I don’t know if their appointment for pickup is working now. As at last year, after several failed attempted to schedule one, a relative went to pickup without scheduling any. Primetouch1: |

Good morning, Do you mind clarifying what you mean by cannot access their form? If you booked your appointment together, and you are referring to theirD160 number on the appointment download, then email support. They can correct it at the backend for you. EMAIL: Support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com (mailto:Support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com) with the following information: • Your full name • Your date of birth • Your passport number • Your country of nationality • Your visa application number/barcode number (starts with AA ) • A short description of your situation Blessedone100: |

Also check one year STEM MBA. They usually have some scholarships that would be your program cost to about 40k or less. This may not include your cost of living. ARISTOCRATDAMMY1: |

With US embassy, you never know why she was rejected. - Unless this is new, my mom is retired and got her visa the first time she applied. She renewed via Dropbox last year. My aunt is retired and got her visa last year ( she has travelled multiple times to US) If she needs a translator, please find out how she can request for one at the embassy Ruby56: 2 Likes |

It should be in Akure( my assumption is that the passport will be mailed to her) If she doesn’t get it after 5 days , she can call the embassy. alickic: |

I’m so sorry. Visa rejection is very pain, more painful when you have a legitimate reason. Let her try again. May she be granted Ruby56: 1 Like |

Thanks for this. I have a follow up question that’s similar to the initial post. Has anyone’s parent gone for an interview in recent times? I’m looking for likely question parents can be asked during interviews. flourishing247: |

As long as you are currently enrolled & have a valid i20, you don’t need to renew your visa (if you are in the US). You only need to renew it if you step outside the US. You can ask the international student office in your school. MizAlero: 1 Like |

Google “ hnd to phd us Nigeria” There are some videos and articles about a lady who took this path. Check if she mentioned the names of the schools that offered her scholarship. Yeancah30: |

I am not sure if it is F1 or B1/B2 application, but there’s usually a question asking if someone has filed for you. It’s sometimes difficult to convince the VO that you intend to come back to Nigeria since a petition has been submitted on your behalf. For this question, I believe it is best to ask an immigration lawyer. quote author=mishappiness post=127988729]Hello! Please i dont know if any one can help me here. My mother Is a US citizen and petitioned I 130 for me in 2019, this immigrate visa take a very long number of years to become current. I have secured admission in Northeastern university for fall of 2024. Can this I 130 petition affect my F1 visa. I'm so confused i dont know what to do now. [/quote] |

1. Have you gotten your F1 document? This will show how much you require as a family, and possible deficit. 2. You can go for interview as a family as long as you can convince the VO on why you are going with her. 3. Most universities have financial advisor, you can request a meeting to understand payment plan. It’s university specific. Khodry: 1 Like |

It took my mom about a month. She submitted her application 3rd week in June, scheduled her passport drop off for 2nd week in July and was notified to pick up her passport a week after she dropped it off. M JohnZak: |

If you have an immediate family in the US, you would have included it in your application. If I remember correctly, it is one of the questions they ask. The person should be prepared to answer the questions truthfully. babyfaiz: |

Fill a new application, this is because your application submission date needs to be within 6months of your interview date. Once you are done, go to the scheduling link and change your DS 160 number. HotChoco2: |

Why STEM? If it because of the 3 years OPT, then you can apply to SLU’s MBA program as the program is STEM-certified. For other STEM certified programs for International students, Google “SLU Global Grads” Ninomitchs: |

Her last visa was issued in UK. If she is applying from Nigeria, I doubt she qualifies for Dropbox (this is because it is one of the questions for applying for Dropbox in Nigeria). nwauwa: 1 Like |

BigIyanga: Maybe if you took time to look through those free sessions, you will realize most of them are offered virtually apart from the general information session. 3 Likes |

BigIyanga: To anyone reading this who may have missed my initial post and response, please refer to the screenshots provided at the end of this post. I want to clarify that I am not affiliated with Education USA. I am simply a Nigerian sharing an opportunity that has greatly benefited me. Education USA is a part of the US embassy and offers a range of services, both paid and free (sessions). When you attend their free information session at the consulate, which takes place Monday to Friday, you will gain a better understanding of the purpose behind their membership fees and realize that not everyone qualifies for them(I did not qualify to be a member as mentioned in one of the screenshots). Their free sessions are always posted on their social media pages (I lived in Lagos so I usually follow their Lagos page, they also have for Abuja and different cities around the world). IG: https://www.instagram.com/educationusalagos/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/EducationUSALagos Lagos page Website: https://educationusa.state.gov/centers/educationusa-lagos It is acceptable to share legitimate opportunities that can help individuals fulfill their educational aspirations in the USA. However, the decision to utilize paid services should be based on individual circumstances and preferences. Within this forum, I have observed discouragement towards changing courses from one's undergraduate studies, pursuing an associate degree in a community college, or being considered too old for a second undergraduate degree. Some of this feedback is solely based on a few individuals' experiences, which may or may not be the reason for their visa rejections. It would be beneficial to pose such questions to Education USA officers during relevant sessions, as some of these officers work alongside visa officers. In my case, I pursued a Business Admin-related course for my undergraduate studies. Unfortunately, I faced visa disappointment when I tried to get one for an MBA program. Eventually, I obtained a visa to pursue a Master's in Social Work based on career aspiration at that time. A part of me thinks this approval was based on the V.O.’s willingness to listen to me and my unique circumstances. ehiremen2002: I don’t think the general information session is virtual. I say this based on my experience attending one of the session. Once a student qualifies to be advised by then, the usually issue a teller at the event to student |
