Am a full blooded Igbo and this is my take on the Current protest for Biafra. Personally, I don't think we are ready for self Governance yet. I would have loved our people to join hands with the current government to uplift the nation while the whole Igbo race come together to strategize for an Igbo presidency. Why did I say so? Our leaders are dis United and they are not even in support of the movement. Our governors are still arguing on the appropriate venue to hold their meetings. While Okorocha insists on Owerri, the rest of the are insisting on Enugu-they don't agree. Are they the ones to provide leadership for us when we eventually get Biafra. Even Ohaneze which I understand has factions has advised against the protest. My take is that we are not yet ready for self determination. The people protesters should THINK TWICE on the consequences of their actions. It's not just about going about protesting, they should sit down and think. In my sincere opinion, what our people should do is to convene a stakeholders meeting that will see all political, religious, sociocultural, traditional etc. Leaders of Igbo extraction come together under one roof to discuss about the fate of the Igbo race and how to unite us-we are too divided to make progress politically. In such a conference, we will strategize on how to better our political lot and achieve Igbo presidency. We need to work together with ethnic Groups and parties to achieve this vision and then correct all forms of marginalisation against us. That is my take and I think the right time for such a conference is now. 1 Like |

Reporting her or quitting the job is the not the right move. I had similar experience when I taught in a grils' secondary school before I left for national service. Mine was like a game among the girls. They wanted to know who could win my attention. What you should do is to call her and make her know that she has a bright future ahead of her which she must not scuttle through poor management of her emotions. Make her know you are there as her teacher and guardian to ensure that she becomes the most that she could ever be academically and not to engage in romantic exploits with her.She should reserve that for the right time. Also make sure you don't give her preferential treatment. After speaking sense into her head,if she persist, then speak to her in the company of a mature teacher and warn her sternly. I had to literary embarrass one of the girls that was harrasing me during my computer Practical session before her mates although that didn't dissuade her. Good luck. 2 Likes |

You mean that since last month that the names were submitted it's just now that you want to have a closed door session to determine the order in which nominees will be invited and the order for the. Screening exercise. I think public office holders and indeed all civil servants need to be a bit more proactive. |

doctimi: From this story I learn that humility and self control pay.Am pained at how this career was brought to an end.I would have loved to see a glorious end to Enyeamas career, filled with fanfare, national celebrations. Am just upset with the way he allowed things to play out. The truth from what I have read is that he put the coach in a difficult situation and of course you should expect that the man will like to make both him and the rest members of the team know that he wants discipline and that he can't be toyed with. He could have ended his career in a more glamorous way had it been things were handled more maturedly. What happened is not a good one and it may affect the team. I just pray it doesn't. Some of us that have been watching Enyeama for these 13 years will definitely miss him.I remember I watched him first when Nigeria played against England in 2002 world cup. All the best man.Gods grace in future endeavours. 2 Likes |

For the man to have successfully done this for 9 years without being detected means that something is potentially wrong with the system. It smacks of a very porous system and it should give us cause to worry. Also, it means that there are many like him in different sectors earning fat salaries with forged and doctored certificates. This is similar to the recent currency scam at the CBN where some staff were able to get away with condemned currency notes. My concern is that the necessary internal control measures that would have made it impossible for them to succeed in that mission is not there. Or possibly we are dealing with issue of complicity here. I therefore advocate a staff verification and audit in all sectors. Equally, their internal control mechanisms should be strengthened so as to forestall such reoccurence. |

geesampower:As in 1000000 millions likes for you.Nigeria needs more of people like you that believe in mutual respect and love.people who believe that even if you have grouse with the way any ethnic nationality is conducting herself, you need to point in out in the most polite manner.Ethnic bashing that we do here in NL fuels ethnic distrust and mutual hate among us. |

Indeed this PDP led government almost destroyed this nation. They have brought Nigeria to her knees. They couldn't provide power as though it is something very mystical and difficult to do.Now they still can't provide petroleum products for those who want to buy them even with their high prices. These people should bury their heads in shame. The level of mismanagement is just very monumental. |

itsMrIke:what makes sense to me is that FAAN given an update that the merit list will soon be out. This reassures us that the recruitment has not been scrapped contrary to widespread rumors. Also, with regards, to the said link formerly placed on their website, I think it's not something we should worry ourselves with, what is most important is that they have come out with information that counters all the rumors that we have been getting from this platform. 2 Likes |

Lai Mohammed is really making a mountain out of a mole hill.So he concluded that Jonathan's government is trying to frustrate simply because they extended submission of the hand over notes by two weeks. Personally I was among those who were against the way and manner the current government administered the country but APC's approach seems very combative and uncooperative. We know that they were not expecting to lose at the polls and so didn't make the report ready and I know how tasking it can be to generate a comprehensive report of a project not to talk about an administration that spent four good years. more so they will wait for the MDAs to send in their own report as their own report (output) will serve as an input into the main report. This statement from APC spokesman is very unfair, unnecessary unless if he is detailed to always seek to preempt any possible shady deal by the outgoing government by raising flag on everything they do (including those that are well meaning). 2 Likes 1 Share |
