Career / Re: How Lucrative Is Nursing As A Career? by Bhanjea: 1:23am On Apr 30, 2016
HighIQ:
very lucrative. But there are nurses and there are nurses. The one with degree, those are the real nurses, the ones from nursing school. Those ones are local nurses. Which one hath thou?

Obviously from your post above, you re either a nurse with degree or probably u re just a person that is more grounded on what people say around you, without you examining ur resolution.
It's so funny when u regard a nurse that attends school of nursing as a local nurse but you av failed to recognise the fact that this school of nursing nurses are:
1. More practically oriented compared to the university nurses
2. Much more sought after in oversea countries than the university nurses
3.This school of nurses are mostly the ones the graduate nurses run after during their clinical rotations while in training and while practising to cover their flops.
Actually,I can't blame people like you because, the system values theory more than practical.
How many clinical hours do the so called graduate nurse have?,u can bet it with me that its not up to the numberof theory hours, that's why many patients are dying in our hospitals ,since we have neglected praticals and we re jumping into the book oriented nursing that produced people like you
So please don't refer to them as local nurse, they just decided to choose that pathway for their nursing licensure or u tell me what the essence of a bnsc degree in nursing is without you passing the nursing council exams and both the "local" and the graduate nurse do sit for the exams to attain a smiliar qualification to practise

Travel / Re: Nigerian Trained Midwives Working Abroad by Bhanjea: 1:20am On Apr 25, 2016
switesthart:
Hello nairalanders, please is there any nigerian trained midwife who has successfully registered with any midwifery council of any developed country and is presently working in the said country. I tried for UK but it dint work out so I am considering newzealand or australia or any other developed country. Pls if you are a midwife or you know any midwife that has copleted the process, please share with a sister. Hope to get feedback from my nairaland family. Cheers.

US nursing has different cadre of registration, which I guess a 3year RN graduate here will only be qualified as an LPN in US,CANADA,AUSTRAlIA,NZ. In countries like UK,IRELAND,there is only a single cadre of nursing which is RN and one of the major requirement is that, you must be qualified as a first level nurse(RN) in your home country and you will have to be a product of at least a 3yrs training, with clinical and theoretical hours of 4600hrs out of which one-third will be theory while one-half will be clinical hours.
I guess a double qualified Nurse in Nigeria would be able to get into any of the European country easily...I guess NMC will send you a decision letter, what's the reason for the denial of your registration

DONMAYOR19:
Continuity of project, the problem of Nigeria politician. Obj the thief awarded the project then, but nothing happen, the thief just award contract for paper, and all this yoruba newspaper never one day reported bad thing about this thief obj. GEJ came and re awarded the contract together with Benin-Ore road, today u can leave from Lagos to Benin without tress of that Benin-Ore traffic that obj use to kill Nigerians then. Lagos-Ibadan road was ongoing well before dullapo came with his body movement and everything has been stopped.

Funny enough, some blind people will say GEJ is the problem of Nigeria, obj them no see, babagida them no see, dullard buhari them no see. Shabi nigeria started in 2009 abi? Bias will kill some people no be small.
U just publicly show ur ignorance and have won urself a place in the clown's hall of fame.....don't u know under the constituted government/contractor agreement during bidding and tendering, that a contractor will only abandon a project if he/she receives no capital sum from the government for ova 8months.......since wen has worked stop on lagos-ibadan expressway! I don't tink u even know where dat is cos u sound lyk a BRACED indigene to me..u re talking abt benin-ore road, which I do ply, can't u see dat the road is only sound from Ofosu to benin,u can't see all dose pot-hole at ore to oni-globe......know ur facts very well and u re not the only one that plys dat road....

MR MAN ATTACK THE MESSAGE AND NOT THE MESSENGER

DID CONSTRUCTION WORKERS LOSE THERE JOBS?
IS OUR CURRENCY IN FREE FALL?
DID ZENITH BANK SACK 1200 WORKERS?
DID CHINA SNUB NIGERIA, AFTER BUHARI ROMANCE WITH US?
DID JP MORGAN DELIST NIGERIA?
DID OUR INVESTORS LOOSE 311 Billion in 24 hours?

