@rman

Na your fault?

absolutely not.

We are in a society where industries are not govern. Do as you like. Trust me, it will not remain like this forever. RichMan boosting of cable TV.
Maybe you think must of us that talk here cannot afford it if they charge 20k per month. We are only demanding justification. We all understand, Nigeria is one of the world most expensive countries to do business, we are also not asking them to offer free service. Maybe you don't know the number of client paying to this guys account monthly. If they drop that 10k plan to 5k, they will still make money, not only that more people will upgrade from 2.8k to 5k, while more people will come on board.

Seriously guys, some of us are not really thinking towards this direction. If this task is really too small for the authority to look at this for now, come soem business guys oversea should please tap into this business, a lot of opportunity in that area of cable television business here. I learnt this guys pay CNN some huge cash to allow them sole ONLY company to air CNN in Africa also, cant confirm this but seems no other cable company show CNN in Nigeria. This service should simply be pay as you watch TV, or they should bring the cost this service down to the minimum. Why would anyone pay 10k per month to watch cable which equivalent is around 720hr/30days but hardly turn his/her TV on for 100hrs in a month. What happen to the rest 620hr airtime you pay to watch TV. Apart from most people who subscribe spend most of their time at work, you hardly get power from PHCN. This is a business any idiot can make hundred of millions. In internet business, there is pay as you use. There is even day and night plan. This guys just need competition to hit them somewhere nice and they will bend if not, if i was in their shoe myself, you will pay 15k, to watch UEFA :d because i need to make all i could before competition start to hit me.

@ the guy talking about 10k less than $50 and calling Nigerians cheap, if you not a DSTV staff then you cant be Nigeria. So anyway, the 10k you just mention cheaply could feed some family for one or two weeks in some part of Nigeria. If telephone can be pay as you use and internet is also pay as you use, there is no reason why cable tv should not able pay as you watch. I remember when BB came out and we started to subscribe for the service, i remember i usually pay 6.5k per month but now ask yourself how much you pay? it is simple, you can have pay as you watch and have unlimited for some certain group pf people. For instance, you have prepaid and postpaid for telephone.

Family / Re: Is It Right To Work For One's Father -inlaw/wife's Family?? by bjcisse: 2:02pm On Mar 13, 2012
i like gram and mature response. Am married and am also a business owner.
Just a few addition. I will use myself as an example if i were in your shoe. If my wife father offered me this, automatically and diplomatically will reject this offer. Number one reason is because of my wife which i know very well and because of the kind of a man that i am too. My dignity and integrity matter to me alot when it comes people generally talk-less of my in-laws. So, you no your wife very well, you can determine what she can do and not do. You need to understand the kind of person your wife is very well, i think your 5month marriage still need a further study. For instance, if you and your wife probably have some misunderstanding, is she kind of a person that can use her dad business to talk when she is angry? If not, then one point to consider, Like what some folks as said above, we human are unpredictable. If you must consider that offer, ensure you have your business as a fall back plan. You can hire people to run it for you while you act as the chairman. You can do it, many folks have upto ten companies they run at the same time and they are all successful, you don't need to be there all the time, just ensure you put it in the hands of capable, trust worth managers. Do not run this business behind your father in law or wife. They must know. Do not try to make your own business a supplier or consultant to your father-in-law business. If you later decide you want to take the offer, work there as if it's your own business and as your primary business and let your other business be your secondary and let them understand this. You will have to be mature and use diplomacy for a win win situation. If your father-in-law was probably in your show, he might do the same thing. He is a man.

No much time to type, you can see other meaningful post here to work your way around your decision making.

this might also be a diversion. They might want to make it look like its eagle sq so that the govt will focus on eagle sq alone on that day, hence the attack is going to happen elsewhere more important than the eagle sq,

Politics / Re: Debate: Is Nigeria A Failed State? by bjcisse: 10:05pm On Dec 17, 2010
Nigeria is not a failed state. She might not be doing enough but still developing. that is why we refer to as a developing nation.

Please guys, if you have said something bad about this country on this thread, please delete it.

Reason being;

we are all not thinking logically, what makes you think we are not given an under-cover or a researcher an information for his/her report. This might be someone who is collecting information weather to invest in Nigeria or not which means job employment for our people.

Whatever we say online goes a long way that all of us and our children are still coming to suffer for it. Simple test will tell you that if you or anyone anywhere in the world just put the key word 'Failed State or countries' in  google search, 80% chances that nairaland would come out in the first ten search result and bring out this thread.

This thread simply enough to put  off people who want to invest here and consider your neighbor Ghana.

think guys, if things is not going well or smoothly, we should not contribute in ways that will spoil it the more.

If the government allow this guy to strike a deal with them, then he will go and strategize and probably start to recruit people who will start to initiate this attack and distance himself but sponsor them.

I think he is learning, he is still a minor terrorist. If not, look at all evidence the prosecuting lawyer 'shaun' have against him but still denied with cheap liars.

