts to reach a decision. In this Naija, Oando will not go down just like that. If only you know those that pushing the petition from behind.

Cut that guy some slack, WT is actually a cowboy.

Please dear friends, I have some questions on Oando, and seriously needed an answer.

When will Oando forensic audit commence?, or has the audit commence already?
If yes, how long will it take, i.e, how many weeks or months. If after the audit, the findings indicate administrative wrong doing, please what will be the fate of the current management, and what will be its effect on the Oando share price, north or south movement?

These days, I see Oando share market movement, some times on full bid, after a while it will be on fully heavy offer.
Who is biding and who is offloading?

There won't be any forensic audit.

The guy selling Access Bank is on another level. He should just do a cross deal at whichever price he wishes.

A cross deal is akin to the normal buy and sell only that it is done intra-firm, it could also be done inter-firm throgh the negotiated deal window.

How many units do you want crossed to you sir?

And your brothers and sisters being used as slaves in Libya and killed like dogs, prøstitutes in Italy, and drug couriers in Malaysia, what have you great warrior said about them?

If my comments cause you so much pain, hang yourself.

Run along, you're my slave.

You think whoever counters your shameful comments is Igbo or IPOB as you guys call them here.

And in case you forget, even slaves have levels. If your Igede Kinsmen are ever given the opportunity to be Libyan slaves and drug pushers like you mentioned, you people will worship that person like God.

I'm more Benue than you as you're Igede. Those calling you a Benue guy never knew you're a slave in Benue. You that your kinsman was deputy governor for eight years and thereafter went to contest to become a councillor and lost. Low lifers with stinking inferiority complex.

If you think you have arrived in life, think of how to liberate your people from the abject poverty they are facing, not coming to type rubbish here.

This one has finally found respite from criticism in this crisis.

Ortom as a governor can't absolve himself of blame from what is going on. He has contributed his fair share to it.

And while feigning innocense and affection for the people of the state, alot more people have died from far more preventable courses like hunger and inability to procure simple medicare under his watch.

The only people that seem to be living well in the state as the moment are political appointees and BSU staff. Majority of parents can't afford to send their wards back to school because this fool has refused to fulfill his obligations as the governor of the state, owing up to twelve months salaries at the local government level.

Yet he pretends to care.

Repugnant hypocritical kleptomaniac.

Igede man, very soon you'll blame Ortom for being responsible for the trafficking of your kinsmen to serve as house boys or girls all over the country.

When last have you been to Oju or Obi.

We have overstudied that coy. Very good fundamental and dividend pay. However you can remained locked up here because of liquidity. As a result it also difficult to move the stock's price because it appears it is difficult to get a block sale of 50,000 units at a go. Those holding it are doing so tightly

AMCON has controlling interest here.

They don't have anything to offer

Assumptions:

1) That the 7.5% gap will be invested in equity. Note it is a cap, not a must
2) Do they all have the same investment strategies?

Yes, assumption one is more true now than 12 months ago when rates were high. The gap was less than 1% as at December 2013.

Don't forget that those funds are more keen on short term returns, hence they take position to achieve that. Also pencom ranks their performance and the top funds are those with more equity exposure. So in order for the laggards not to materially underperform now that rates are low, they'll run to equities. So yes, they all have the same strategy driven by the herd mentality.

I am not trying to predict the market o. I have only written MY OWN timelines on my plans grin

Edit:
Just to add that the expectations you have put out are what is being priced-in at the moment (IMO)
Mr. Market is the king however

Yes at the bolded, albeit with trepidation. The results will confirm that expectation and FOMO will set in.

While the following might not be correct, it is not far from the truth. The PFA with the largest exposure in equities in percentage terms had 11%. Others had exposures as low as 3%. Now that rates in the MM are biting, they're are all seeking exposure in equities; they have a limit of upto 15% exposure in equities. The 15% is for RSA funds.

The current RSA fund size is around 4.38 trillion and the industry's exposure is around 7.5%, so there is still a short fall of about 7.5%. So, there is still over 300 billion that would come to equities as rates stay low.

Most of the funds buy on news or in a bullish environment. So expect them to pump in more funds as the results start coming in.

1st week of February grin

However at that time I may look to see if I could arrange a quick 20% of Afriprud grin

Next real attack; end of April to exit end of May - another feast on banks

Last attack for the year in June: Flourmills

Disclaimer: You are on your own o. Me na weather o

Oga, this your timelines won't work.

The market will be on fire by first week of February because the early birds - FO, UCAP and AFRIPRUD, would have released their results. These companies are all going to surpass expectation. I kid you not, they will make investors wow.

Now, the present bull is propelled by funds from foreign, PFAs and the expectation of good results. Once these 3 companies results are out, it will signal what others are likely to report. That is when they'll all start scrambling to buy and take prices to new territories.

My own strategy is to buy on dips with available cash and exit in April or May depending on the temperature of the market.

As at yesterday my SIMMF was 16.8%. Will always be 1 or 2% higher than TBills

While the submission that MMFs yields are greater than T-bills rates is true, you are looking at it from a wrong angle.

What you have done was to compare rates with yield; T-bills rates and MMF yield are not the same. To get an apples to apples comparison, please compare the MMF yields with T-bills yields.

The 16.8% MMF yield you quoted above is the equivalent of 14.4% T-bills rate.

MMFs invest in T-bills, CPs and other short term instruments with maturities of less than 2 years, so their reference yields can NEVER be greater than T-bills yields. This is because T-bill is the core of their investment portfolio.

The 16.8% yield you quoted above is slightly greater than the T-bills yield of 16.69% derivable from the stop rate of 14.3% of the last auction. This is because we are coming from a higher interest rate environment and the MMFs are still heavily invested in T-bills yielding 20%+. That is why both yields are neck and neck at the moment. Expect the spread between both yields to widen, with the T-bills yield higher, as we remain in this low rate environment.

Thank you.

Is this really the effective yield for a 1 year period? If interest on t bills are indeed paid upfront (when you place the investment); then this gives an advantage such that the interest received upfront can be reinvested.

In other words my own calculation of the yield to maturity will go this way.

Yr 0: CF: (6,880,000) + 1,120,000
Yr1: CF: 6,880,000

My financial calculator tells me the effective interest rate is actually 19.4%

Can someone correct me pls?

Thanks

The formula for effect yield is. 1/(1-rate). This has been discussed here on several occasions. 1/(1-0.14)=16.2791.
