I received a call from Calabar (CROSS RIVER STATE) about a small boy who has been living on the streets and gutters for years and for days I couldn't help but think about him. Thankfully the kind hearted young man who has partnered with Hold My Hand Foundation left money for his like the Samaritan did with a woman in Calabar to stand as a Check Point until I get to him.

WHEN I MET HIM YESTERDAY HE WAS SMELLING AND PEOPLE AVOIDED HIM DUE TO THAT BUT I HAD TO SIT THROUGH TO HOURS JUST TO LET HIM KNOW HE MATTERS TOO. He had fresh cuts on his head and bruises due to skolobo boys beating him to get some money he was given.

Joshua Archibong Bassey (16yrs old) remembers his father as a Pastor with Mount Zion Light House Calabar by the name Archibong Bassey from Nsit Ubiumq
Oboyi ikot ita and when I asked him further about his parents marital status he said the father had another family but his mother was just a SIDE CHICK who had only him as the fruit of their extramarital affairs. He said he died when he was 5 yrs while his mother died when he was 11yrs old and was buried at the government cemetery in Calabar.

His late mother's name is Ethel Jim Ikon from Ibiono, Ikot Useh here in Akwa Ibom

She grew up seeing her mother and father in Ijebuland and when she lost her mother some 5yrs back she woke up one day and was told 'am not your father. I just accepted you because your mother was my lover. The mother was an Akwa Ibom lady from Ikot ekpene and she speaks both Ikot Ekpene Annan and Yoruba fluently.

She saw one one menstrual cycle to welcome her to her puberty stage and by the next month she was pregnant for another teenager who himself was also a stranded child. Nobody believed she will deliver but she did and by the 5 month after her delivery she was pregnant again for the same boy.
Eventually he ran off due to family unprepared pressure and she was stranded on the streets.

When I go the call about her plight I ran down and noticed she had been on the streets of uyo for months with her children but worst still after her second delivery she was not cares for at all as a woman who just delivered should be cared for and now she can't walk properly or sit and has had several painful episodes due to this.

She needs our help
She needs clothes, food stuffs and care while we get her a comfortable place for herself and the children.

When I met him I was warned my people around his neighborhood that he was bewitched by his mother and dumped to the father and he will not amount to anything.

Everything that went wrong in the neighborhood was attributed to him but I opened my house and gave him free access to everything and spent each day checking on him, insisting he takes his bath daily, fed him, got him clothes and everything a child deserves. I remember one day i went to shop for his first sets of clothes, shoes, underwears etc... When I called him to the house and gave them to him, he asked 'is this for me? When I nodded in affirmation he broke down and cried.

Fast forward to day... We sent him back to primary school, he finished and today he is loved by all and is in secondary school.

All an abandoned child needs is care and nurturing... Not stigmatization.

They deserve to be loved and cared for.

It was with complete shock and demeaning disbelieve to be alerted to a post on NAIRALAND by Chie8 of 4 Kids Dumped At Abak Bridge, Akwa Ibom After Pastor Branded Them Witches (Pics)

That post was twisted out of its goodness to serve chie8's crave at cheap publicity
and many blogs and television agencies reported the lie as though they had confirmed.

WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOW THE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT THEY TOOK THE NEWS FROM?