The Nigerian Government still have power at this stage to put all of this under-control. One man is not bigger than the whole nation. one man cannot just put the whole 150million people in problems here and there. there are some people that are meant to be behind bars without even thinking about it.

i trust the US, once you are cut associating with terrorist group, you are dead man

Politics / Re: Attacks Were Targeted At Jonathan, Says Asari by bjcisse: 1:06pm On Oct 11, 2010
It is better for most of who does not understand in and out of politics to comment on what we are not sure of. We all have freedom of speech but we need to know facts before making comments on some sensitive topics

There is lots of under-G going on 'under covers'. We so much rely on the media for 100% information. we have forgotten that media people are business men and woman who want to sell and deceive the the general public on facts that they themselves are not sure off.

I was reading some comment on this topic and i laugh when some people were saying MEND took responsibility of the 9/1 attack in Abuja and also saying Henry who is the leader is not responsible because he is not in the country when the attack occur and as a matter of fact, the man is base in SA.

One question i want to ask you guys who think towards that direction is; We all know the group called Al-qeada, If the group decide to carry an attack in the US or any part of Europe, will Osama Bin Laden lead the attack? will he even be in the targeted country.

Investigate and ask yourself again.

We need to think out of the box.

God bless Nigeria

Nuhu Ribadu for president 2011
Politics / Re: Fg Should Learn From Lagos, Others – Ribadu ! by bjcisse: 1:06pm On Sep 21, 2010
@zionsown, If there is any young and dynamic man who has demonstrate a goodwill and also done what Mr. Ribadu did in fighting those polluting this country, and came out from any party other than the PDP then i will vote for him. Even if the person come from the bayelsa.

The truth is, you and i needs change in this country and unless we employ credible Nigerians who will not fear anyone irrespective of the party men that put them there.

When i watch President Goodluck declaring last week Saturday on TV, my mind tells me that this man will work and turn Nigeria for the better especially the moves he has made on power and other infrastructure. But the truth is that he cannot bite the fingers of those who put him there somehow, if a PDP man enter 2011, it will be business as usual 100%. This we don't want as youth. Let just give someone like Mr. Ribadu a chance of just 4years then we can all decide weather want him second time.

This country has a great potentials; Most popular black nation; number 8 in world most popular countries, number 8 in the world countries by populations, among the Next Eleven Countries, Nigeria economy is one of the most fastest growing economy in the world, We are number 3 largest economy in Africa, We are suppose to be number one but because of bad leaders, corruption, and public funds mis-management, we came third. Note, South African is number one largest economy with just about 40,million population, Nigeria with about 160million coming third, you can do the math why? If i continue with this, i will write the whole of nairaland space.

ACN as demonstrate the position that they will fix Nigeria by fixing Lagos and some other party of the state we have ACN man ruling. I care NOT what happen 2011, at least i wont be selling my vote even if Ribadu lost it. The man is a respected man in international community. Let him be our MANDELA.

The NLC has promised to organize a presidential debate after all parties complete their primaries. So let watch from their debate who qualify to be in that post bearing in mind the many problems with Nigeria. Watch it like the debate of Mr. Brown and the formal prime minister of UK, Watch it like the debate of President Obama and the republican in the united states.
Politics / Re: Nuhu Ribadu Becomes Acn Presidential Flag Bearer. by bjcisse: 12:26pm On Aug 20, 2010
I have never voted for any politician in Nigeria before
But if Nuhu Ribadu become any party presidential candidate
I'll cast my vote for him
simple and straight

I like change, at least let us have change in our government. Everybody know that the past and present leaders system never worked

Just like the united states change to Mr. Obama, and the UK change to Mr. Brown

If you want business as-usual then you can consider those that have being government before.

But if you want CHANGE; Nuhu Ribadu is the ANSWER, If you want CORRUPTION to stop in our government and the entire country, if you want CHANGE for the BETTER.

Most of us already believe the election will be rig and that Nuhu chances is slim but you believe if the election is not rigged, He can Win, then lets all come out and vote for the right person and see how they will rig a different of hundreds of thousand and a thousand of millions voters.

iic, i disagree with you on this one.

abi you no be woman, you cannot stand it when the calls are mostly from females and the talk is some how slow and calm. but the only thing i respect from your response is just the maturity there.

Each time, my own woman, come to my house, the first thing she check is my calls log and txt messages. She wants no which female calls me regularly and which one i calls regularly.

iic, as a woman, you need to be concern sometimes but not all the times, because your other female type, can do anything to get him from you. am talking from experience. especially if your man is handsome and rich.

Nobody prays for a coward as a husband but if one unfortunately gets involve, she does not have any choice than to be slapping him anywhere, anytime to bring him back to his senses. It does not matter what people think but I know that if I marry an idiot I will be slapping him. Some men are so silly that they misbehave any how, so if my husband misbehaves, I will have no other choice than to be beating, flogging and slapping him. God help me, if my strength and powers are above his, he is gone unless he learns to behave himself both at home and outside.