THIS IS WHAT U ARE SUPPOSE TO ASK YOURSELF OTHER THAN ATTACKING THE WRITER. THE TRUTH IS THAT NIGERIAN'S ECONOMY IS DIEING. INVESTORS ARE NOT INVESTING BECAUSE THE COUNTRY IS ON AUTO REVERSE. SINCE MAY 29 YOU HAVE BEEN HEARING HOW MUCH HAVE BEEN LOOTED, HAS ANYBODY BEEN PERSECUTED? NO. EVEN APC LEADERS ARE CONFUSED WITH THE WAY THING ARE GOING. GUY WAKE UP AND THINK
MR MAN let me ask you a genuine question, since when has nigeria been really bad...hav you forgotten the number of industrial action dat plumeted the previous administration, can u remember it was d last administration that devalued the naira just because of a dwindling oil price, did u remember how many dollars of naira SANUSI LAMIDO said was not remmitted into CBN account, can u remember one minister bought 2 armoured BMW for abt 350million,sir can u remember after the exit from paris club debt in 2006,nigeria external debt fell to 2.7trillion naira but between 2009 and 2014,it rose abt 300% to 8.4trillion naira, sir the list goes on and on
LIKE the popular adage that goes BEFORE THE HEAD GETS SPOILED,THE LEG'S ALREADY ROTTENED.....so buhari can not be the cause of this economic fail suddenly and let me ask u a question before I go "since wen has nigeria's economy sound"....Sacks as alwaz been before time immemorial so don't start to blame without ur head properly in the facts and figures of failure of the last admin
Family / Re: My Wife Nags Anytime Am Broke, Please Advise by Bhanjea: 12:07am On Sep 09, 2015
There is one basic relationship rule and dat is: Never patch up ur relationship..the lady must av been lyk dat since wen u av been courting her and u bliv u can make it work eida by working hard or thinking she will change wen u marry her, bros u re wrong.........But having married her there are 4 solutions I will profer
1. The lady seems to be jobless, why don't u get her a job or biz and let her know u guys are to complement each oda..(But if she gets a job without YOUR input,u go smell hell)
2. If u don't want her to work, den u will av to double up ur effort and avoid being broke,so dat u will av less issue
3. A nagging wife intends to frustrate you,u just av to be more than a man that u av been before and shld she push u too hard, plz don't complicate ur life by beating her, just walk away
4. Pray to God to bless u and also take a good control of ur home
But bros, I bliv u slept during the courtship days,u must av seen traces of this attitude in her
Career / Re: Pls Advise: Architecture Or Civil Engineering by Bhanjea: 1:41pm On Sep 08, 2015
Well,I will advice you to follow your passion but let me still point out this points to you
1. Civil Engineering is much more versatile compared to architecture, the truth is the architect is the team leader in a BUILDING CONSTRUCTION, but without you a STRUCTURAL ENGINEER( a branch of civil eng),the architect is all but a dreamer
2• There are other branches of civil eng ( transport eng,Geoinformatics, structure, geothecnical, hydraulics, water resources,Environmental and it goes on), so u av a wide variety of options
3• You will be taught rudiments of architecture in school and with that knowledge u can use any architectural software( autocad, chief architect, revit architecture, tesla BIM etc)
4• And with civil engineering u can easily switch into any oda engineering profession because u get to do more courses dan any engineering student and u will do all other departmental courses more detailed( that's why they call civil eng the mother of all engineering and why some folks refer civil eng to be evil engineering),that means u av to be hardworking to come out with good grades
5• Dere is a disparity in construction feilds, civil engineers hold managerial position more than architects, though I can't say why but it is the truth
6• Any one u choose, make sure u re well grounded with the praticals in the field and that can distinguish you better...Engineers also work in offices that depends on ur role wen u start working

Family / Re: My Mom Burst In While I Was Having Sex With My Wife. by Bhanjea: 10:40pm On Sep 07, 2015
Well, I don't think ur mum shld enter that room in the first place, fine I recognise d fact that she is your mother and u respect her but I believe courtesy demands a knock on the door
My guy,u don't need to give any explanation and ur wife shld feel free cos u guys are only fufilling that part of procreation.
Regarding the "son of animal thing",its not so sweet not to you but to ur wife,u know ladies can be more emotional than being logical,ur mum is just trying to express the shock,u guys gave her,try to talk to ur wife to make her fell good and bang her strictly hard(PRN),so far u have paid her bride price...u need it man and it is the secret to effortless union of a man and woman

Politics / Re: Buhari, Osinbajo Declare Assets by Bhanjea: 1:20am On Sep 04, 2015
Seriously we Nigerians are so funny....how did pple got to know he owns this,he owns dat.we av so much fed ourselves lies upon lies and it is base on hear-say...PMB is saying he worth 30million naira, then take it,so far he has a legal document to back it up and if you know one of his properties, tell CNN
Secondly, must our reasoning be clouded by bias almost all d time...PMB defeated GEJ,so be it and pro-GEJ members should stop crying over a spilled milk and blaming pple for their decision.(GEJ should have performed well to win pple ova)
Thirdly, pple re sayin d wife uses a 10million naira wrist-watch,in God's name how possible is dat...and if in ur own eyes it is possible, has she or the husband be convicted of any corruption scandal?,so not until she or her husband is convicted(not accused) of corruption,u can say anything

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How To Negotiate Your Salary During The Interview Process by Bhanjea: 8:10pm On Sep 02, 2015
Well, this is a smart idea but believe you me,many ideas will never work in nigeria....if u decide to quote a particular amount,it is down to the employer to consider you....But I reckon in a situation like dis saying " I believe this is a standard organisation with a standard pay-scale,I would love to be paid what is commensurate to my work standard and level of competence"...this statement got me my first job with a good salary and full benefit package in nigeria....Na only GOD dey WIN ooo

Health / Re: The Challenges Of Being A Nigerian Nurse by Bhanjea: 10:05am On Aug 26, 2015
Lagusta:

Thanx for the clarification

...I know this is an outdated topic, but I just want to make some comments; I happens to study medicine in nigeria while my wife studied Nursing( diploma), we applied for skilled migration visa to Australia,on getting there I was giving the biggest shock of my life...My wife got licensed almost 3months on getting there because they believe her nursing programme can be easily adapted to that in Australia, while ME ( a medical doctor in nigeria) has to undergo an additional 20months study in a medical school there...when I was in Nigeria,I do share most of the pro-medicine commentators ideology, but in the real sense,Nigeria nurses(esp diploma) are highly respected in Aussie than Nigeria medical doctors....I finished my programme and I still need to work for another 2yrs before I could be recognised as an australia medical doctor....So sheath your swords, doctors and nurses and work together with other health teams because. wat I av learnt is dat,u can be d best doctor in the world,if there is no one to carry on your work (administering the necessary nursing care),then the higher the mortality you record, the faster you are going down.....
