Why is it that only the German floor cost that is scaring you? Why is the foundation cost not scaring you and don't do foundation? Why is cement cost at over 4k in some instance not scaring you and don't use cement? Why is the roof cost at over 1.5 million on average not scaring you and don't roof?

As you are embarking on your project which is probably the biggest single budget you will ever make, you must learn to spend wisely and in the right places and segment of your project.

The right Foundation, Columns/Beams (blocks quality) and Roof are structural elements of buildings. There are no alternatives. German floor is part and parcel of a PROPERLY constructed foundation. A foundation without capping it off with German floor is just cutting corner. It is a false economy. A foundation without German floor na patch patch job.

Whoever tells you that bungalows don't need German floor for whatever land type don't know what they are talking about. All brick and mortar buildings need a monolith concrete slab (German floor).

The German floor not only doubles as DPC but helps spread the dead load and you have one continuous level floor which helps during tilling. If you don't have German floor there's the chance your floor will not be level after tilling. So you may have the situation where rooms have different level which to me is very annoying.

The same you now that structurally important German floor of about 90k on average is scaring, will come here tomorrow to inquire about doing structurally useless parapet of 500k on average. But spending money uselessly is not scary.

Just learn to spend your money wisely and in the right places like the German floor and you will have a fantastic building by the end of the day.

Okay bro. German floor will surely cost more than 90k for a 3 bedroom flat.

BrickDevo:
do the German floor but reduce the thickness to as low as 75mm or 3inches to save cost, just ensure you do it.
Okay bro. Thanks

Please do the german floor, it's very advantageous.
The only alternatives is by filling the last blocks of the foundation with pure concrete and coping it.

Okay bro. Will it save cost too and is it effective?

It all depends on the strenght of the land. German floor might not be necessary for what you are about to build except u get plans to raise am to 25 story building (like Ikoyi)) in future .
Thanks bro.
Properties / Hi Nairaland Builders, Do I Need To Do German Floor For My Bungalow? by Blessings7: 3:19pm On Dec 16, 2021
Good afternoon my fellow Nairalanders,

I'm actually about to build my first house. And it's a mini flat of 1 living room, 1 bedroom, kitchen, dining and store. I've decided that that is what I have to build due to cost constraint.

So my question is that, can I just build like that without German floor?

I've seen MANY houses built that way without any issues. I know one that still stands strong since the last 25 years.

On the other hand, like how much is enough for the mini flat German floor foundation?? Would love to know.

PLS POST TO FRONT PAGE.

Architects, and Builders. Pls I really need your help on this.

Your plan will determine the cost. The dimension of the Room, kitchen and others will determine.

Yeah. I just want to know my budget. I haven't drawn a plan yet.

Hi Nairalanders, I just acquired a half plot of land in Abeokuta. I'm thinking of starting the construction in stages. So like how much should I budget for the German floor foundation?

I haven't done the plan yet. I want to see if it is something I can afford before anything.

The mini flat should feature;
One living room
One bedroom & toilet
One kitchen
One dining
One store

What I really need is the price range of doing the German floor foundation at the moment.
Health / Can I Trust HIV Test Results After 4 Months Of Exposure? by Blessings7: 10:30am On Sep 21, 2021
Doctors in the house, please help!!!

Around April 23, 2021, I got exposed to gonorrhea.
I treated it and was recovered.

But the issue now is that since early August, I've been experiencing extreme weakness, shortness of breath, and diarrhoea. I also got some rashes on my hands and back, which was really stubborn before it left.

I've tested HIV *4 different times in various locations, Hepatitis B, sugar level, and all., But are all negative. I've even collected injection for typhoid but the symptoms are still there.

My temperature is normal, no headache, no cough, no sore throat, no swollen lymph nodes, no excess sweat.

I'm currently experiencing tiny poo, shortness of breath, tiredness and feverish feeling.

DON'T MENTION HIV COS 4 DIFFERENT HIV TESTS WON'T TELL LIES AND IT HAS ALREADY PASSED THE WINDOW PERIOD OF 3 MONTHS.

Please what could be wrong?

A 4 bedroom bungalow won't fit in.
But a 3 bedroom bungalow will work perfectly with 2 car space and sizeable rooms.

A 4 bedroom pent-bungalow will also work where you have;
3 rooms ensuite on ground floor with sitting room, dining, kitchen, store and visitors toilet and then 1 room upstairs also with a sitting room if you want.

And no, the rooms won't be small.
Okay bro. Thanks alot

Well, if we're talking about 3 rooms in total, then it's doable and it'll be comfortable.
No. I mean 2 standard sized bedrooms with 1 master bedroom downstair.
Only 1 master bedroom will be upstair

The math isn't difficult, what size of rooms do you want? Sitting room, dinning and kitchen, with these we can easily calculate the space needed to accommodate them.
The sitting room should be moderately sized. Just two master bedrooms. One up and down. The penthouse will have just one bedroom

Hello room, I just a half plot land of 300sqm. I want to ask if it is adequate to build a 4 bedroom bungalow on with parking space for just 2 cars.
Moreover, I intend that the soakaway is built strong on top of the parking space.
